I enjoyed this tour. Love your work with children. I teach preschool and I try to make sure that there's always paper and something to mark with for them. I love how they are so gung-ho and without fear when it comes to art. :)
Yes! Same! I have several bins with pencils, markers and crayons sitting out and everyone has sketchbooks or they can walk over to my printer and grab a “plain piece of paper” to use. My current crew of five year olds are amazing and I am going to be so bummed when the move on to Kindergarten next fall!
Showed up in my feed. Thankful you did! New subscriber. Great work. I like how you experiment and try things out in your sketchbooks- interesting, surprising results- thanks for talking about your process too. Been flipping through some of the illustrations collections Martin Salisbury has curated in his books and your art reminds me of some of the artists he features.
Thanks so much for sharing your work. I love your style and the way it flows through your sketchbook, connecting your fantastic line work beautifully! You now have a new subscriber from a fellow artist in Australia. Have a great day 😉
Thanks so much Marcy! The kids are always so fun and inspiring to work with. They help me not take things so seriously and remind me to keep playing around!
@@jasonelambeth Noted! Thanks. I really like your painted pages. I think I will try doing that with gouache and then draw on them with a pen and colored pencils. Please keep on sharing your art. Thanks again!
Because of that video I decided to pick up drawing again. Thank you for that!!! I feel really inspired! It really brought me a lot of joy 💗💗💗 P.S. What kind of pen did you use for drawing of these people? This are absolutely beautiful and I’d love to try getting into something similar. Greetings!
Oh my gosh! What an amazing compliment. I’m so happy to hear that this is inspired you to start drawing again! Most of these were done with either Micron pens or a Pilot G2 roller ball pen (.7mm). The Pilots feel really nice doing the line drawings, but smudge really easily when I’m not paying attention.

Love your sketch book and combination of collage/printing and layering of media. 🙌

Omg! Thank you so much for the kind words! I am not familiar with Martin Salisbury, I will look him up! Thanks!!
it surprises how matte your acrylic colors look, always interesting color choices!
I use a lot of gouache also, so it might be the gouache? Definitely acrylic though with the Gelli plate prints. Thank you!!

Cool to see inside your sketchbooks! I love the collage and line work and ovals and cutouts. It must be fun to create with little kids!

For sure! I'm a retired teacher. I love retirement, but I do miss that aspect (ever with older kids). @@jasonelambeth

I love your work! You said you had a Stillman and Birn. Which one is it? The pages sound thick and sturdy. 😊
Thank you! It’s the Zeta series. This one is the soft cover. Super smooth, thick and sturdy for sure.
