I really like the Norton pea shooter pipe on the retro-modern! Good call on that particular detail and I'm sure it sounds righteous. I've get a '91 K100 RS, fully stock. I put a Wilbers 630 rear shock (Made in Germany) w/ adjustable preload & rebound and I highly recommend Wilbers over stock. It's really made a difference in handling. Keep up the great work Larry.
Hi Larry, Just wanted to say hi, and let you know I really find your work inspirational. Been a long time admirer of BMW bikes, but your special-k creations blow my mind, especially the 87 K75 Special 'BEAUTY'. I just finished work on a little 250cc bike that I bought to learn with, and I now own a 1999 K1100LT ("Das Zeppelin") they are awesome bikes and even though mine is basically stock. I still get heaps of admiring looks & positive comments. "Long live the flying bricks" (LOL) Bye 4 now
I love that creme colored one. I had a K100 (1985). Now I have a R1100RT...I gonna look for a another K100 and make the mods like yours...awesome work you did.
Thanks for all of the great compliments. Special thanks to Shiva for putting this piece together.Stay tuned, I am building a Kaf'e Racer which is being produced for Discovery Channel. Any questions or comments please drop me a line at larry.romestant@gmail.com.
Very nice , really lovely looking bikes, I have one which is standard , and would love to make some changes to it , just to make it more modern, I've owned it for about ten years now and I still love it, they are s brilliant bike, comfortable handle well, and have a great presence on the road, so if I win the lotto I'm going to tart it up, fingers crossed, dream on.
Hello with greets from germany. I´m a biker and an extrem technical freak and a perfectionist and I promise you, that the k75 and k100 are the best technical motorbikes on the world. She runs runs runs runs.......runs
Larry, do you know how too bypass the alarm systems on a k-bike?? I've followed in your footsteps, but have an issue with the keyed alarm box......it's an '88 btw.
Hello Mr. Romestant, Those two bikes on your video are SPECTACULAR! Also, how could I get as proficient in working on K75 - I have an 1986 K75C - like you? I own the Clymer's manual, but it does really do the trick on how explanations are written nor the BLACK/WHITE pictures are in the book. :-/ Anyways, I've been working on my bike little by little, and I'm proud of doing so. Any help will be tremendously appreciated. Do you have any recommended links? Thank you.
8 yrs sgo and no reply. Dang. Lol How did your motorcycle come along? Ive had my 85' k100 bmw for 3 month now. I love it. The ride is something special. The seat is amazing as the handling.
I'm a long time "K" rider myself.l'm coming up 170,000 miles on them! l'd like to turn my 1987 K100RS into a cleaner cafe' style ride.Taking off all the fairing parts and adding a round headlamp anyone know of web sites to get me started? RIDE ON BROTHERS..!
Incredible retro fit. These K Bikes look terrific. Very creative and beautifully done. Great job Larry!

Good job!
Pretty awesome. Great attention to detail. Have you thought about a TV show on Discover channel? I'm tired of American Chopper and the lame arguing.

These bikes deserve a much better video. They're gorgeous. Maybe you could talk Petrolicious into filming them for you?
