I bought this RSX Type S from Copart and with some time and effort, we come out with a free K20 Engine w/ 6spd Transmission!

I was a spoiled brat in highschool who had a RSX type-S. I was ripping it through town all the way through the redline. It was an awesome car. Wish I never sold it!
Now the Kseries guys can feel what it was like to try and buy a B-series DOHC Vtec a decade ago. 😁

This brought back some great memories! I loved going to the IAA and buying Honda’s! It was such rush! I scored some sweet cars in my days! I would team up with the local body shops and get them to tow the cars and drop the engine and sell them the shell and end up with the swap for free. Good times for sure! 😎🤙🏽🙏🏽
Come on man. Rsx's are great little cars. That one looked semi repairable. Don't murder them.
Feel like the wiring harness could have been saved, even with front end damage. A relatively expensive part considering a "budget build" where such a harness is required. Impressive time nonetheless. Well done sirs

You could easily cover $2700 and then some by selling the black interior, seats, spoiler, and tail lights. Most RSX came in tan interior.

I've been looking for some factory 2001 CL Type S rims for my car, and a new factory rim is $250+, I've even seen reconditioned rims for $160+😳😳
Nice video. This brought me down memory lane.. I had a black on black 03 type s. Drove it into a tree back in 2013. Wanted to keep the car so bad but had to take the insurance pay out. Have always wanted another one or 8th gen SI. Ended up picking up a 22 ultra black M/T veloster N and have been so happy with that decision. I'll hopefully have another k20 project someday tho.

back in my honda days i use to do this all the time free itr swap free k swap by just parting it out best way to do it when your on a budget

TBH no matter how you get your swap its never going to be cheap. Competition for these cars is fierce a lot if not most wrecked ones get bought before going to auction.And when they do go to auction they bring 2k or more just because greedy businesses want to charge ricer tax on the main swap parts. Then theres auction fees, and the fact most states require u have a business license to participate and buy. You MIGHT be lucky to break even selling leftover parts but thats also time consuming and marketplace business can be very difficult. Oh yea that was timing chain rattle on that startup theres about $400 in parts to service that correctly to make sure the well known tensioner failure does not occur and destroy the motor. In no way in absolute hell is it easy to find good deals anymore but people do get lucky sometimes and find them at pick n pull. Which is where I got my stuff lol.

You shouldn’t pay a broker more then 1000 bucks don’t overpay or. Pay a percentage of what the car is worth. And watch out some states you have to be a body shop to get the car inspected before rebranding titles. Know your laws. Before you just drop a lot of money

Only an uneducated guy would pay that. The k20z3 is inferior to the k20a2 and k20z1. The k24a2 is better than all three and the 06-08 version is the true top dawg. The k24a2 is also much easier and cheaper to find in comparison to all the k20s because it was the TSX motor and manufactured in much higher quantities.

@@scraplifegarage yes I work with rsx and a lot of people look for the T Bracket because them bolt holes rot. Can’t count how many times I’ve heard “my hood flew open”
Its because people close the hood hard plus the bracket holding the latch the bolt holes are like tin foil. I welded mine and used large washers to distribute the load over a wider area and never had mine fly up thank goodness.
