Hi Speg, I just had a chance to watch the video you did on what turned out to be my fake Silver. Great job! Based on many of the comments it looks like your viewers really appreciated it. Just some quick background on a couple things in case someone asks. I bought all of these pieces on EBay back in my first year of stacking 2014. The stickers that said “FAKE” were put on the holders by me when I suspected they might not be legitimate. That was so I didn’t mistakenly sell them to someone else. I didn’t realize that I might have an issue until probably a year or so after I bought these pieces, and I had no way to test them to be sure of my suspicion. So, thanks so much for testing them and rendering them as useless! Also, thanks for the SpegSwag and the $10 back!! You sure didn’t have to do that! I’ll continue to keep watching as you always have interesting content. Thank you my stacking friend! Dan
I propose a new anti-counterfeit law... Purchaser may hit the seller with a baseball bat equal to the # of oz they bought...plus DOUBLE their money back.
What are the best fakes? The ones that have not been discovered, and have happy owners. Speg, please keep educating us. As the value of our stacks increase along with Silver prices, fakes will be better and more abundant. Buyer Beware, Be Informed.
I feel sorry for Dan... I keep a close eye on anything I might purchase but now I'm worried... Will have to find a friend with a verifier. These things make me crazy mad. 😠 Thanks Speg, for putting these videos out there.
The art and proofing work on legit pandas is phenomenal, it's hard to find a fake that looks right even just at a glance if you've held a real one imo.
I learn a lot from these videos- the good and the bad! Btw I ordered that same Verifier and they’re back ordered for nine weeks. They told me the demand has gone through the roof this year.
After watching this video I went through my Silvertowne bars and found nine of the bad donkeys. They were all from the same website. SMH. Need to get a Sigma. update - after further inspecting the bars I found them to be real silver. I had purchased some silver rounds in May from the same store and found that two of them are fake though.
Looks like the Sigma machines are on backorder pretty much everywhere at present. The factory store says the Original machine is about 8 weeks out and they don't even have the Pro machine currently available. Glad I bought my Pro last October while they were easy to get! You should get a chop saw with a metal-cutting blade and neatly cut those fakes in half; then the internal composition would be really obvious.
Well done and thanks for highlighting these things, and good on Dan for sending them, hope we all stay away from that fake trash now. Use your eyeballs and apply some logic and its done :)
Thank you for this video. I received one of those exact silver town bars and thanks to you I now know because of the picture of the miner and mule, it's a fake.
I dont know how in a age where it's so easy to buy and stack real gold and silver with online dealers almost in every state. Apmex Jm bulion SD bulion and hundreds more people still take chances on buy fake's just to get a better deal.
I bought a SIGMA and it sure made me feel safer. I did find a lot of fake from one seller and did get my money back. It was from a gift shop and not a dealer. One thing else to look out for. Gift shops do not know about real and fake like coin or bullion dealers. I never buy from overseas dealers also. The SIGMA was the best $700 I ever spent.
I’m a beginner, great video, I only wished to see the verifier sensor with your genuine silver on it...do you do that in another video? Again thanks for the lesson I’m thankful to have seen this early in my collecting journey
i earn back my sigma when i detected a one ounce gold panda coin before i buy it, so u tell me if it's worth $700-800 for a sigma verifier? esp when u stack thousands of oz of silver and whole stack of gold....btw u dun want to hold 20-30oz of gold and after 10 years, the dealer in LCS tells u: "sorry sir all your 30 oz gold pandas are fake..."
@ptaeiy becos it is just too tedious to measure it as compared to the Sigma. imagine u need to do such test for hundreds of silver or gold bars or coins. just not so practical. btw u also need to buy the gel and some of these gel not sure if it harmful to the silver or collector stuff..
@ptaeiy great! yes, the UTM is very useful in detecting big bar and expensive gold bars like the Kilo gold bar.. at least it gives u a peace of mind and not after 10-15 years u take it out from your storage and then realised it is a fake one...that will really hurts...
The skeleton donkey doesn't mean they are fake 100% if the time to my understanding, I have a few from a reputable LCS and the same skeleton donkey bars are listed on JM bullion and other reputable online bullion dealers.
So maybe a known thing but while I have a lot of silver coins and rounds I have no bars. So do bars have the same sound as rounds and coins , ping for lack of better wording?
98% of the bars and rounds I bought on Ebay were fake. I got refunded but I now only buy small US coins with silver. Too many fake Morgans and other big coins so I stick to the small denominations.
oh my! I need to get this Sigma machine. I have many panda silver rounds that some might be fake as I bought a few online at local Facebook coin collection groups.
I bet he got those panda coins for $10 a piece at an antique store. Even with the internet, it is hard to compare coins real vs fake until you have purchased them and do testing. Sadly I have made that mistake.
I'm not even an expert, and I could tell just by looking at those that they were fake. The bars had sharp corners and the images were terrible. No panda is that thick or thin. And last of all you can pretty much tell from the sound they make, silver against silver has a distinct sound that cannot be duplicated.
wish u could saw the fake silver bars into half to let us see the inside material..and also to saw the real one, to compare...LOL>>>>>nice video! liked!!!!
One thing I was surprised was that you didn't comment on the diagonal reeding on the thicker Panda (Unless that is on the legit coin too. I don't know because I don't have any)
Good video so sad how people can jst rip other's off with no remorse and its sad that even with a $700 tester with the smaller size gold bars can still be off
Hi, I have a panda friendship /gold and a 1989//one tenth ounce gold 1989 The other 1987 even smaller . Both encased ,, I don't think there fake . Anybody know the value ?
Hummmm. could you give them to a High School with a jewelry making art class. They could melt them down and use them for practice pieces. Just a thought.
Fake silver disturbes me. Fakes are kinda cool little pieces of metal. But dont go selling them as real. You could probly sell them as cheap little collectibles. But have people know they are not precious metals🤷♂️
I agree with you mr bullion some fakes look really good maybe put a stamp on the edge to that people know that they are fake but some are sill nice to look at

