That's not correct... Toto is the original... It's written by Jeff Porcaro and David Paich - two genius musicians!

I never get tired of this song from Toto, Africa. And every group or person who’s play the song carries the Spirit of it.
The original was made in the studio over many months. These guys were right there in front of the whole world. I’m watching them again.

I do this song I know how hard it is. You guys just are incredible with your execution. That lead solo on acoustic cutaway it was incredible. The base is beautiful and the rhythm section on that Martin is exquisite.
Where in the WORLD did you find that bass player? I've watched a number of your videos and this girl just KILLS it in every one of them. The internet and UA-cam are full of great acoustic guitarists and you guys are right there among the finest. But the net is not full of good bass players and this young lady is truly a one in a million! I hope you men appreciate what you have in her. She is damn good!

That last note on the last word "...had" is so freaking perfect. The harmony is absolutely wonderful. That one note is a masterpiece by itself. They caught the subtlety of that last set of harmonies how they don't shift exactly the same note up and down together. There's some kind of subtle offset in the last note I've always thought was beautiful and they got it perfectly. It's the details! Great artists pay attention to the details.
