    Derek, don't let folks get you down, they hunt they way they want and you hunt your way. You try to help, they may adapt or not. I have run into folks who think the beach is theirs and kinda get nasty. I just move along as its no big deal to me and not worth getting frustrated. I really enjoy the time and effort you put into your hunts and videos. Speaking of adapting - your Deus hunts are great. Equinox hunts were just as interesting as well. I am a vacation beach hunter two to three weeks a year and look forward to it every time. Your videos rock. I am super curious on your settings though - you said beach sensitive, no discrimination, no bottle cap, i presume no notch, reactivity ?, salt sensitivity ? etc.

    Derek, You're a golden heart owner, man! Don't let it get you down. Some people do not like you just because you're straight and honest, and they're not like you. That is a rule in the world that most people talk about honesty and empathy, but they are lying. 💖👌

    Hi ! I hunt Cocoa Beach when I go detecting. I'm 75 and have hunted that beach for a long time. I quit for the past 9 years but have started again. I welcome you to Cocoa Beach and wish you the best of luck. Hope to see you there one day so I can look at the Deus2. I use the Legend and it's a little heavy for me but will have to make do because of my budget. I do like the machine though. Keep up the good work and keep posting videos.

    Good hunt Derek I've been noticing I think I said it to you once already that the bottle caps when they're super rusted they tend to sound good otherwise I pick them right out everybody should just enjoy the beach there's thousands of miles of beach to walk and if somebody's sitting there whining and complaining about you being in their area wah wah 🙄👍🦀

    Derek is a great guy it's amazing what he does with that metal detector or any metal detector it's an art the way he grids off the Beach it would literally take me 2 hours to do what he does in 20 minutes I'll look over my shoulder and I'll stand back and I'll watch his technique it's crazy guys I can't believe how fast he is technique is a lot to do with metal detecting I'm one lucky individual for being able to hunt with Derek he's a great guy if you ever get to meet him you know he does everything from the heart he's not selfish he'll teach you too many words to explain his kindness thank you for letting me hang out with you for the day and if you ever get lessons from him it's worth every penny

    Love the videos as always and as far as what the older guy sed to you I look at it as the older crowd that started the hole metal detecting is sad to say are falling off and the ones that are still around they seem to be more into the older relics and the younger generation is just so dam lazy and yes I can say that there is a bunch of cutthroat out there it's not funny out of everyone I've seen out there detecting I've only really talked to a cupple people and they wore the older guys that have been out doing it for the past 20+ years but any ways hopefully one of these days I get the opportunity to meet up with you and Tell.a story or two and maybe a lesson if I ever get the nox 800 back or I cash in all my change and get the deus II

    Well maestro I have to disagree with you on the scan the beach with a quicker pattern. I have literally tripled my finds since I slowed down my grid and tightened the pattern. If I completely cover 65% of the beach it’s better than sparsely covering the entire beach. Just my opinion.

    • @MetalDetectingChannel
      @MetalDetectingChannel  2 роки тому

      Yes but you know where to grid! I found something today that if I didn’t go directly back down a tight grid I never would have found it💪

    Don't think I agree with your methodology 7:24 in, anything from signal masking from multiple targets to mineral content throws everything you've said out the window. Maybe Florida doesn't have the black sands like SoCal does but, everything you said misses good targets in most places.

    I'm a B but my is a C and has a just bad swing .. you know where hes close to sand when coil gets in front of him,then it the end of the swing hes 1' off the sand but he kills it at the beach... we both still use the 800. So long story short your little lesson might be worth wild trying..

    Teaching how to metal detect is a double edged sword. Sure you teach and it makes you feel good and helps newbies like me. On the other hand, it encourages people to buy a metal detector go out to FL beaches from all over the U.S. I live in FL and I know this first hand because I've talked to people who came to detect the beaches. Is that a bad thing? No. They're not just bringing a detector, they're bringing thousands of dollars they're spending in our state and helping our economy. I'm happy they're here! Besides, I want to detect the Chisolm Trail. Should I be 'banned' because I'm not a resident of the state I detect in? Surely not. That's silly.
    There are detectorists who get all bent out of shape if you detect an area they 'plan' to go into or appear to be heading towards. Why?? That's just silly. I've detected an area with my 800 only to have my husband find something in that same area with his 800. Just because I swing my detector over an area, doesn't mean I will get a signal for something in the ground. Besides, it's only greed and jealousy that causes the frustration over this perceived 'right' where no true 'right' exists and my life is much more enjoyable when I curb those emotions. Greed - covetousness - only serves to make me miserable. It's why the devil would like talk me into it. Like un-forgiveness, it doesn't make the other person unhappy. They're in joyous oblivion. I'm the one miserable. I'm the one whose day is ruined. My life is much better without it and it makes me a better person to be around.
    My advice to myself and others? Get over it. Consider it the Hand of the Almighty showing you where your heart is.

      @@MetalDetectingChannel I think exposing greed is a good thing....and it's simply unmitigated greed that causes these people to act like idiots. It IS idiotic when you think about it: There is a reason why every religion on the planet teaches something like Karma/"The Law of Sowing & Reeping". It's because that's the way God set up this world to operate. What I say and do to others and this planet will come back to either bless me or bite me in the backside. It's up to me which that will be based on my own actions to others.
