Basically ive been over charging it and sometimes ive been using my tablet while its charging. I thought there was no chance to fix my tablet thats why i havent been using it. Ill be replacing my battery soon. I hope it gets fixed like yours.

I have the same tablet and same issue. I removed the back cover and noticed that the joints on the battery connector (to the pcb) were dry. Simply pressing them down to resolder with a hot soldering iron (don't apply more solder) seems to have fixed the issue.
Resolved: Go to Settings -- General -- Power saving -- Power saving mode -- Restrict performance -- and check the limit performance CPU. That was my problem, now it is running flowless.
WOW THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS! Mine is fairly new (quite less than 2 months old) and it does exactly this! I swear there are times that it won't even let me unlock the screen before it does another reboot. Pretty weird tho cause(if you use it while charging) I've noticed that while it's plugged in or even if it's just recently charged, it would appear as if it's back to normal. Plus sometimes mine would shut down at 0% then when I'd charge it it'd say that it was under about 40%, ABSOLUTELY MENTAL! I guess now I can get mine fixed, but I guess this means that there really is something wrong with the production of these things if a lot of us are experiencing the same problem. If the iphone6 has bendgate, then the tab s has this shit on its hands.
My Samsung Tab S 8.4 battery runs down so fast. It drops even when pluged in. I just purchased a replacement battery and will put it in to see if thats the problem. From what I've seen on line the batterys in these tablets are problematic.
wow I got the same problem here.. the screen is flickering and sometimes don't even give me a chance to access my home because it's keep rebooting. so the only solution is to replace battery?
update as of august 8, 2017 it was just a simple battery calibration issue , I unplugged and plugged the battery and the problem seems to have disappeared since then ...
I just did a battery replacement and it cured the power off and restart problems I had. There are some videos of the battery change operation. I watched several. I picked the battery replacement kit that seemed to have the most tools included. On ebay. The plastic pry bars began to shred and shave off on the corners, but I finally got the very snugly fitted case apart, and changed the battery. I was happy to fix a 300 dollar tablet for 15 dollars.

Just replaced the original battery on mine it would still hold a charge although not a very long one... I have been heavily using it nearly daily since purchased in May 2015 & the date code on the Tablets circuit board was 4/18/14.
Mine is T705 version. Battery life is all depend on CPU Usage, Brightness, 3G usage, etc. If i play games, my battery will last about 3 hours (from 100%)... But if i switch to EDGE, lower the brightness (or even turn on the Power Saving mode ON - B/W, Restrict Prfmnce, but data background), and do some chatting via WA. The battery will consume about 5-10% per hour. Which is very fair... But i do agree this tablet is power hungry...
Hi, i am currently facing this problem right. It keeps shutting down and on by itself and shut itself down again. To keep it on for abit more it to let it connect to the charger. And before it shuts down the screen will have this glitch screen. I hope it is just the battery problem.

my tab s got this bat issue after upgraded to lollipop. restart itself if i on mobile data when battery under 50%. it'll keep restarting untill bat drain completely. even after dowgrade back to jellybean bat issue keep occuring. then i upgrade to lollipop again but the problem still there. then i found this at web. this guy unplug the battery connecter from board, clean the pins on board, plug it back and problem solved just like that. so, i did the same... and problem solved. no more random restart, no more restart when on data if bat under 50%. work just fine now. so, if you guys face same problem, try clean the pins or just unplug and plug back battery. hope this trick can help you guys before proceed with battery change or anything else. -sorry for my bad english-
One note; my Tab S will still shut off suddenly if the battery level gets to about 25 percent or lower. Still working fine (better) now, as long as the charge is near full. Before changing the battery it would not run ten minutes.

I had same issue. Think I fried the batt using the turbo charger from my Droid turbo on the Tablet. Now I know better. Just ordered new batt from Phone parts.com for 14$ and a tool kit for 2$ and 4$ shipping. I should be good after the install. Cheers.

OokTiaopi mine was really bad as well but with the new Android 5.0.2 i can watch UA-cam Videos with medium brightness for about 6 hours before it runs under 15% battery

same as mine, n i am quite sure that it is the battery problem. So i called samsung hong kong to check for the bettery price, the only the check-up free is already usd23, excluding the battery. then i asked if i can just buy the battery only (i am afraid that the battery brought elsewhere is fake) n i fix it myself, but they say i can't as the tab s battery is regarding as a electonic parts... it's really disappointed to have a product with battery failure in only 1 year, i understand that the battery will be depreciated, but it should not fail to start up the phone... my previous tab 7.7 battery is still working... how come the quality is going down like this when they are pricing higher n higher
+Tom Wooldridge yes, finally it functions properly after changing the battery. if it's not that urgent, i check that it's better to have it changed at samsung center, cost is more or less the same as outside ~approx. hkd400, but i guess at least the battery is original one at samsung centre (but mine is changed by outsider)
I use this method all the time. 1) turn all the Samsung Features OFF, 2) Turn on Airplane Mode, 3 Turn device off ( for an hour), then turn back device on. Then, turn on ultra saving mode ( if available) , Finally, wait and see if device still restarts it self or if battery dropping significantly . If it's working fine on Air plan mode off, with ultra saving mode on, then take ultra saving mode off and Air plan feature, but keep the Samsung Features turn off. If this doesn't work, try formatting your tablet.

Wow. Mine was working perfectly then ine day it just wouldnt charge. This is definately a samsung issue and there putting these wack cheap batteries in their products
Had the same problem, send it to repair mobile shop. they only change the battery wire which is red n black . now working perfectly. they only change the battery wire. didnt replace the battery. it fix the problem
So I had this same issue. All I did was wipe cache and took out the battery for about 10 min. Put back in and now after one day I haven't had a problem so far. Crossing my fingers.

Have been having this same issue with my 8.4 lte. Its freaking nerve wracking to have 92% charge and then second later 12%.

I got the tablet (SM-T116NU) and it was 1 year and 6 months (Brought from 22Aug16) but it works properly

my tab 4 somerimes doesnt change pracentage when charging, but in reality it does charge the tablet.

Yes, it gets pretty hot. I returned my tablet to the store where I bought it. They sent it to a Samsung service center.

.. Another path, click settings> general> Power saving> turn on restrict performance> Mark CPU performance and screen output.
