No offense but why would anyone from the US trust some douchebag company located in a non US jurisdiction? They have your pass phrase and they k ow how much you have on your device. That means they can use your pass phrase anytime to steal your crypto. This bogus bs that thenpass phrase is only shown once.... who gives a frack? It comes from their system so they know everything. These things are for dumb people who are gullible. You are basically giving access to Trezor the conpany to your crypto.... Ridiculous! Just wanted to add that you shouldnt trust any of these gizmos regardless of jurisdiction anyway but you may have more recourse in your own country than against a co pany in Belgium or wherever this junk is made.
The trezor device itself is what displays the key phrase, no one sees it but the one setting it up and only just the one time. But I do see your point in not trusting Belgium... what are they doing to those waffles to make them so tasty? Trezor was the first crypto hardware wallet company started back in 2014 and have a very good track record.
This video was informative, helpful and easy enough for a novice like me to follow. By the time I was set up, I felt like I knew more about the hardware wallet issues overall. Subscribed!
So glad to hear it helped! We recently published an updated video as well including the Trezor Suite. You may find it useful: ua-cam.com/video/PpUgqgAjjWo/v-deo.html
Great question. It looks like this is a common confusion. Here's a reddit article with some good information from people in your same situation: www.reddit.com/r/TREZOR/comments/jkvtqa/adding_minor_altcoins/ but the main takeaways seem to be. First check to see what Wallet UI Trezor says is needed to manage the coins. Keep in mind the difference between the firmware of Trezor creating keys for you, and the UI of the actual "type and click" to manage those keys and coins. See our recent video on the differences between wallet UIs and public/private key generation for more info: ua-cam.com/video/B0so9yDRP5g/v-deo.html Check this list for your coins and see if it lists a 3rd party wallet UI. If so, you'll need to download that UI, and while your Trezor will still be doing all of the security and private key work, the 3rd party UI will be your interface: trezor.io/coins/ and for coins listed above that are ERC20 coins, according to that reddit article, it looks like you use the same ETH address, and the coins will populate separately after they go through. But as always, do a test transaction first!
@@bradebronson8835 Happy to help! For further reference, here's the answer in that same discussion thread from Satoshi Labs support themselves "Hi, most of the coins are ERC20 tokens indeed, these are built on the ETH blockchain and are using the same addresses as ETH so you can send the ERC20 token to your Trezor generated ETH address. In Trezor Suite, once there is some balance on the address, it should display the token balance automatically. With our previous app (that is still running) - beta-wallet.trezor.io/next - you need to add the token manually in your ETH account by typing token'đ name or contact address to the token field. We are now working on improving this UI as it's not clear to some users, sorry for the hassle." Please let us know once you've tried and how your experience goes.
My best friend is an IT TECH. and he couldn't figure out how to add ADA either. And in the video you skipped over how you got ADA . Clearly an important detail. And that Reddit ad that you posted doesn't say spit about this point either. I'm sure that I will have this figured out in a day or 2... BUT. I imagine there will continue to be very disappointed people until you address this in your video Or ad a comment or something. .thanks.
You said any of the three Adalite, Dataless, or Yoroi. But do you have to already have an account on these? I only have an account on coinbase, so would that work or no? Please help!
Three questions please: 1. Was it a 4-digit pin or larger? You never stated the minimum pin-size the Tresor Model-T device required. 2. Just like a hard drive, do you recommend two (2) Tresor devices (I.e. one as backup)? Or are they distinctly different and you can’t do this? I’m worried one device might confuse or corrupt another. Please advise? 3. Do you know anything about DOGE-USA? I noticed you used the Cardano wallet for your virtual currency of choice, but what would you use for DOGE? Or would it be the same? When you displayed the drop down menu of available choices, I saw DOGE was directly listed. So if all I wanted was DOGE, wouldn’t I want to select this directly? Thank you.
good questions! 1. The PIN can be from 4-9 digits long, according to their website wiki.trezor.io/PIN 2. Yes, you can definitely have one as a backup, that's a common practice. But keep in mind that your crypto doesn't "live" in your hardware wallet. The Trezor just manages the keys to sign transactions, and the funds are all tracked on the blockchain. The benefit of having a backup is simply that if your primary one is lost or stolen, you can take action immediately with your backup to send the funds to some other safe addresses (like temporarily to an exchange or something). This video on keys, wallets, and addresses should help clarify what's handling what and where the crypto "lives" ua-cam.com/video/B0so9yDRP5g/v-deo.html 3. Cardano is a special case, since the wallets need to handle delegating, voting and other things. For other currencies like BTC or DOGE that don't have these additional functionalities and only need to track their value balances, you can manage them directly on the Trezor itself. This, btw, is another good example where the keys/wallets/addresses video should help clarify keep the good questions coming!
