VOICE OF TRESPASS // LYRICS
Come a little closer now… let me tell you what you need:
A snake-tongued devil by your side
I will creep right through your mind and swim right through your veins…
Let your blood flow over me
I want to dine in your mind
Trust me… we’ll take it from here
Let’s all hold these dreams in our broken hands of filth
Replace… begin… forget it all
Shut it off… now… all of it
I’ll make you understand that they are really here and gone
I want to dine in your mind
Collapse on you
The inner rot
We are the Voice of Trespass
Voice of Trespass
We hang you out to dry…
Dollar signs in your eyes…
Crooked steps by design…
You’re going somewhere fast…
It will never last…
Disembowel your formal aim…
I’ll start slithering… my pockets are getting big… the dollars are in my eyes
The Voice of Trespass
We hang you out to dry…
Dollar signs in your eyes…
Crooked steps by design…
You’re going somewhere fast…
It will never last…
Disembowel your formal aim…
Voice of Trespass
The lizard tongue snaps at its prey
Clinking glass of celebration… another puppet is lost in our world
Jolted out of their reverie…
Enclosed/ dispose/ disclose
Break out… break free
The lizard tongue snaps at it’s prey
This is not perfection
Find yourself…
Wake up
Please wake up
We are hollow
Condemned to the gallows

What a unique piece of music. Serious respect.
teach me how to mage
Hansol how
Like Dance of Ethernity by Dream Theater, just fantastic!
Haven't listened to much Devin Townsend? The intro here is similar to Bad Devil in a way.
Do you know Diablo Swing Orchestra?
I love how BTBAM can still make me shake my head while smiling from ear to ear thinking: "How did they just combine all these styles and made it work".
patfix OMG I LITERALLY DID THIS BEFORE READING YOUR COMMENT
I always smile whenever I listen to this
Can't decide if I should snap my fingers or headbang to this one.
Zmurfff00 Both at the same time
you can alternate the two things
I think we have to snap our . . . necks?
Headsnap? Snapbang?
I heard that the audience has a tough time choosing between the charleston and a mosh pit when they play this live.
anyone else just absolutely love that little drum break-down/solo right smack-dab in the middle?? It's just... magic.
Technical Diablo Swing Orchestra. I love it
HOLY SHIT!! I was listening to this and thought it was a mix between Mr. Bungle and Diablo Swing Orchestra - I dig it!
The 2020s need some goddamn SWING music, and BTBAM knows.
Diablo, Devin and Patton thrown into a blender.
Also Trepalium.
Yes very nice! On my 1st listen, I immediately thought of Dog Fashion Disco's 'Pogo The Clown.' DFD & BTBAM, great concert waiting to happen, right?!
Creative doesn't even begin to describe this band.
I was lucky enough to see them open for Dillinger Escape Plan in Chicago in 2005. I never imagined they’d get this good. I’m from Alaska, so I was biased from the get go. The step between Alaska and Colors was mind blowing. They haven’t stopped since then.
I put this song in the tip top tier with Ants of the Sky and the Ectopic Stroll.
What other band can marry Mr. Bungle with Queen? True technicians and great song writers.
When will BTBAM become a genre?
Best comment!
As soon as anyone else in this world could make music like this.
So... Never.
There's no debate after this album (but really colors) that they're the best prog band alive
I like to call them Between the Pink Floyd and Meshuggah. I think it's a perfect way to describe this awesome band.
Ryan Kennedy has been for over ten years
They've always been their own.
Dude, is this band even real? Unparalleled musicianship.
Tyler Williams _Unparallaxed_
Lucas Bruno bravo sir
My manager at work like Rush, Greatful dead and lotta classic rock....but he is a stubbourn ass...I'll post my guess reaction about this "meh yeah not bad."
BTBAM are seriously one of the greatest bands out there. Wouldn't say the best because music is subjective, but analyzed from various objective points like quality of playing, perseverance, evolution, passion, composition... they are the top (not alone, but at the top for sure).
Not best for sure. Lyrically they are pretty weak and always have been. But imo you can argue the instrumentally they are best (i would argue for Yes as well)
@@jamiehoward6505 Lyrically weak? What band were you listening?
We legitimately don't deserve BTBAM.
This music is absolutely beautiful.
I agree man. I owe so much to this guys. They gave (and still give) me so much joy with their music. It's truly unbelievable.
This is possibly the most unique song I’ve ever heard. Can’t stop listening, there is SO much going on in this song. Beautiful!!!
This really reminded me why these guys are my favorite band.
Dude, saaaaame!!!!!
Same
This sounds like Sonic music.
Everything sounds like Sonic music to you dude.
lol sonic fan 4 life.
