I sized the texture exact, height and width and it is not projected. When I place the texture on the different faces on the cilinder, the texture is not placed in a good order, the texture is not nicely wrapped around. What is going wrong? In the end, Fredo6 ThruPaint did the job correct.
I need to do the reverse. I have a 50 gallon drum and I am putting a pipe into it, off-center, and I want to cut the hole precisely... So, once I extrude the pipe cut out of the drum, how do I print a flat representation of the hole, that, when printed, will look a bit like a teardrop shape?
Can't get the texture to project onto the can. If I hit ALT when using paint bucket, it just turns the flat label image, white when I click on it to sample. If I use the eye dropper icon from the material palette to sample the texture, it only samples the part of the texture i.e. the red or the white.Yes I did explode the texture and check 'Projected' on the face...

Hey Steve, I had the same problem - in my case I work on Mac OS and when I press the cmd-button it works!

Make sure to single click select it. This way only the face will be selected and you'll get that option
