- This is a demonstration of how to update your Galaxy Tab S 8.4 to the latest Lollipop 5.0.2 released by Samsung.

Must type in your device model in the search box to find your specific Rom. For me my variant/model is the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 T700.
For those who think it looks like the tablet is lagging in the video you have to keep in mind that on first boot up Android is updating and doing a lot of stuff in the background after the update. Once all that finished the tablet has been running great, nice and fast. Lollipop is here.

First startup it was updating so many apps and things in the background that is why the notification try would not open right at first in the video. Battery life has been good so far, feels really snappy. Material design makes apps look way better on the tablet. All around I'm liking the new update. Still doing some testing on it.

Man, what did you notice the difference after the upgrade? Battery life is better? The tablet speed is faster?
Latest Google play store update 5.5.9 seems to fix not seeing progress in the progress bar when downloading and updating. Just a heads up for this who may have noticed the issue it was a problem with Google play store. Google play store update 5.5.9 should fix that.
Can you still watch Netflix in HD with this update? Heard people are having issues not showing content in HD.
please tell me if any earphones will work on this tab and by that i meant the media control keys and mic fonctions... because my earphones from the previous note 3 and the k zoom won't work ! the sound is okay and great but that's it ...no mic no buttons :(

Hi , nice video, did you notice when you slide on the home screen the notification thing a weird effect when you have a black background, i mean when you slide it down, the black colord coming grey .
Moreover, when its not a full sized background ( you have two black bands ), when you have the full brightness you can see these two black bands by siding the notifications thing become 3-4 smaller grey band , a kind of black saturation/distorsion. Do you have the same , could you check for me ?
I notice that when the picture is poor quality, or the residez too bad ( even with the samsung picture on the tab) you have a high black saturation when sliding home screen and notif. bar)
Hi Jason L can you tell me about the name of your bird live wallpaper that you are using.
For me the media keys on my headphone work perfectly fine. Volume up and down along with holding the call button for Google search on the tablet. All around I had no issues.
Is that the Exynos 5 Octa Core version or is that the Snapdragon 800 version
Bro, when you updated, did you lose any data or applications?
I did everything you did on this video and works excellent, the only minor problem is with Samsung push app the isn't work good so far, I guess probably and update true the market will fix it later.

hey mate , great video ! i was dying for lollipop ! so i have exact same device but im living in iran and i got my tablet from samsungs official store here ofc and its made in vietnam , can i use the same file on my tablet as well ? and if i do for later updates will my device be conisder as a hong kong device since the rom is from there or not thanks
It should work for you also. If anyone else outside of Canada has tried this method on there device please confirm for others. As for your device showing up it should still show up as same device and region without a factory reset. And once lollipop does get released in your region just flash that lollipop build from your country, when it is released of course. I think you should be fine. Just in case make sure to have a copy of your original software running 4.4.2

Download the file associated to you region.
Flash on to you phone in download mode using Odin.
Click AP button in Odin and look for the firmware you downloaded from sammobile.com for the t700.
Let it install.
Do a factory reset if you need to. Factory reset does clear all internal data

okay just wanted to confirm that i installed the file via odin 3.09 no issues at all did hard reset after installation and everything is super snappy and great so far and im loving the lollipop style :P i should mention that my device is galaxy tab s 8.4 lte T705 and ofc i got the right rom for my version . my previous rom was iran and with this one i have had experience no issues so far

from what i see and hear you have to unroot it first install the rom and then root it again
Will my samsung galaxy core prime lollipop update have to be downloaded or will it tell me to do the update cause I'm confused
If the update has been released in your country then just go to settings, about and then force it to search manually for the update.
If it does not manually update then you will have to download the firmware from Sammobile. What country are you in? And what is the model number for your galaxy prime?

What do you mean exactly? By "it" are you referring to the Galaxy Tab S 8.4? If so then if Lollipop 5.0.2 has not been released in your country then you can not update in settings. You will have to use this method to update.
when is it getting realeased
Could be a few months honestly some countries slack with putting their own branding along with apps and such/bloatware in other words. Me along with many people probably do not feel like waiting. That is why I updated and made this demonstration to help others out also.

Gurjot Sanghera no not sure just yet. I have been keeping an eye out but no luck yet. It could be months before we see anything in Canada along with many other countries. That is why I released this video and method demonstration. If a new update is released I will leave a comment here.
Does it need to be rooted?
The new lollipop is bigger then the old kit Kat Rom so you may see your storage level a little higher. If I am not mistaken there are some apps Samsung does have deleted for installing purposes. The install is big so it has something to do with the software making room for itself to install. Most applications and data will still be there. You can reinstall most that do get deleted which are only a very few amount and there are some apps Samsung has removed all together.
Hope that gives you an idea.
Jason L i had the LTE version of this tab. it had SHITTIEST battery. the battery was not the issue, i changed the battery altogether, the issue was with the motherboard. i sold it at about 60% loss. now its so cheap here in my country.
i wanted to know how is battery life now after lollipop? i see a lot of stuttering in your video after lollipop. is it still the case? i also see you have animated wallscreen how is the battery on average? can u make a small video about battery life you are getting? if it has gotten any better i might purchase the wifi only model here.

Shazen Ali battery is great for me. It is fast and snappy now. It was only running slow in the video because it was the first boot up and it was installing a ton of updates in the background for apps, Google play service and all that
Jason L okay so im experiencing first issue , i use to have pure black wallpaper cuz it looks good on amoled and also reduce the battery usage , and now on lollipop when i wana do the same thing for some reason it gives borders kinda shadow borders on top and button of screen even when i pick a pure black wallpaper -.- its pissing me off
After Hours are you using the stock touchwiz launcher or a custom one. I use Nova Launcher for my home screen. Best in my opinion.
yea im using nova as well mate yet i get those annoying big faint lines on top and ذخففخئ of screen :S

Odin 3.09 should be on the XDA website. Or just google Odin. You will find it