Blake Richardson continues to evolve and become a better drummer which is mind blowing. Such a great drummer who writes great drum parts. Also his Tama starclassic bubinga hyperdrive drums sound amazing on this album and they are the best sounding drums I’ve ever heard live.
Yes my friend, he is an absolute beast. I have loved Tama for years, and seeing them recently, as you said, it was a shockingly amazing live drum sound. Totally blew me away. This whole band is top notch on every level. I am a guitar nerd too so I get to geek out on all of their gear.
They have spectatular taste in gear. Grew up on an Ibanez S Series long before I discovered Paul favoured them (eventually scoring himself a badass custom based off the S series). The sound of Blake's Sabian Holy China on Specular Reflection from Parallax I... fucking hell... And they play like goddamn machines live, no other band inspires so much awe in me
I also like use of cymbals ...little bit of jazz and "less is more" techniques instead of constant double bass and speed. He's proven to be "all around".
Andy Ham saw them in Chicago recently and I can confirm it sounded fuego.
Andy Ham he is an awesome drummer
Swing music with death metal growl? Yes please 😀😀😀
Please check out Diablo Swing Orchestra. You won't regret it.
Stoner_T-Boner saw their name in comments and checked them out. Amazing! Where has swing metal been all my life?
Yasser Wallaby58 If y'all want your mind blown check out Igorrr. Cheval is a good place to start. Less swing and more polka-baroque-french stuff.
Try also Trepalium, typical swing with death metal from France !
Check out Bad Devil by Devin Townsend.
BTBAM can even slay in ragtime.
Saw them play last night at House of Blues in Houston. They finished the set with this track. So amazing and mentally exhausting witnessing this level of complexity and precision played live at full volume. What an experience.
3:42 transition is insane.
Fuck yeah. The song explodes on that point.
THIS IS NO PERFECTION!!!
Btbam is one of the greatest metal bands of all time.
Dar0x Humbersland That would be a bold claim.
Btbam is o̶n̶e̶ ̶o̶f̶ the greatest m̶e̶t̶a̶l̶ band of all time.
Not bold enough!
Jef Whitehead you're burnt
Jef Whitehead come at me with a legitimate argument on how this and btbam arent metal instead of making fourth grade level insults against someone with a different opinion lmao
When you're a prog metal fan and a BTBAM fan and you are used to madness but damn you didn't see it coming. This song was just mindblowing to me...I'd never expect something like this...thank you for existing.
Damn, this song absolutely *SLAPS*
Broadway metal.
LOL accurate
You're thinking of Native Construct there
Hhahahahahshshsshs
So we meet again
There's a post hardcore band called BROADWAY , check them out they're vibes are highly energetic and amazing ^^
This is so fucking good. Reminds me of None of them Knew they Were Robots by Mr. Bungle and i didn't think i'd ever hear anything like that again.
Bobby Torres good call man, very Mr. Bungle-ish..🤘👍
Right? God forbid anyone be inspired by anything, ever.
Calling somebody gay and a band gay, are you stuck in 1998? Are you still using dial up and Napster too?
M 0C you're a fat virgin aren't you? at least admit it like the rest of us.
M OC ah yes because playing music other than in standard 4/4 time and being creative (as is the case with prog) is clearly wankery lol. Nothing about this track is wankery. Malmsteen and Petrucci stuff can be Wankery and I say that as a fan of both but this is definitely not wank lol. You don't like it that's cool.
PS: At least BTBAM have progressed as a band over the years instead of playing the same shit for the last 30 plus like Slayer has. I also say that as a 20 year fan of Slayer as well.
"This is not perfection" WRONG this is perfection!
Always semi enjoyable the first listen. Then I progressively fall in love the more I listen to it haha. So much content per song, I'm always lost
hehehe progressively
@@mammalmutilator Exactly the same thing for me. Motivates me to always give them the benefit of the doubt even when I think I don't like a song.
The first time I heard it, I IMMEDIATELY FELL IN LOVE WITH IT
I cant even begin to say how fucking awesome this song is. I was laughing during this track at how good it is. Just listened to the whole album and im super happy and cant stop smiling. Thanks BTBAM! Cant wait to see you July 27th!
tom ridley july 31st here
Same here my dude, this shit had my jaw on the floor the whole time.
Amazing...
tom ridley I'm going to the same show, so fucking pumped to hear this live!
BTBAM is basically the only band where I laugh uncontrollably when hearing a new album for the first time. They are all just so good that it's ridiculous
So good make ya cry a little
I am absolutely so in love with this track.
Me too
as a huge "diablo swing orchestra" fan, this tickle my itch for jazz metal. it's boring when one band has a monopoly on one of the genre that has the most potential. i think i'll start digging this band a bit deeper to find out if it was just a one time thing or if they did multiple songs like this.
so, i dug both "automata" albums, this is not swing metal but it sure is good.
