    bought two 10ozt OPM bars and was a little skeptical on legitimacy, tested on a scale, both weighed in about 10 +/- .01 and me just to be 105% sure they were legit, I did your ice test which both passed and completely blew my mind on a whole scientific level. Thanks for the video

    Similar story goes with my 140 year old victorian house. Original owner lived here many years and was quite wealthy. Never put money in the bank. Never married. Dropped dead in the dining room. Legend is he had a lot of gold or silver hidden on the property. I detected the front lawn and side lawn so far. Just a couple old coins, a skeleton key, and a girl's size gold ring. Next spring I continue the search. Thx for the tips Gary.

    Gary, I had the time to compile a list of the absolute best videos of 2017 with my subscribers and friends in the hobby. You won, hands down, for the 2017 Best Adventure Video. It was the helicopter assault of the deep river nugget hole using the hooka rig. Best vid out there by far. The finds were a bust unfortunately, but it was the most exciting adventure of the year! • @SomervilleBob
    @SomervilleBob 6 років тому

    I didn't know about the ice test. Makes sense. When I used to repair silver, I'd have to heat the whole piece to solder a shank. Silver is expensive to repair as the jeweler has to remove all the stones first to heat the piece. Karat gold was much easier, I would only hit the area I wanted to solder with the torch. Wouldn't have to remove any stones.

    Gary, take that rare earth magnet and drop it through a piece of copper pipe and notice how slowly it falls, you can actually see a visual distortion that is created by the 2 magnetic fields that are being created. This is basically, or is part of Lens's Law and it is what makes an electric motor run. When a magnetic field is introduced into a conductor a magnetic field and a current is created.
    in the conductor. Thats the basics of it anyways, I'm sure there is someone out there who can critique my explanation. Try the copper pipe though, its fun

    • @TwoToes
      @TwoToes  6 років тому +2

      Don't know why, but it's still a lot of fun. I thought it got stuck in the pipe for a minute, just about the time I way going to check, it dropped out the bottom. I got a shorter piece of pipe, about 3 feet long and watched it go down, it kind of cork screws slowly down the pipe. Too cool, Thanks - Gary

      Over the years I have found a dozen or so " treasures" most were small amounts of coins people tucked away. I did find a large leather bag full of coins ( about the size a football ) in the wall of a old cellar. Thought I was rich, but they were all Chinese coins! The one thing that stands out in the treasure story is it was buried 18 inches deep. People don't bury treasure for some one to find later. Most of the time, it is located so they can get to it easily, it was their bank. They want to get in and out quick. It would take a lot of time and work to dig that deep. When looking for treasure, the method I use is where would I put it. The best thing about treasure stories, it gives you a reason to go out and look, you might not find it, but you will probably find something while looking. You need to do a video on the search for the treasure - it would be fun.

    • @PioneerPauly
      @PioneerPauly 6 років тому

      Two Toes Wow thats incredible! I knew you have quite the expierence prospecting, but your a treasure finder too! Finding coins in a bag or cache would be exiting any way I looked at it. You are totally right about how deep and why people would burry things. Why would you burry something invaluable, or important where you risk not finding it again? If I hid that boot, I would put it in a place easy enough for me to get to but also in an area where a detector would have trouble (like in a pile of junk metals). But back when that boot was hidden, they were not thinking of detectors! But yes searching for treasures is always fun and really can lead you to new discoveries along the way. I wrote down this idea for a video upload for the near-ish future! It would be fun to make for sure :D. Thanks again Gary!

      Shipping cost are so high and so many restrictions, it would have to go by truck. The hassel is to time comsumming, and the cost is high because they charge for the area it takes up, even tho it has little weight. To save on shipping, I used to drive to the manafucture and load my truck and trailer, it was a 14 hour round trip. I have made 2 trips to Sturgis on my bike, it is a long trip!.

    4:10 1,500 ounces found split by 1/2 = 750 ounces kept. If silver is worth $17 per ounce x 750 ounces = $12,750. Is this correct? If so, great return for you time. How much time/expenses did it take to find it?

    Googled Diametic, Diametric, quick look, couldn't find.
    I think the drag of the magnet is generating current. Google, Drop a magnet through copper pipe, even though magnet doesn't stick to the pipe, you can see the resistance or slowing down as it falls through. Another video shows dropping a magnet through a coil of wire with an LED attached, it briefly lights as Magnet falls through. Motors use copper(non magnetic), and a Magnet, who should have think it. Like to test,droppi g a magnet through a gold pipe to test. So for I have the Magnet. Intetesting.

  • @joegoedhart1259
    @joegoedhart1259 6 місяців тому

    I found the ice test the most inaccurate. 2oz silver vs bench top, no probs but when i did 6 1oz bars, they all melted at differant rates. How do you judge a puddle of water? They are all the same size. One melted fast, one melted slower than another one, but faster than the bench top, 3 melted even slower, but still faster than the bench top and in the end, the bench top had enough of a puddle to be no noticible differance. I could have speculated and taken an educated guess, but im sticking with the gravity test.
