  • Watch as we explore the iconic and arguably most famous ghost town in Washington State. The former gold mining camp/town of Bodie Okanogan County WA.
Bodie located at the mouth of Bodie Creek in Okanogan County WA came to be in 1896 with the discovery of gold in the area.
From 1902 until 1911 the mines were owned by the Bodie Mining Company, backed by the Wrigley brothers of chewing gum fame. The mine was operated until around 1917 and then remained idle with intermittent production until Government Order L-208 closed non essential industries during WWII.
North of Bodie Washington on Toroda Road, is the 1897, five-patent Bodie Mining Company claim, later owned by the Northern Gold Company and Toroda Mines Inc. Toroda Road bisects the appealing remnants of this mining camp, whose apparent ghost town is often confused with the original "old" Bodie Washington.
Today several structures remain on either side of Toroda Creek Road, with some structures on private property near the Bodie mines.
Bodie remains a classic example of a Washington ghost town and a favorite.

Thank you for the comments. Yes, we have been to all of it with permission from the owner. We just wouldn't do a video of private property.

I’ve been wanting to visit here and Molson, both being in okanagan county. Coming from Seattle, it’s a long trip, but looking at this video, I’m sure it’ll be worth it😁

I just don't get why the owner doesn't get a hold of some old tin and put it on those roofs to preserve what is left. ask for donations to preserve history, idk.