@@WoodlandPools you do an excellent job explaining/tutorials. Very clear and concise. I can’t help but think will become very successful in doing cryp-vid tutorials. Thanks 🙏
Great video. Do you know if the Eternl wallet supports hidden wallets? I have one on my Trezor and sent funds to it but now I cannot sign transactions going out.
Thank you! That's a great question. I'm not actually sure. You can ask the developers directly in their telegram: t.me/eternlio Let me know what you hear!
Thank you for doing this video and walking through it very slowly and precisely. I bought my Trezor Model T about 6 months ago, but haven’t even taken it out of the package yet, as I’m so afraid that I will mess something up (especially during the transfer of funds) and lose my Bitcoin. I’ll watch your video on how to do that as well….
This video is 10 month old,i jist got my trezor now, no seal on the actual device, but only on the bkx ,which was looking ,clean and unopen....do yiu know if it ia nirnal with new oackaging to not have the seal on the device itself? It also doesn t come in the box black liflet style black box, now the instructions are written in a little getting started mini liflet...so i can see they changed the packaging...but no seal on rhe device itself, only on the main box, on both sides....
sorry, honestly not sure. Is it the same tamper-proof type sticker that was previously on the device (in the video)? If so, it may just be that they changed it for the reason I complained about in the video; that people didn't want the residue left on their Trezor. Also, did you order straight from the manufacturer? If so, I'd also be much less concerned.
Great video, thank you. I felt so much safer setting up my own device not being alone. I want a back up device to my Trezor T in case it gets lost or broken. Can I use a Trezor One as back up to recover the wallet by using seeds? Or do the 2 devices have to be identical? Thank you.
So glad to hear it helped! It can definitely be intimidating the first time. It looks like while it's possible, it may require some extra steps: wiki.trezor.io/Recovery_seed If you don't already have the backup device, it might be easiest to just get another Trezor T
@@WoodlandPools Definitely. I would be lost without you guys helping us newcomers. It is also really assuring, going through the whole process - from unboxing to transferring - and not only a few steps. I have looked into it, but can't really figure out, what "extra steps" would be required. Please clarify.
@@camille-i2o happy to help :) Yea so looking at that link (wiki.trezor.io/Recovery_seed) I was referring to this section: "By default, while using Trezor Suite, Trezor Model T creates a wallet with 12 seed words and Trezor One generates a 24-word seed. Both models are compatible with public standards and it is possible to create a recovery seed for your wallet using 12, 18 or 24-word seed on both devices. In terms of security 12-word recovery seed is safe enough For advanced users: It is possible to generate 12, 18 or 24-word seeds on both Trezor devices. If you want to generate recovery seed with different length than default (e.g., 24 words on Trezor Model T), please see initialize device with trezorctl command." so you might want to just get another T, or if not, it'll be some more digging into the links provided in that article.
Good question! Sharmir is Trezor's new backup system that lets you spread your backup across multiple sheets. Some more info here: trezor.io/shamir/ we went with the single backup for ours, but it's up to your personal preference
Great question! Your funds are safe, remember they live on the distributed blockchain, not on your Trezor. This video should help clarify: ua-cam.com/video/B0so9yDRP5g/v-deo.html
I got a liitle confused at 11:19 where you mention about buying via card or receiving from an exchange. I have no idea what "buying via card" means. I need to transfer "coins" from exchange to Trezor. I see at the top it says "receive" and you didn't click on word "receive" but buy via card. I don't suppose you have a video of receiving coins from exchange to Trezor. It looks like there isn't any mention of coinbase or etoro to receive "coins" from to put on the Trezor. Basically I don't follow where the transfer is in this video from exchange to Trezor. I hope this isn't hard to understand. It seems daunting to do this right. Quite scared really to do this and mess up everything. Thank you for any help you can give me.
