Here is some context: The show has been on since 1997 and is renued through 2027 South Park is the name of the town the show takes place in. It is based on a real Colorado town but it the show the town is batshit crazy. The main characters are all in 4th grade (3rd in the first 3 seasons) There is internal continuity and passege of time, however the kids stay in the same school year. Whatever year it is in real life it is that year in the show. At the begin of the show the kids were born in the late 80s/early 90s, in season 12 it says they were born in 2001 and currently they would be born in 2014. The show's formula usually involves parodying real life events and people, something it can do especially well givin it's unique production system. Every south park episode is consived of, written, animated, and aried in just 6 days. This allows the creators the have there thumb on the pulse of popular culture and many episodes will have references to a event that was relevant for maybe one week that would be completely outdated if a show with a more traditional production cycle were to reference it. For example when Obama won the presidential election, a south park episode about the election aired the very next day using dialog from his actual speech. This allows south park to serve as a sort of time capsle of gen z. Other than cultural events, the show and its plots focus heavily on the characters. The 4 main boys have such a fun dynamic and are all really interesting characters. The rest of their 4th grade class are equally fun and have some great episodes focusing on them. Another running theme in south park is that the adults are all incredibly incompetent and actually stupid. From the school faculty, to the parents, to the towns folks they are so out of touch its hilarious. The adults are some of the funniest characters though and they all have their own evolutions. The world of south park is fleshed out with countless recurring characters from jesus and satan, to lemiwinks the king gerbil, to big gay al and mr hankey the Christmas poo. It is its own little messed up world. "Peak" south park is considered season 4-17 but there are great episodes before and after! I would suggest either watching from the begining or watching random episodes that people suggest as most episodes work well as stand alones and that way you can get a wider sense of the show and get right to the best parts. Let me know if you want episode suggestions!
You need to watch a full episode. There is usually a main plot and 1 or more sub plots. They are 4th graders. It's written really smart and usually about a eventv2 to 3 weeks b4 it aired.
This show is great and yes you need full episodes. Its been on a while so i prefer everything after like season 5 when the show looks better and they get in a groove with what the show is. Cant wait to get more of this from you
You're doing a MAJOR disservice to yourself by watching a compilation like this. If you are going to dive into South Park, watch the entire episodes PLEASE!
What I was gonna comment everybody else have already said: To make sense of the jokes you need to watch full episodes in stead of just a compilation of outtakes.
So many people in the US think of Costa Rica as a playground for the wealthy, but to get to wherever they're going they have to go through San Jose first. It's good that they should have to see the poverty they'd rather ignore on the way to the resorts.
the newer stuff is more modern real life parodies older seasons were there own stories. all of it hilarious but like lots have said, gotta watch full episodes. a good one in my opinion is pc principal raging over the schools news paper using the word retarded only to find out the editor of the paper to be Jimmy one of the cripples of the show. (Jimmy is f'ing hiliarious) that and the episode where the city wok guy has multiple personality disorder and has butters commit crimes for him. (butters is the happy go lucky kid who always gets in trouble from his parents)
please react to the best episodes one at a time. this show is hilarious and very well known but without the context some jokes wouldn't feel the same. *Lil' Crime Stoppers* South Park: Season 7, Episode 6 is a good episode to start. cheers.
@@FranchescaVeny when the show was first aired, they did animations with cut-out papers so it is not pleasing to the eyes of a new viewer. especially the episode 1. the show got better after first 2 seasons and really started to getting attention. you can watch separate episodes randomly because the show doesn't have much of a continuity apart from few character traits and reoccurring incidents which are very easy to understand as you go along with few episodes. you will also get more viewers if you react to best episodes. good luck.
@@FranchescaVeny If you do react to all episodes, don't just stop before season 5. But of course people would be interested in seeing you react. Everyone here would. And it would really boost your subscribers and you'll see why it's so popular and still on tv today, despite making so many people angry.
very not politically correct, full of coarse language, sex jokes, I started watching this show weekly back in 1997, starting with the very first one. Many of the old episodes (seasons 1-5) could not be broadcast on t.v. today. Try to watch season 1 episode 13 (Cartman's mom is a dirty slut), if it still exists (censorship may have killed a few episodes) where the kid Cartman asks his mom about his dad, but be ready for a very schocking surprise. it will give you a good idea about what is an old episode. And their friend Kenny dies in each episode (the fun is to guess when it will happen and how). Definitely not for children. Have a nice day.

Being in 4th grade is what makes it funny.
Oh, i thought u would jump into Episode 1. Watching highlights to get an idea of a show is stupid in my opinion.
Truth
No, getting an idea of a show by watching their oldest episode is fucking stupid 🤣