Good reason to go to your LCS! JJ TWO Thumbs Up!
You have great hand writing :).
Never trusted eBay for anything..sorry for you..😢 thanks for letting us newbies know!
I propose a new anti-counterfeit law... Purchaser may hit the seller with a baseball bat equal to the # of oz they bought...plus DOUBLE their money back.
Bought a sigma and a magnet off Ebay. Both tested my Ebay silver as legit. Turns out both the sigma and magnets were fake.
Made in China 😯😐😄😂
What are the best fakes? The ones that have not been discovered, and have happy owners.
Speg, please keep educating us. As the value of our stacks increase along with Silver prices, fakes will be better and more abundant. Buyer Beware, Be Informed.
WOW THERE'S NOTHING WORSE THAT A COUNTERFEITER
The only thing better is Jail time for them.
HIS MOTHER?!!
Thank you for all of your hard work and for helping to keep the community informed..
I appreciate it..👍
I feel sorry for Dan... I keep a close eye on anything I might purchase but now I'm worried... Will have to find a friend with a verifier. These things make me crazy mad. 😠 Thanks Speg, for putting these videos out there.
It’s really sad that people would go through such lengths to counterfeit products...it takes the fun out of collecting 😞
Yeah I noticed the skeleton mule right from the start. Love the knife digging into the bars and rounds. It told the whole story. Thumbs up.
Your videos are always entertaining...different intro every time. I like it
Glad you enjoy it!
@@Spegtacular i always cheer along with the kids lmao

Oops ;)
12:33 🤣 I know that feeling from hearing dry erase markers
Good video again. Always learn something new. Your videos have helped me a lot on my silver stacking journey

