flawless work of art, Bach used mathematics my friends
This is my favorite version for sure. So sublime, so perfect and so Bach to me. Thank you!!
You are a genius, dear maestro Ignas !!!
Dear Ignas ! You are a very brave person and this causes a special delight! (the third part is performed at an exorbitant pace and it is simply amazing!!!)
Quelle grandeur
Divin
i will forever come back to this.
Excelent concert.
I was in Vilna.
Nice Country, nice people.

Lovely comment
Happy new year

J.S.Bach said, "The aim and the final reason of all music should be nothing else but the glory of God and the refreshment of the human spirit". So why is it that so many performances of this concerto bore me? My favourite performance of BWV 1052 had been the one by polina osetinskaya until i heard ignas maknickas highlight and emphasize ONE note(16:45), which convinced me of the superiority of this performance. On rare occasions a seemingly insignificant DETAIL can make an entire performance feel whole and complete, as is the case here with ignas. Both polina and ignas also correctly understand the RHYTHMS and the DRAMA of this music coupled with pianistic virtuosity...surely The Most High God is glorified and our spirits are refreshed when listening to these performances of, in my opinion, the greatest of all keyboard concertos.christos yannakou, a son of man...
😮😢
Bach's strength was that he left room for interpretation and we see this again with this 18-year-old Ignas Maknickas who, completely from memory, takes all the space that this fantastic piece of music leaves to the performer.
Quel bonheur cette interprétation. Merci Ignas Magnificas
MERCI DE NOUS OFFRIR UNE SI SOMPTUEUSE INTERPRÉTATTION... JE SUIS DANS UN RÊVE ! MILLE BRAVOS... FELICITATIONS
It’s like the music is coming from other dimention, astonishing performance indeed. Bach’music is groundbreaking whenever you give it a chance
I wonder if the universe will ever produce a genius like him ever again.
@@hoon_sol His name is Boulez, the fourth B of classical music.
@@psijicassassin7166:
Not even comparable. That's like comparing a child drawing to masterful painting.
@@hoon_sol Bach doesn't sound like a child drawing tho. You're too harsh.
@@psijicassassin7166:
Did you forget to turn on your brain today? Bach is the masterful painter in the analogy, moron.
ignas, you are under the spell of Bach. And we are greatful.
We are under Ignas' spell!
The way you brought out the left hand at 3:40 was brilliant. Bravo!
Absolutely brilliant!! Thank you, young man, for this magnificent gift!!
Best live piano performance of the 1st movement on UA-cam. I love the speed. It brings out the fire of this piece.
Thank you!
@@ignasmaknickas You're welcome Ignas. Thank you for a wonderful performance!
I agree
Brilliant performance indeed !Dynamic and Beautiful interpretation of Bach composition played by young Ignas reminds of Glenn Gould. Thanks for presenting the video performance.
It's a happy and joy. Thank you
Very clear, energetic, self-confident, well-prepared, quiet fluent performance
To my mind it is best interpretation of this concerto (this is one of my favourite things). Bach`s essence is energy, fresh, fire, youth, lust and concupiscence - all these elements I have found here.
alexandr glukhov Thank you very much for your nice words!
Incredible playing and interpretation. I was not expecting to hear such an astounding musical performance, full of details not normally brought out. I wish you a brilliant career ahead of you.

BRILLIANT. Fantastic legato, light, easy, full of polyphony, incredible sound!, forward, optimistic and sad at the same time. Bravissimo
Antek Ketna Thank you!
@@ignasmaknickas It's a shame the camera didn't zoom in on you from 06:03 and only from 06:18. These are the seconds you want to also see the pianist not only hear him.
@@shatukiki 5-minute mark .... he's talking or humming to the music, kind of like Glenn Gould.
I do approve 100%, and I think better than P. Osetinskaya!
Well, did Bach want legato? In those Times instruments was quite different as now a days....
Wow - what an amazing talent - simply brilliant Bach-playing.
Thank you!
Impressive, what a talent! Among the best performances I've heard of this play. Congratulations! Looking forward to hearing more from him in the future.
Dear Ignas, i hope see you and listen you in Italy...you have a sort of Gould's possession... i love this!
Thank you very much! I hope I will come again to Italy in the future!
Exhilarating!!!! Especially 3rd movement...frantically passionate...excellent fr all musicians & maestro!!!
Martha Barrett Thank you!
Absolutely beautiful!; excellent approach and sound!. Thank you!
Suzy Serling thank you for watching!
Omg! simply beautiful ....
Wow, all from memory and what concentration!!! I heard this epic piece as a child on a vinyl album, a 1966 recording by the Nuremberg Orchestra and Rudolf Zartner, it's nice to see it played live.
GRANDIOSA EJECUCIÓN. VERDADERAMENTE MARAVILLOSO. GRACIAS.
Me too, around that same year. My first hearing was with George Malcolm at the Harpsichord
Absolutely Brilliant.
이이선조 thank you!
Thank you for sharing this beauty. Keep shining... God bless you.
SMYRNA 7777 Thank you!
What an excellent find. Love the tempi and most of all the expressionism of the pianist. Hope to be able to see and hear this genius in the near future in Switzerland. Bravo, bravo!
Thank you very much!
Dear Mr. Ignas, it's a delight to listen to your interpretation and watch you playing the piano! I am looking forward to more uploads!!! I wish you both a felicitous career and a felicitous personal life - full of harmonies, counterpoints, syntheses and orchestration of all its elements, on all its levels ans sections - a full human life!
Brilliant, capturing, serious and endlessly fluctuation with mood changes and colours
This is one of my favorite versions of that piece and I love your body language.
Andreas Herejk thank you!
I am playing this semester...you are a genius....
What a beautiful interpretation!
Bilal Malaeb Thank you!
Best thing in this performance were the tempi of the movements. Even getting that right seems to be elusive to many conductors and soloists. Though occasionally a little loose a good player. Not always supported by sensitive and intonated string playing. What a privilege it is to play this music.
Seeeeriously great. Bravissimo! Possibly best version ever!
Very light and agile! Professional interpretation!!!! With decent effort and respect!!! Thank you!!!!

