After covid hit my husband and I lost our house we lost our jobs we lost everything literally everything. And we knew living in a hotel we were going to be screwed with the unemployment they were given us because it was just eating up every bit of it. So we ended up getting a tent and we camped we stayed in a spot we were clean we did what we had to do for a couple months to save up money to get an apartment with the unemployment they were giving out. When we were out there we literally were the only people that didn't do drugs we didn't get drunk we didn't beg for money. There wasn't one person we met that wasn't on drugs or doing something to cause their situation. It changed my State of Mind of thinking about the people who are being in these situations. Not everyone is out there because they're addicted some people like us had a hard time and we had to do it we had to do otherwise we would have never got out of that situation. Thankfully we had a plan and we saved our money got an apartment we got jobs when things opened up and things are good now. But it was a situation and an experience that I will never forget and I will never take anything for granted again.

Brevard county is pushing anyone who isn't wealthy out. They want only the 'correct' residents. Homelessness is out of control due to low wages and skyrocketing housing prices. The man who panhandles in the median of 520 is severely mentally disabled. So many are it's heartbreaking. Yes some are homeless due to addiction, but the vast amount just can't make it here. I can't. I'm living out of my camper trailer and can't even find an affordable RV park. It's ridiculous. I'm moving back to NW Georgia. At least I can afford to live there. I'm originally a native to Brevard but the past 25 years it's gone downhill fast, pricing people out and forcing people into the woods. It's sick and it's unnecessary.

I had even gotten back all of my clients for my small cleaning business and am working daily but it's not enough to afford even an RV park (well one that isn't a half step away from a homeless camp). It's sad that they're pushing out the natives for out of town big tech employees, but it is what it is, and between the bigoted idiocy, the county officials corruption I'm out.

Now unless you clear near a hundred grand yearly you will find yourself in a lower standard of living. And it's downhill from there. Even homeowners that have been here for decades are having issues with the property tax hikes and the untenable homeowners insurance rates. Brevard just wants the wealthy, forgetting that no Viera housewife is going to pull an afternoon shift at MacDonalds. Price out the locals and you will price out everyone in the service industry.

Like I said, Brevard county is one of the cruelest counties in Florida to be homeless. If you're poor or broke here, people here are not going to want anything to do with you. Living in Palm Bay, there is a whole stretch of homeless camps in acre's of woods that haven't been built on yet. There are tons of great people who live here obviously don't get me wrong, but I'm just talking about the general population of the area. We definitely have some of the rudest, backwards, and most unfriendly people in the entire state as well. And those who will point to Miami and South Florida say how bad they are with a lot of rude people, as someone who's lived here for 15 years, they outta spend some time here in Brevard. There are some jobs here like the space center, Port Canaveral, businesses, and some tech jobs. The problem is that everywhere is saying they're hiring but no one here in this area wants to hire you. And it just keeps getting worse with the cost of living going up. It's cheaper here compared to other south and central Florida counties, and the reason it is is because this place just traps you because it's an isolated metro regions and over a 30 minute to hour commute to Orlando, Vero Beach, Daytona, and other Florida metros. Not to mention it's crime, homelessness, and drug problems are on the constant rise here. I'm just hoping one day that I can get out of this area.

@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS Yeah and people from where they live are always going to be so quick to just blame other places like "Oh you think Melbourne and Titusville are bad ? Why don't you go visit Miami or Orlando or New York or California and go see all the rude people, all the drug addicts, gang violence, all the crime and misery over there". And I get it, places do have their own problems, but these people who say this don't pay attention to numbers and statistics and either don't recognize or simply just don't care enough to know the facts that it's happening exactly where they're living at. You're blaming all these big cities and more progressive states but you don't realize you're dealing with the same exact situations that could be worse than these places. And despite Brevard being one of the most populated counties in Florida, people who live here think it's this amazing place when it has it's own problems. There's always this blind sense of patriotism for where you grow up and where you live but you can't be blinded by facts and reality. And despite Brevard being one of the most populated counties in Florida, the major growth is really only being kept in certain areas, particularly the southern portion like Viera, the west side of Melbourne, and Palm Bay.

That is familiarly the entire country. I always found it to be the case that America claims to be the great empire of opportunity with all outfits hiring, interviewing, and vetting subjects, but it's always been a ruse a good 90% of everyone's time and efforts while great illusions like high tech rockets, Robots, AI, machines of plenty, and magnificent natural resources in such a huge space only leave most of wishing we had our basic human needs covered with a single set of standards of liberty and justice instead double standard hypocrisy of criminal global conspirators, we might be able to get on with a being a united state instead of war empire of great misery and despair. It won't be long before everyone must go back to talking to one another with group dynamics instead of technocratic social isolation in a world gone seriously wrong.