Hey I'm stuck between the wallet set-up. My trezor is connected and device manager recognizes it but it still says "connect your trezor to continue" lit up. I can't proceed with installing the firmware and I changed my usb driver in hopes it resets and identifies it. Any thoughts or suggestions?
hm, not sure. Double check and make sure that there are no other browser windows that have popped up under the one you're viewing. Sometimes the connection screen hides by accident
I have 2 questions . The first one is does the trezor hard wallet give you the recovery seed when setting it up?? I looked it up but couldn’t get a clear answer. And the second is i have Coinbase is it easy to transfer over my crypto cuz when I seen your video it looked complicated thanks again
@@Laver-galarga 1. yes, the words shown to you on setup is the recovery/seed phrase itself. You can see it more clearly in our updated video ua-cam.com/video/PpUgqgAjjWo/v-deo.html 2. yep! thank you! Anything you saw on the screen was typed with the normal keyboard. The device's screen is only used in the steps I mention in the video to do things like "confirm" or "enter PIN"
Great tutorial, hate how you have to bugger around with external software/sites just to manage your coins, do they not have their own software to manage that stuff? ELLIPAL for example have their own Android/ios app that you manage everything from, including storing, staking and trading.
thanks! It depends on the crypto platform. Ones (like BTC and ETH) that all you can do is send value back and forth, it's easy for HW wallet manufacturers to make compatible UIs. For more complex blockchains like Cardano that supports staking and voting, they've held off till now. Cardano is coming to Ledger Live this year, but every coin has its own roadmap with the HW manufacturers
how do you set up XLM in the Trezor Suite desktop? You can add XLM in the hardware wallet, but not via Trezor Suite. Am I missing something or are you not able to do this?
it looks like you need to use a 3rd party wallet for the UI like Account Viewer or Exodus: trezor.io/coins/ to clarify the difference between the wallet UI and the keys themselves, this video may help: ua-cam.com/video/B0so9yDRP5g/v-deo.html
Hello, great video, but i'm having a problem. Trying to setup a 2nd trezor T on the same PC, and right away it picks up my first trezor. Would you know how to bypass this problem? thank you!
yea, this is a convenience they do for you so that you don't have to re-pair each time. If you are using a second Trezor, you can have the UI app forget the initial Trezor by going to Settings, and at the bottom of the App section click "reset". This will make the UI forget your first Trezor, and prompt you to re-pair and start over.
Great help, thanks. The only part I am struggling with is that I am trying to add Cardano but it does not show as yours does at 11:00 Any ideas, please? EDIT: I see somebody else had the same problem. I will try and do it through Yoroi. Tahnks.
yea, I just opened up Trezor suite yesterday and noticed the same thing. It's possible that the Cardano interface may already be set up from the start, or potentially when you go to a wallet and try and pair, that might be what kicks it off. Try Yoroi, as you said, and please let us know how it goes! Very curious to know, so we can help others as well ua-cam.com/video/Q1ZJS7KvwGc/v-deo.html
Is it better to set up a Trezor T in the Trezor Suite or on the Trezor website? I think my comment got deleted by YT because I but the actual website link in my first post
I bought a Trezor Model T thinking it had support for lots of coins. After I got it, I found that it only supported very few coins. I keep hearing from people saying you can store other coins on Trezor but when I try it doesn't work as the coin is not in the list. Help?
good question. You need to pair Daedalus/Yoroi/Adalite with your Trezor so you can see what your addresses are that you can send funds to. Then, whenever you want to add funds you can just send to those addresses, and you don't necessarily have to have the wallet(s) open for it to go through. This video may help clarify: ua-cam.com/video/B0so9yDRP5g/v-deo.html and once you've finished that one, this video will show you how to set up your Trezor with Yoroi: ua-cam.com/video/Q1ZJS7KvwGc/v-deo.html

Pleaseeeee answer this because this is vital to wether I want to purchase it. Does adalite (as well as the other “external wallets”) require a sign up before sending from an exchange to the wallet via address? Any help would be much appreciated.
No problem! They don’t require any kind of signup, but you do need to install Daedalus or Yoroi, and for all 3 you need to pair them. Here’s how you’d pair with Daedalus: ua-cam.com/video/nbYvXnfPiSM/v-deo.html With Yoroi: ua-cam.com/video/Q1ZJS7KvwGc/v-deo.html And with Adalite: ua-cam.com/video/8u7ba3FIwi0/v-deo.html
Basically. I don’t want to have to have 5+ external wallets for each coin wether “alt” or a coin like btc. Just want to see if this is just for ada, and if it’s not just for ada which coins would also need an external wallet.