So happy this metalbop song hasn't gotten a single dislike yet, what a great innovative song
i gave it one...i LOVE btbam but the first half of this is fucking stupid. horns in a btbam song??? FOH with that shit....
extremophile elite had horns wtf this isn't new.
yes, for about 45 seconds...not 4 and a half minutes straight. this shit sounds like Muse or mighty mighty bosstones...
this song is just flat out cheesy. i love every other song on aut1 and 2....this will be removed from my playlist for sure though....you enjoy it if you like it bro, thats what its all about...
or i should say....after 4 minutes this song is cool...
Love the first half, but that second half is a thing of pure beauty and badassery.
Between The Dear Hunter And Me
It's not fair. Music shouldn't be this good. This jams and kicks so much ass at the same time. I love BTBAM!
I really really wanna listen to this song for the first time again
Between the rag time and me
Nice!
Guitar at 6:08 reminds me of the flute on nes legend of zelda. Awesome
I've been scrolling through the comments to find someone else who noticed! lol
@@2UltimateZWarrior2 i see you are a man of culture as well
A little bit yeah, I hear it
Brillant! They managed to feature a dozen of different musical genres within 8 minutes, and all fit together 👌🏾
I stopped putting these guys in a genre years ago. Just throw their new album on, and enjoy the ride. Theres always something new and awesome.
its pretty easy to throw them into a genre which is prog. prog literally demands you to do stuff like this.
@@disres1337 Yeah, I'm pretty sure everybody considers them prog, but you can get a lot more specific with prog, (prog death, prog power etc) and this is where it becomes hard to classify btbam
They're like SOAD in the days
This is by far my favourite BTBAM song. Maybe not my favourite album, but this song is them at their peak.
this track alone makes the album worth it, i just listen to this over and over hahah.
hey, ya like jazz
2:56 Blakey Rich
Dat collab with The Dear Hunter really inspired this guys!
Like for the DIablo Swing Orchestra vibes ^_^
This is so amazing. Prog swing is my new thing now.
Best song off the album. Such a weird and groovy song.
I love the vibe of this song
This is beyond perfection!
I used to love BTBAM. I still do.. but I used to, too.
Srsly tho, They rlly capture man's chaotically structured minds in the form of music. I enjoy all forms of bands, especially when I'm out & about. But BTBAM is my personal favorite. They really can create a theme & I get this obscure relatability. It's just encapsulating. It's like a uniquely written story
Nice Mitch reference
I think Bigfoot is blurry, that’s the problem.
same
Was not expecting to get blown away tonight. What a fantastic composition, such a great progression. Mad respect.
we are so blessed to have BTBAM.
My favourite genres together whoaaaa I thought that was impossible
My new favorite song!
Hating me is conforming boi, you gotta another BTBAM song to request to reactors lol.
Alecin Solidarity hell yeah!
Hating me is conforming hopefully they will, cause I enjoyed this as well.
Same here!
Dan: Can I play contrabass in a song? - The rest of the band: Yes, why not?
Wow. I'm still sittin here in amazement at what I just heard! They are such a versatile band and they never cease to amaze me! Whatever I just heard I loved it! Definitely playing this one back again!
😁✌One Love
The Ectopic Stroll is one of my favourite songs in Coma Ecliptic because it sounds so different and I love the carnival vibe it has going on. So this song just does it for me again. Coma Ecliptic is my favourite BTBAM album and although I really enjoyed Automata I, I think I'm liking II a bit more, since it has a sound more simillar to Coma Ecliptic. Anyways, can't wait to see these guys live with Tesseract and Plini!
João Ferreira colors live man nothing will ever beat that album for me but this is soooooooooo gooood
Same here. I loved Coma Ecliptic and Automata II is so fucking good.
That was my favorite song on CE too, nothing will ever beat Colors though, Colors live too because that show was on another level
I wonder if touring with The Dear Hunter gave em any ideas... Haha this is sick
I bet they did. To me, they've always sounded alike.. just different genres.
They recorded the entirety of Automata before the tour, though who knows how much they listened to them beforehand, while they were writing?
Between the concepts and love of motif, there's definitely similarities.
True! And maybe haha just instantly got reminded of some stuff from Act IV and this is such a cool curveball for BTBAM.
Probably not. Dan said the idea of the main chorus riff has existed for over 10 years now.
Sing Along Songs for Between the Buried and Me. I love it
Cant wait for the live dvd
I love this so much. Keep pumping out the jams my dudes. Automata I/II was excellent.
Literally the best at whatever they choose to do.
My socks got blown off and now they're in a different area code.
It should straight up illegal to make music this good.