I don't want any rounds or bars. Eagles and 90% US junk only for me.
*I just love currency unboxings! It's my thing.* ;)
Thanks ST for all your valuable info you put on these videos. Appreciated.
Thought I would comment on the hand writing in the letter. I think it's a nice and easy to read script. Love this vid. thank you for sharing.
Well done and thanks for highlighting these things, and good on Dan for sending them, hope we all stay away from that fake trash now. Use your eyeballs and apply some logic and its done :)
Another great segment😀
12:01 got down to the brass tacs
Thanks, I enjoy the videos on fakes. You should use a fake bar or coin for target practice the next time you get one and show the results. 😃
Thank you for this video. I received one of those exact silver town bars and thanks to you I now know because of the picture of the miner and mule, it's a fake.
Great video brother, nice info on identifying the fakes. Have a golden day.
I dont know how in a age where it's so easy to buy and stack real gold and silver with online dealers almost in every state.
Apmex Jm bulion SD bulion and hundreds more people still take chances on buy fake's just to get a better deal.
Thanks for the show I love the heads up I’ve been able to see what’s out there and watch out for those gotcha fake bullion.

Thank you, you may have just saved me $1200 I would have been so pissed off if this happened to me. Great video!

Yes.
I know there's a joke about Chinese silver and "Ping" in there somewhere.
i earn back my sigma when i detected a one ounce gold panda coin before i buy it, so u tell me if it's worth $700-800 for a sigma verifier? esp when u stack thousands of oz of silver and whole stack of gold....btw u dun want to hold 20-30oz of gold and after 10 years, the dealer in LCS tells u: "sorry sir all your 30 oz gold pandas are fake..."

Your best video, ....next to the coin guy ones. Great job.
Thanks 👍

It would interesting to know where he bought them, just to warn others , not to buy there.
eBay.
very cool - thanks Speg :)

@ptaeiy thank you
my sister has two pandas and I can tell you that they are so pretty that those ugly things put them to shame.
Skeleton donkey lolol
There is a lot of Silver Towne fake bars on Ebay. You can tell by just looking at them.
Thank you spectacular you just proved that I need a sigma analytics machine. Lol🏴☠️
Dam man, get a Dremmel tool and save your fingers. I was waiting for blood if fingers slipped.
I bet he got those panda coins for $10 a piece at an antique store. Even with the internet, it is hard to compare coins real vs fake until you have purchased them and do testing. Sadly I have made that mistake.

Love these fake vids. Keep it up!
I am looking for a sigma myself , but have one I can use luckily. But yes like they used to say in the 70's if it looks off.... get a test!
One thing I was surprised was that you didn't comment on the diagonal reeding on the thicker Panda (Unless that is on the legit coin too. I don't know because I don't have any)
The legit ones have diagonal reeds too ✌️
hahhaahha that sounds like ROCK.... ahahahah how dare you buy a Chinese silver duddddeee
Nice Tester
Good video so sad how people can jst rip other's off with no remorse and its sad that even with a $700 tester with the smaller size gold bars can still be off
I want to get a scale just like that, is there a link?
I meant the first scale, blue LED
WOW. Thanks.
Thanks for the info! Poor horse looks more like an overworked and dead on his feet donkey!

Hi, I have a panda friendship /gold and a 1989//one tenth ounce gold 1989 The other 1987 even smaller . Both encased ,, I don't think there fake . Anybody know the value ?
The cheapest one and its 700$ 🤣🤣🤣 but love your vids man
Same one that are on wish app...why can they sell these???
Chinese fake silver is easy to identify! Different sizes and designs!
That's some shit right there !
Wish I could get one of those testersI will be glad to take the fake stuff after you destroy it. If it is brass I can melt it into a bar
Hummmm. could you give them to a High School with a jewelry making art class. They could melt them down and use them for practice pieces. Just a thought.
eBay?
I think it would be cool to instead of sending money back send him equivalent in coins or even some of the foreign currency
great idea Duane! please send me your gift to Dan and I will forward it to him. I appreciate your offer of generosity!
How to identify it's easy ,it's all on eBay 🥴
he probably bought this shit on ebay
should have worn cotton gloves just in case it turns out real. To prevent finger prints on real silver.
Haha seeing this sorry people knowing they have fakes and still selling
or Luis lol
I could fill your bucket twice with just silver Morgan silver dollars that are fake
my nephew gave me some of the silver towne bars... FAKE