Happy to help! Good questions. You can tell by looking at each coin’s specific entry for a given wallet. trezor.io/coins/ www.ledger.com/supported-crypto-assets if you see it’s supported natively (Ledger Live or Trezor Suite) or if it needs an external UI to manage it, it’ll say so on each row’s entry for each coin. This video on keys, wallets, and addresses might also help provide some context: ua-cam.com/video/B0so9yDRP5g/v-deo.html
You said any of the three Adalite, Dataless, or Yoroi. But do you have to already have an account on these? I only have an account on coinbase, so would that work or no? Please help!
I think there's some confusion here. You don't need an account with those wallets, you'd just pair your Trezor with it. So there’s something I still don’t understand. Do I have to transfer my coins from coinbase to Daedalus before I can store them on the Trezor? I know the coins are not literally on the Trezor but you know what I mean, is it a two step transfer?
@@ceciltucker7291 great questions. VPN vs no VPN is a much larger question about tracking (I personally recommend one, but as a general practice, not just for crypto), but it's not strictly necessary for firmware updates and the like
Thanks! I bought a couple Ledger nano x, but the recovery phrase doesn't work. Before transferring a lot of coins, I tried to recover my wallet. I went through the entire process 2 times resetting my Ledger nano x....and the same thing happened. I am done with Ledger!
so sorry to hear this! That's really strange, though. We've never heard of anyone not being able to restore using the recovery phrase. Any time we've heard about it, it's always ended up being a typo. Maybe double check if any of the words could potentially be a misspelled version of something else?
WP what if you know your seed on trezor t but say in future the firmware update fails and what if the seed recovery doesn’t work what if? Wouldn’t coinbase vault always be guaranteed to store 100% without panicking over a usb device?
Your recovery phrase (seed) is how the private keys are generated. If the Trezor were to fail, you can always restore a new Trezor using the same recovery phrase and have your identical keys, addresses, and corresponding funds regenerated. Check out our video on keys, wallets, and addresses for more info: ua-cam.com/video/B0so9yDRP5g/v-deo.html
I am just starting out with mining my 1070 and want to know should i get a cold wallet for my coins? The model t is a bit pricey for me atm. Is the cheaper model good too especially for beginners or should i save up for the T?
keep in mind that if your funds are on the exchange, you can't manage them in the same way as if they were on a hardware wallet. This video should help clarify what's responsible for what in each scenario: ua-cam.com/video/B0so9yDRP5g/v-deo.html
Yep! As long as the protocol supports staking from a HW wallet, you should be able to stake from Ledger or Trezor (I know Cardano supports both) but definitely double check for the specific protocol
Hi ive just got one of these and had a real issue with the touch screen where when you pressed on a number to set the pin it would often select a number to the side of the one you selected and it would also become super sensitive so it would select a number a multiple of times with just a light touch to the screen. Got there eventually but it almost drove me nuts trying it. Also using a stylus didnt work unless it had a rubber end to it and even that was a bit sketchy.......did you experience the same issues or do i have a dodgy device?
Question when you transfer your crypto to your Trezor are you losing the positions you hold in that crypto or it’s just a transfer and you still have the same amount of shares?
think of it as transferring money from one bank account to another, but in this instance you are your own bank and you have full custody and control of you own funds :) This video may help clarify further: ua-cam.com/video/B0so9yDRP5g/v-deo.html
I looked for your follow up video on the "recover wallet" option, couldn't find it. I'd like to know whether you could recover your "lost" trezor device ( ie. you find it afterwards ) after you activated another trezor with the "recover wallet" option because you thought it'd been lost or stolen.
good call, we should make a recovery video for Trezor. In the meantime, this video on keys, wallets, and addresses should help clarify how the private keys are generated and how it all works together: ua-cam.com/video/B0so9yDRP5g/v-deo.html In the case you're describing, if you thought you'd lost your Trezor, and you get another one and restore it as a backup, you'd then have two identical Trezor devices. If you later find the original one, you can use it as if nothing happened, since they are identical in every way from the network's perspective. That video above should help clarify.
good questions! The primary purpose of the hardware wallets (Trezor and Ledger) is to securely store your crypto. But both have partnership integrations in their wallet UI's where you can buy and sell certain coins through partner portals.
🤔 hmm not sure. Only heard of Ledger and Trezor for ADA (in terms of which are supported with Daedalus, Yoroi, and Adalite). If you find some good resources saying otherwise, please share!
