    Hey man! I've been flipping PCs for the past year, and have stuck to the regiment of pairing an older AM4 chip with either a 970 or 980 4GB. This yields only around $100 in profit per build, due to the nature of the GPU market and all. Should I switch to lower end systems with lower end processor/GPU combos?

    I've been building systems, servers and networks for over 30+ years and if there is one hard truth I have learned, people are Generally cheap when it comes to their computers. They'll spend $1,500-$2,500 on a new phone BUT baulk about spending more than $1,000 or more and if you want to actually build yourself up as a trustworthy and reliable builder, this isn't going to cut it.

    How do you account for the expenses for flipping not related to the cost of the parts themselves? You have to take time to find deals, go get them, maybe clean or refurb them, build the PC, benchmark it, list it and deliver it. All of those things are "expenses" which reduce your gross profit. How do you keep track and account for those things to determine how much money you really made? It might also include what you make making a video about flipping the PC.

    Hey man, once the pc is built what sort of tests do you run on it? I know I should test it on games and such, but this can be a time consuming process to download games and all that. Do you just run some basic benchmarks or do you go through the whole thing of downloading and testing games. Thanks!

    • @BrandonYen
      @BrandonYen  Рік тому +1

      I think I mentioned it in the video but I keep a test drive with the games and benchmarks so that I don't have to redownload (I just use display driver uninstaller before switching to a new PC so there are no conflicts between graphics drivers). As for apps that you use for stability tests, Cinebench, Unigine Heaven, memtest86, and CrystalDiskMark are useful. However, I would highly recommend testing games as most people will want to know what kind of performance they will be getting with the system. Common games include GTA 5, Fortnite, COD games, Minecraft, CS:GO, League of Legends, and Valorant (basically most esports titles).

    • @BrandonYen
      @BrandonYen  2 роки тому +6

      Buying something used usually puts the risk on the buyer, so I tell them that if there’s any issues when you first set it up then I’ll give them their money back. Otherwise, it’s not ideal to give a warranty over a long period of time (unless it’s paid).
