    EY3 display has a jumper inside that slots into the same slot the locking device cable goes, no need to have some jumper cables dangling from your scooter.

      @de-bodgery  10 місяців тому

      That's nice to know...I don't think I knew there was a jumper. I guess that wire loop in the JST connector is the jumper you are referring to? I did say to unwrap the coil wire wrap and tuck this inside of that. There would be no dangling anything. While I can make that jumper inside the ey3, many people can not. This was an easy way to solve this issue without taking anything apart.

      This is a valid point. In my video I don't say why you should unplug it first and not doing so would cause some significant arcing and possibly damage to connectors and wiring.

    Hi, I have a scootet arvala and today the NFC reader decided to stop working, it is exactly the same as the reader you show in your video, so it should work that way right?
    Cut the wires and connect red to white

    • @de-bodgery
      @de-bodgery  14 днів тому

      Check battery voltage across all 3 wires. You probably have red, black and white, but your EV isn't a Teverun. If you see battery pack voltage across 2 of them...aka black and red probably...that's your 2 battery wires and they shouldn't be connected together as that's a dead short across your battery pack and is likely to cause other problems... like melted wires. The other wire and the positive wire are what you connect together for this bypass.

      You have some other problem besides a bad NFC reader which you have no bypassed. Do the motors run?

      Thank you so much for answering.
      So the motor now doesn't work wich I have double motor non of them go.
      The thing is it has been for a month to a professional e scooter store they try to fix it and they couldn't and I was able to turn it on in 2 hours just from youer video.
      So I want to make sure that the bypass not the problem and they could cause a new problem. While they tried to fix it.

    Few months ago my Teverun NFC reader also died and I bypassed it by soldering wires together.
    Last week I upgraded the internal vehicle computer unit - IVCU to the latest model - 4.1.0. and suddenly I could not power off the scooter.
    Because with new IVCU you turn ON and OFF the whole scooter only with the NFC reader. The power button now does nothing. It only turns off the display but scooter still can be driven.

The shop I do work for, we get new scooters in and the first thing we do is remove/bypass the NFC readers on them! Just today I was working on a Teverun sold before we knew how BAD those damned unreliable those readers are that had a headlight issue. It was 100% operational other than the headlight. I replaced the bad headlight, went to power up and the scooter wouldn't turn on. Right there in my possession for a totally unrelated issue the NFC reader died! hi great video, I can ask for help, I lost the NFC key of my Nilox M1 scooter I can make a by pass to make it work, if you want I can send you the photo of the NFC Reader card to understand how to make the by pass thanks

    • @de-bodgery
      @de-bodgery  7 місяців тому +1

      I didn't know what an M1 was so I looked it up before responding. Your NFC reader is built into the display, but exactly how integrated that might be is what will define if you could do a bypass like this. It may be that your NFC reader sends a digital enable code to some CPU in your scooter. In the case of the Teverun, all it's doing is applying pack voltage to the enable circuit in the controller. No data is sent at all so this is a very simple bypass. Bafang used to be very simple and easy to bypass their integration since it was using methods like the Teverun. Now days, the display, pack and controller communicate via canbus and you have to send digital signals back and forth to get the system to enable. It can still be circumvented, but it's a lot harder!
      ***
      Have you contacted Nilox? Why not just get a new NFC key? They can't be all that expensive. Most things like this are recorded somewhere so the key combination is known to the manufacturer and then they can duplicate it if needed. It may be that they made like 10 different keys for all of the M1's out there and you just need to get all of the keys until you find the one that works on your scooter. This is a common shortcut! That's what Teverun does...there's only 20 or 25 keys...not sure exactly how many, but it's not a lot.

      @frankinocuda 7 місяців тому

      @@de-bodgery thanks for the reply, I contacted Nilox several times but they told me to send the scooter for assistance and they asked me 100 euros for the key, which is why I was trying to do a bypass, the NFC reader is located near the power button, I'm looking for an alternative in every way, if you have any news remember me thanks

      @@frankinocuda Thats RAPE for a sliver of plastic that costs them almost nothing! Clearly a racket! This is exactly why I despise proprietary solutions! So look me up on facebook...Richard Gumfaw. I'll want you to take apart that dashboard so we can look at the circuit board. I can't promise anything right now, but it may be they did a really simple implementation like the Teverun and it's easy to bypass. All I can offer is to look at what you have and maybe it will be an easy thing to fix.

    When i saw the title i unfortunately expected something like this, just like the standard keyswitch switch type of deals, short a wire and go
    pretty sad in my opinion, they could atleast implement something so the controller itself needs the correct digital signature, but no, ofcourse not
    well honestly for some brand like Minimotors who still use simple squarewave controllers in their top end models i didn't really expect something else, but still sad nevertheless

      @@de-bodgery yeah thats what i done aswell after first test ride on mine LOL, pretty much instantly ordered FSESC75100 Alu PCB's (MKS version didn't exist yet) and never looked back, apart from wanting some more phase amps but i'm probably not gonna put that effort in THIS scooter
      would rather buy another one and put my MKSESC75200's in that one (got the 3.3V opamp mod done, which Jaykup described), so got the controllers and connectors ready
      want a more upgradeable scooter than my Obarter X3, the motor size is good, standard 11 inch (6.5") motors with 145 ish dropout but the shocks are not upgradeable because it doesn't take larger than 100mm, because of the bent down design of the swingarm levers, 125 physically fits but it looks more ridiculous than the unreleased Wolf King GTR in ride height and it's unusable to me lol, also geometry goes to shit in that case
      so yea first i'll probly buy some different Chinese scooter (probly just an Inxing V5, cause it's a known one and alot of rebrands exist of it, and Inxing actually builds the frames) then fit 125mm Exa's and then look how much space i got in there and order cells and build my own pack for it
      i want to build/mod a crazy one for the torque mainly, but still controlled in current control mode unlike 99% of the scooter controllers and to stretch the legs of those 75200's to their max capability, might ride for a while on the stock battery tho
      got the 75100 Alu's because i couldn't get any other ones without getting destroyed by import costs and taxes in my country, the MKSESC 75200 Alu PCB's aswell, since my country has a max import of €150 a piece basically, so if i exceed that it isn't uncommon to pay atleast another €100 on top of the €150
      that is import out of the EU basically, since Brexit i can't get a trampa without getting fucked over either.
      don't even wanna know how much a Trampa would cost me, if it costs €500 price could go up to €800 a piece
      add 2 together and thats'worth more than the scooter itself by quite a margin
