I just left Macy's and it appears that all of the fan boys have bought YSL Le Parfum as it was sold out. I smelled a tester and was instantly addicted (I can't lie about that). I ended up just randomly purchasing Versace Eros not even considering anything similar (I enjoyed it more than the other Versace choices that were newer versions I suppose). Long story short, I sprayed Versace Eros on my left hand and the YSL tester was still on my right hand. On the ride home about 20 minutes after the "dry down," I was truly amazed that I could not tell the difference the two. My wife could not either ... I was confused lol I instantly looked on youtube and found your video.... spot on! I have been spraying the YSL tester and then the Versace Eros and just as you have reported, the heart notes are almost completely the same. YSL smells better the first 15 minutes; however, they become identical after that smh! And honestly, I am noticing that the Versace's performance is much better. Thank you brother! You saved me some money!!!! I thought I was going crazy or Macy's testers had wrecked my nose lol. At any rate, I enjoy your assessments and look forward to your vids in the future!
Well to start the Eros has been reformulated and it isn't worth a shit now. The newer batch the EDP is now what the EDT use to be. The YSL has a great opening but the performance and longevity is very short after about 2-3 hours it's a skin scent definitely not worth $150.00 so I can smell a slight resemblance in the two. But wouldn't recommend buying either of them.
Yea I don't like Eros either, but my main goal was to inform people that there is a cheaper option if they like that ysl Le Parfum scent. To each their own, but I'll try my best to keep someone from spending money unnecessarily.
Fair enough, I highly encourage people testing them out for themselves. If they dont smell similar than great, but at least there are some people that think they do and if I can save em a few buck than I'm happy.
i agree. i actually dont like YSL Y EDP at all. the YSL Y Parfum is way smoother, and doesnt give me a headache like the EDP. i really like the parfum and cant stand Y EDP. EROS to me smells way better than YSL Y EDP. But, i think Eros parfum vs ysl y parfum....thats a tough one to decide. both very refined and nice.
Also the only thing different in Eros Flame and Armani Code Colonia is Vanilla… other then that they smell very similar. Colonia is better in the heat but Flame gets me more compliments.
I sprayed Eros perfum on my right and y parfum on my left today and they were nearly identical. This is what led me to this video. The Y has a slightly sharper apple note but that is it. To my noise, the Aros dry down lasted much longer.
I've had eros edt for like a month now, and today i went to a store and sprayed y le parfum on my wrist. At first it was different, but after like half an hour i noticed the similarity. That's what led me to this video😂
Thx, Bro, good honest review. I love YSL edt. I was eyeing the edp and Eros. After your review, I may just get the Eros and a sample of the YSL edp, instead. Quick question you didn't mentioned performance of the edp. Does it have good longevity, say more than four hours after dry down? Thx.
Thanks!! The edp lasts forever on my skin easily 6-7 hours. The Parfum (black bottle) didn't last as long on my skin and is similar to Eros in that regard along with scent profile. If you like the edt, you'll enjoy the edp. The Parfum is not as similar.

Y le parfum smells like Eros with an added ginger and lavender. Overall a bit more complex of a scent. I love both scents though.

I had the same sense, that eros smells like Y, with a little diffence between them! Maybe Y smells more pergamont, and eros more apple!
