I really appreciate the video for showing the unboxing process - makes it much easier for me to return the product in question (didn't fit in with my other lights) as I can see how it was packed :) Great video either way, the product was shown and demonstrated super well!
I often use unboxing videos for the same purpose :) They make it a lot easier to get things back in the box the right way if I'm selling or returning things.
Heads up: IKEA's own Tradfri E14 bulbs don't fit this lamp. I just bought this one with a couple of Tradfri E14 bulbs and they are too tall, not letting the diffusor sit all the way down on the base… :(
@@BasAlphenaar FWIW, I bought some shorter bulb sockets, cut out the original ones, and hot glued the new ones. It now fits, even if I think the bulb still sits a bit too close to the top of the glass. It's not veeery noticeable but not sure it's worth the final price/cost/time spent on it. I'm sure there are other table lamps that fit the bulbs right away… ;)
Thanks for sharing. I am planning to use this for handmade lamp shade which I made from plastic. Do you think it will work for that? Suggestions please?
Has this lamp been discontinued? I've been searching for one from Ikea for months now, but it's never in stock. I can find it on Amazon at double the price, but I'm hesitant to do that until I know for sure I can't get the Fado lamp from Ikea.
Well it depends on the bulb you put in it, not the lamp itself. Bulb brightness would be measured in lumens from 400 (really dim) to 1600 (really bright). Just choose a bulb that fits your needs.
Or you can buy an inline dimmer, and splice it into the cord and remove the on/off switch. Just cut the connector of each end and twist the copper into the copper of the lamp cable. @@lql1094 hey mate, I loved your suggestion and I’m planning to implement it. Do you know if an inline dimmer would work with any bulb, or does the bulb have to be already dimmable? Also, does it matter if the bulb is LED or incandescent?

Can we put *Mi e27 LED* bulb?

Hey, which Ikea bulb fits then?
You kan buy the 27cm Fedolamp. It is using e27 bulbs

Yes. I diy and pair with xiaomi color bulb.
Very good
please do the simrishamn table lamp next
do candle lamp bulbs work in there?
As long as they're not too tall, yees.

I still see it in stock at Ikea here in Europe (Spain and Portugal) so I don't think it's been discontinued.
How bright is this, will it be enough to light a room but not too massively bright?
Well it depends on the bulb you put in it, not the lamp itself. Bulb brightness would be measured in lumens from 400 (really dim) to 1600 (really bright). Just choose a bulb that fits your needs.
So there's no way to dim the light from low to high? It has only 1 brightness setting?
You can fit a smart bulb and use the appropriate app to change brightness. With a normal bulb you'll just get "off" or "on".
Or you can buy an inline dimmer, and splice it into the cord and remove the on/off switch.
Just cut the connector of each end and twist the copper into the copper of the lamp cable. Cover with heat shrink.

its crazy how you cant find a single one of these in Toronto anymore
* casually shows off youtube plate *
8 euros?! This lamp is $25 now crazy
Still €8 here in Europe. Must be USA's high taxes I guess
its almost 200 Canadian dollars on Amazon!!
@@BartechTV it's €20 now for the 25cm one. I think €14 for the 17cm one
Does the e14 philps hue bulb fit?