Let me explain how, city officials actually make money on the homeless situation, first of all, cities need revenue (taxes) to pay for new police cars, city buildings, salaries, etc. So to get those tax dollars to come in, they need a reason to raise taxes, one great reason is to have homeless people that can be used to show the working class that homeless people are a problem, so taxes need to be raised to combat the homeless problem. A new budget gets established for the homeless crisis, people are hired as think-tank executives, to try and come up with a plan to get rid of the homeless. The first plan is to go to the media, to show how bad the problem is, in order to get the working class people, to get behind this newly created committee, now the committee gets the media to film and broadcast how the city is arresting people, and taking apart homelessness camps. So in reality what the city has done is to disperse some of those homeless people to new locations. Now it's time for another news broadcast showing new homeless camps have popped up elsewhere, so now, more tax money is needed to battle this growing problem, so yes more money comes into the city for fighting homelessness. The city now gives it a month or so, then goes into the homeless camps again and splits them up again, (1 camp becomes 2, 2 camps become 4, 4 camps become 8), see where this is going?, the city does not want to fix or help the homeless, because it's a revenue stream for the city, the homeless people are being used to create new positions for the city workers as think-tank employees, always discussing and having meetings on how to combat the issues, but never actually fixing anything, (which is part of the plan), then keep splitting the existing camps, so the number of camps increases, as does the need to raise taxes increases, the city is actually just fooling it's working class, in order to extort money from them, while using the homeless people as the Guinea pigs for this political scam, that's used to extort those tax dollars.
This is done in every city, and works very very well as a way for the city to gain more income.
Also remember, when people are arrested, that city gets paid by the state for each inmate incarcerated, so money is to be made for the city by arresting people, including homeless, so to make additional money for the city, new city ordinances are made, which make it illegal to be homeless or to dig out of trash cans, etc. Because it's all about money.
Hope this shines some light for you, into what's really going on here. 🤠👍

I think it easy to sit back and point a finger at the way local business is run vs what is really going on. Florida especially counties like Brevard have low taxes to attract businesses into these areas. You can't have it both ways as you said a city composed of 86k can't support every person that doesn't want to work or can't. I own a business here and I can't get people to work or find people that will pass a background checks. People come down here chasing the construction booms and they end and it's an expensive place to live.

Jose; my wife and I are presently in this situation in Palm Bay, southern Brevard County. I don't know if you will see this comment, bit but I have saved emails from the Mayor, city councilman, and other political leaders that have denied my wife and i services, or they claim they simply don't have the funding. This is a horrible county. Horrible leadership, and horrible decisions being made by the nonprofit organizations. Im glad you did your part even though you didn't have to. You have done more than the county has. And that's a fact.

This is my home town, been here over 30 years. I see old friends and ex girlfriends holding signs often; its terrible. They just keep raising the bills and building more apartments for all the wealthy people moving from other states that are out bidding locals for housing

    ❤ people helping other people
    Rarity these days....,.....
    God bless you........
    Prayers..........
    I'm from Florida myself
    Now I live in Michigan
We are seeing more Homeless too
    I myself am working poor...
    I know this
So for the last few years now I have gotten rid of most of my possessions
    I've embraced Minimalism......
Just because I know I'm a paycheck away from homelessness I prepare myself as much as I can
    Less is more these days........
    People over Greed
    ❤ one another.........
    Like Jesus said
    God bless you all
    Stay Safe.......

The health care situation in Florida is horrible. I'm sure he doesn't have insurance, so if he does go to the emergency room, they will not help him. They will send him away. I've personally seen it happen several times right there in Melbourne to people who were seriously injured and/or sick. It was wonderful what you did for those folks. I guarantee you that you are the ONLY one who has tried to help them. Thank you for doing that. You're a good person.

@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS you're right about that! It's all about the Benjamins in Florida. All the people in power care about are the rich and powerful. They look down on the poor and misfortunate. I've come to hate that state. It's like they have phased out the middle class (which no longer exists) and here are the results.

More social welfare programs is what helps people like this. Unfortunately, the right wing has vehemently stood against these programs claiming that we’ll become a socialist country. Well, you can’t have your cake and eat it too. These homeless camps are the result of corruption caused by greed from capitalism.

Mental health and drugs have a lot to do with these situations. Im a addict who's been clean 7 years and I've seen similar things and listen not everyone is homeless for those reasons but we definitely have a massive worldwide problem!! The people that want help should get it!! Most don't want it or can't deal with what's needed from them.

This guy needs medical attention, but at least Hydrogen peroxide first, then soaking in hot water with Epsom salt, after that a good triple antibiotic, and may need a prescription triple antibiotic, or an antibiotic. I can't believe with all the money in this country that people are living in these type conditions. There must be a solution to all this! Just because they don't have a residence with a mailing address, they deserve healthcare, food, and garbage pickup. This is unreal, and its getting worse. Don't people realize how this affects everyone?

God Bless you Sir for what you do for these Homeless People , but you are putting your life at risk , they could of hurt or kill you and rob you . This is a Terrible thing to see and I live right over the border in Indian River County , Yes we do have are problems here and are local Churches and Veteran Organizations do help them . I would contact the County or city and have a meeting with the staff , or their are a lot of Chuches in that community that would help these people . Most of these people are drug addicts and have Mental issues that they need help with . They need to get back into Society and find work so they can get out of the situation that their in . I pray for people like them every day , so God got Help them. thanks Pastor Hurricane Sal .