Le son du piano est exceptionnel!
Bravo au son
Yeah, I love that.
Without a doubt, the best performance of my favorite Bach concerto. Bravo.
Mike Hughes Thank you very much!
Not as good as Polina Osetinskaya, but well played.
@@melvynobrien6193 both performances are superb.
Breathtaking…
They all play great together! Thank you, for publishing this, really.
Complimenti Ignas!
I agree--only Gould and Lipatti were better (and only for the 2nd movement)
Sternstunde
He is great!!! Thank you, for publishing this since it's relaxing and rejuvenating.
By far my favorite version. Thanks!
Ils sont tous si jeune et beaux! C'est magnifique Bravo
Cool and Sweet Bach.I think you are
Champion!
A delightful, very talented interpretation, filled with incredible energy and inspiration, mesmerizing with its deepest sincerity !
Brilliant, perfect tempo!
Brilliant! By far the best i've heard👏
thank you!
I just discovered this video - and Ignas' performance is flawless and fantastic!
Bravo.
He lives the music.
So expressive at a galloping pace
Bravoooo!!!
it's a true delight to listen to this interpretation....
Can’t decide if you or Gould’s interpretation is better 😩 both exhilarating!!
Thank youu!
Love how he played the section at 2:35, haven’t heard it accented this way before. Really beautiful bravo ignas!
One of the most authentic Bachian interpretations I have heard! The touch isn't too romanticized, yet it is not overly mechanical to the point where phrases are all broken up. Awesome touch, tone, articulation, and dynamics! I think Bach would've approved of this performance very much!!!
Daniel Cheng Thank very much for your comments!
Agreed!!!
Really... I think Maestro Bach would be proud of himself and at the same time of young Maestro Ignaz hearing this beautifully played version of the concert of my hearth... Aw, echoes of Dinu Lipati, of Gould, even of Grimaud, this version has it all and many many more. Congrats from Argentine, Maestro Maknikas.
Too fast; it sounds as if he's got a dinner date and wants to get out of there quickly. Polina does it far better, with a superior left hand. I'm sure Bach would have played this more slowly.
@@ignasmaknickas Starts too fucking fast, eh?
Great tempo.And playing of course.
Wow!!!! It is really cool indeed! The best speed!
great teamwork!
This is my fav piece from Bach, and I am glad to have found your interpretation of it.
A simply beautiful performance. Bravo! Greetings from New Jersey.
thank you:)
wonderfull interpretation! thank you so mutch🥰💘
acompanyament is very good, but the pianist is enchanted into the infinity of the music
Excellent performance, Ignas. This really moved me. Bravo!
Thank you!
I just discovered your version of this concerto. I have been listening to it for 45 years now and I would put you within the, for me, 3 best interpretations. I really love it, thank you so much.
what other versions have you listened ?>
I love this. I feel this young man is inside the music. My favorite Bach piece of all.
Beautiful!
As a Composer, I can say you feel the soul of that piece. Espacially The Forte Measures are excellent.
Ps: I don't use youtube to share my composes.
Exquisite performance.🥰🥰🥰
Absolut sehr schön gespielt!
Wow I like the way this kid plays .He's "inside" the music. completely gone out of his body.
It's true. I absolutely get exactly what you are referring to. He totally on another planet. Gone
I agree. It's a joy to watch him play. In the 1st mvt I love the way he moves, and sway, and looks around. He obviously enjoys playing certain note patterns and passages. He is so connected to this piece. This is a wonderful performance.
One of the best renditions I’ve heard
Joyful and brilliant!
Very delicate, passionate, and exciting! Bravo!
Amazing :)
Sublime, greetings from Chile
Rafa Towers thank you!
Cuanto me arrepiento no haber estudiado música!!!!
Felicitaciones
Wow what an amazing performance, well done Ignas
David Herman thank you!
Wow, he's so totally into it!
I do think the music is flowing like a 'bach'
That is not I.S. BACH? but like a 'Bach'