If I was driving, I would 100% have crashed just because of how stunned I was...
Think of the children and families, btbam.
Hahaha THINK OF THE CHILDREN AND FAMILIES!!!
BTBAM ruins music for everyone else, too fucking good.
D It's normal don't want to listen to anything else, after this? It's normal not feel the same way before??? Those guys must be somewhere out of this damn world man... I'm telling you guys... It must be something on the water they drink! But what is it?!
k r You've spent a lot of time in this comment section trashing BTBAM. Did you know BTBAM and DTP have actually toured together? Multiple times? Sometimes DTP even OPENED for BTBAM? I think they're pretty good friends. Hey since you know Devin so well why don't you go ask him what he thinks of this song?
I heard the song you sent, and I really don't see the "rip-off". Diablo Swing Orchestra is also a thing, did they rip off Devin? I also listen to Mr Bungle, so being a "wacky", genre defying, experimental band is the sole idea of Mike Patton and his side project from the 80s and 90s? I'd suggest listening to Parallax 2 and Coma Ecliptic for some incredibly unique musical experiences....but it seems you already know everything there is to know about music and BTBAM's discography. Obvious troll is obvious.
Masterpiece.
What a phenomenal band, easily the most talented and the true risk takers of Sumerian (animals as leaders is a good second for me)
I really like the drum section from 2:56-3:05. This song would be really interesting to hear live.
These guys are incapable of not delivering
They played this as the encore for night 1 of the colors experience tour, I had never heard it before, now I can't stop listening to it 😅
I love how the first part always makes me happy and creates the urge to dance around like an idiot. Then the last 3 minutes are so sinister and bleak, the "We are hollow..condemned to the gallows" part always gives me chills.
amazing drummer.
Are there any other songs like this? This style is so good.
You should listen Diablo Swing Orchestra
this is kinda old but i can't recommend jhariah enough!
Proud to be from the same area as these guys. Has been one hell of a ride!
This is mr bungle level of genre crashing.
Incredible
This may be the best song on both albums.
It's seriously amazing how fresh material this guys still put out. I'ts their ninth/tenth album and they are still making unique, crazy, heavy, beatiful and worth to listen music. They have so much years ahead as a band. I really hope they continue like this for many many years more.
first song ive heard of them and they remind me alot of mr bungle to be honest
Sometimes I find it hard to believe that a band can be this interesting to listen to for so long. They have been my favorite band since 2006 and they have not gotten boring.
Just unbelievable how BTBAM reimages any musical style & turns it into a marvel! ❤️🙏
My favourite track on the album!
This is such a sick song, favorite off the new album
Gold.
Best album of 2018
This has been my favourite band for about 10 years and they still pull out stops I didn't know existed.
I haven't even finished my first listen of this song but, it's easily my favorite BTBAM song now
Sounds like touring with the Dear Hunter rubbed off on them. Loving this track!
This song make me think about Trepalium anf his Moonshine Limbo! Some kind of "swing & charleston& metal"...and so much more....2 of my favorite and creative bands!
BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME are Technical Death Metal Gods. Very underrated. Keep the albums coming guys.
First heard this on Liquid Metal. This is a very interesting mixing swing with metal. Most people would think they wouldn't go together, but it does!
I have no idea what the hell to describe this as, but I dig it.
Amazing piece of music from btbam once again. After a few listens of automata 2 I'm loving it. Memories of the colors album live gig at the underworld Camden in London still my favourite gig ever. Come back to the UK and I'll be there.
I beg to differ. This IS perfection!
Why does nobody talk about the ending? it's one of the most haunting things I've ever heard
I came here from a comment suggestion on Drift from Guilty Gear Strive. After hearing how good it managed to make Swing and Metal sound together, I wanted more. Glad I found this cause this slaps!
BTBAM, I've been waiting for a song like this for the longest time!
Reminded me of Native Construct
my boys :(
Thank you for your music !
And your creative genius.
Seriously a masterpiece
Anyone who says metal is mindless and "RAAAH RAAAH RAAAAH"; though they're totally entitled to their opinion, should listen to this. The level of musicianship and overall deepness is undeniable.
Perfection
Hella good
Great show in raleigh tonight!! So jazzed. Keep up the great work!
Easily the best one from Automata II.
Definitely. I liked part I a lot more to be honest
number 4 for me...this swing and horns shit is fucking stupid...
wut the swing and horns shit is fucking awesome as hell
nah, its cheesy as fuck. the horns on P2 served a purpose....this is just fucking dumb. this song would have slayed without the james brown horn section.
no its fucking creative and sounds awesome. but this is your opinion.
The swing feel made this sound suitable for a super mario game, super sick stuff!
This song is amazing live. Certainly got the crowd going.
