this goes right along with my small generator step up. I am tired of paying to much for electric, when with just a bit of no-how and a few parts from electronics laying around will produce a endless free green power supply for homes. your step up videos brought much light into my project. thankyou very much. i look forward to watching more of your videos.

What kind of items can you run off this set up? A 12v battery through any inverter can only give around 2000w, how about the sign wave? Do power tools run smoothly? Wanting to set up my solar panel for the work shop to charge batteries to run tools and such off but pure sign wave inverters plus solar charge controllers can get expensive. But I have many many parts laying around just don’t know what to do with them 😒

11:05 On your circuit at the output of the transformer, it is a voltage doubling rectifier. That is, the voltage will be multiplied by 2 times. Moreover, through the rectifier, the voltage will be multiplied by 1.4. That is, in the end: 220v * 2 * 1.4 = 616v ?

because the output voltage is square wave, you would multiply by 1, not 1.414 ( √2) . If the sine voltage then we have to multiply by √2

When it is unloaded, I have about 380V output, and when I connect a 25W / 230V tospada bulb to about 165V. When I connect a laptop turned off so that the battery recharges itself, it drops to about 150V, and the current flowing at the input is about 4.5A and the supply voltage is about 13V - 14V. I will test it with a 4.5 A and 15 V laptop power adapter - media tech. You have a 100W light bulb and it shines nicely and the voltage is 220V. For me, the laptop xachilacz 90W and 19V output.

nicely built, however, considering your transformer size, i think its from 12v 10 amp atx power supply, which means you can only get 120watts of power at best, besides, most atx supplies use power transistors, unless u have changed the transformer winding to use with mosfets , this cant out put more than 120 watts

You can connect any switching power supply in its output. These supplies do not care about the shape or frequency of the input voltage. About the wattage, he says somewhere in the comments "200 Watt maximum".

I don't see how this would even work, you need an H bridge setup in order to make an on/off configuration because transformers don't work on DC power it has to be AC power. Also you have to have a microcontroller to set the frequency of the H bridge to get it to do 50/60Hz.

    • @PhdHung
      @PhdHung  5 років тому +1

I use 2 470ohm resistors in parallel, if using 220 ohm resistor, you need 220 ohm 1W resistor
