      @@ianjohnson7962 It's not bad but you can get some surging and bucking at really low speeds. I wouldn't even want to know what a stage 4 is like lol. This is also a higher RPM cam. It takes the low end torque and makes it mid-to-high. My car pulls really hard after 3,000 rpms

  • @WalterPidgeonsForge
    @WalterPidgeonsForge 9 місяців тому

    My experience: This cam has a working RPM range between 3500 and 6800 in my 5.3 Sierra.. with a more open/loud exhaust the idle tuning changes the lope/chop a lot since vacuum is low.. more restrictive exhausts or those with catalysts will not be easy to tune because idle has to be overly rich and inefficient.. it is best in a light truck/ car or one with a looser torque converter (stall between 2800-3200 is best for most). A real dyno tuner is important to make it all it can be.

      Tyrell James it’s not a tv on amazon... not like your gunna find a bunch of review. Most cams on a stock head are gunna make somewhat similar power. These are nice cuz of the low lift and no need for expensive valve springs. Ls6 springs and away you go.

      @Long-nd8bq 3 роки тому

      @@lilianagonzalez3527 no. Check the pushrods on the middle cylinders, sometimes they get worn kind of oval shaped, if so replace them with stock ones. These cams are meant for stock length pushrods and rocker arms. Stock lifters works as well just slide a wooden rod in to keep the lifters up when installing the cam so you don't have to pull the heads off to get the lifters set right. All you need to do is the springs either use BTR springs or LS6 springs. They used to sell the cam kit with LS6 springs but I think they have their own springs now. You also get new cam seals for the valve stems so once you get the springs off, change those out and it helps keep the truck from burning oil. Watch Dinoco Blue's video's on how to swap a cam he shows it real easy.

    Unplugging two spark plugs gives the same idle.

    How much hp dose a stage 4 add to a 4.8 Silverado 🤔

    • @nsboost
      @nsboost 5 років тому

      A B you can expect 30-70hp with supporting mods. Gunna take heads to get into the 400s

      nsboost you know whata funny? Some guy tried to tell me a 4.8/5.3 with heads cam intake longtubes and tune wont make 400hp i told him he doesnt know what hes talking about. All those mods should put you around 425hp or more maybe depending on heads and intake

      Tyrell James depends if you’re talking crank hp or wheel hp you can make 450 at the crank but say only 375ish at the wheels (automatic) you loose power through the trans, manuals loose less hp

    I have the BTR Stage 4 Cam and LS6 Springs. I haven't installed yet because of what I hear.
    What if I installed this and didn't have it Tuned? Would it idle ok? Will it be drivable at all?
    What if it was on Stock Converter? No power? To much power? I heard it would try to push me through red lights/stop signs.

    • @kevinborski8998

      mine didnt idle at all without a tune, but it makes good power. and yes it pushes through the brakes at lights with no converter.

      Don't use ls6 springs yellow and specially the blue ones, unless your lift isn't bigger than. 525 from personal experience, they break and don't close the valve fast enough.

      dont use ls6..just get 918s...also they really dont push that hard...just use your brakes

      ShadowOfDeath24 this cam is low lift .550/.550 and according to BTR’s website it’s designed to be used with ls6 springs which are good for .560 iirc. Think that’s cutting it too close?

      If it pushes through the brakes cant you just lower the idle?