They also now have a desktop app you can download. They use a common keygen algorithm to generate the keys from the recovery phrase, so if they go out of business, I’m certain competitors will quickly come out with ways to port your keys over using the Trezor recovery phrase. No worries there
If you're only using Bitcoin, you should be good to go. Especially now that they released the Trezor Suite app, it's quite easy to manage your funds all from there. This updated video shows how: ua-cam.com/video/PpUgqgAjjWo/v-deo.html
In terms of safety, both browsers are safe. We personally use Brave since it doesn't do any background tracking, but that's unrelated from the wallet's performance. Up to you!
ah gotcha. If you’re using their 3rd party partner to buy coins I think they’ll probably require some kind of KYC, yes. If not you can try to find a non-KYC exchange, buy there, and send to your Trezor address
WP I heard today Apple had a bug hack browser and you need to do update this was in English paper. May I ask you, can you setup your Trezor T on your Mac and windows pc? As you already setup firmware when initial setup Trezor - Do you just go to Trezor website and link it to the suite on windows pc and see identical on Trezor suite or cannot be done? I ask because worry about this mac browser hack.... I heard about.. regards Jason
That definitely sounds concerning, but I wouldn't worry too much. The private keys for hardware wallets never leave the device and are never exposed to the internet. Browser hacks shouldn't affect your wallet's security... but you've got the right mindset to always be cautious!
@@jasonjamin1716 keep in mind that since you're using the hardware wallet, the keys live on there and you can interact with it using Adalite/Yoroi/Daedalus at any time, and the keys and addresses are still the ones that correspond to your Trezor. This also means you can use Yoroi on multiple computers sync'd to your Trezor with no problem. Hi 😃 Good question. That's a question that varies for each person. Have you seen our video on Making a Plan? It can help you think through different variables to consider for your own plan for both short and long term considerations: ua-cam.com/video/28W6TG73RQ0/v-deo.html
it should, and if for any reason there was a problem, I'm certain that in 20 years whatever competitors were out there would have a way for you to migrate your keys (and funds) to their hardware wallet platform
I followed you up to the point where you started adding things after you said Bitcoin is already on the Trezor. Why do I need another wallet added to my Trezor? I thought Trezor was the wallet for Bitcoin? Question #2: You are talking about moving money from the "exchange" to the Trezor. I thought I would be moving money from my bank account to my Trezor. Please explain. Thank you.
good questions! For the first question, keep in mind that hardware wallets like Trezor and Ledger are wallets for multiple cryptocurrencies, of which Bitcoin is just one option. Each new currency added gets its own set of public and private keys, and its own set of associated addresses. To help clarify, check out our video on keys, wallets and addresses, where we explain this further: ua-cam.com/video/B0so9yDRP5g/v-deo.html For the second question, you can't move money (fiat) directly from your bank to your Trezor. You need to move it to a cryptocurrency exchange first so you can buy your crypto of choice, and then when you've purchased it, you can send the crypto to your wallet. Check out our playlist on exchanges for some more info on how to do some of the most common things on exchanges: ua-cam.com/play/PL3DtqUjro7uG7O8Oy_dnBrg73Sy8AGd6n.html
Totally understand. What currency were you transferring? ETH fees have been really high lately. I suspect the reason that it was ~20% was because of the relative size of the transaction to the size of the transfer fees. But I do not think that the fees would increase with a larger transaction. The same way that a $1 fee for a $2 transaction is 50%, but the same $1 fee for $100 transaction is 1%, I think you should be ok when you send the balance. But when you prepare the transfer for your balance, double check - you should be able to see the expected fees, and I'd suspect that it will be a much lower total percent. Keep us posted.
Stupid question: if I transfer my coins from the exchange app in my phone to my cold wallet, does that mean that the coins will no longer be available in my online app and can only be traded through the Trezor website?
no stupid questions :) we were all confused and a bit intimidated when we first started as well. Correct, since you're sending them from your exchange to your wallet, the funds are moving addresses to the addresses controlled by your wallet. For some further clarity, you might want to check out our video on addresses, keys, and wallets, and how they all work together. We go into this exact topic in detail: ua-cam.com/video/B0so9yDRP5g/v-deo.html
the Trezor itself should not necessarily be connecting to the internet. The Trezor suite or wallet is connected, but the phrase generation happens offline on the device itself
@@WoodlandPools oh really? I dint know that… then can it be dangerous to be conneced to the internet while generating seeds? It seems like a stupid question but i am not good at a computer sorry…
@@donghyunglee7708 no you should be good to go. Using a Trezor or Ledger, the keys and generation are done on the device, not on the computer, so you should be safe as long as no one physically has your device in hand :)

it is critical that you keep your recovery seed somewhere safe, and that you make multiple copies in case something happens to one of them. Your recovery seed is only presented once, when the keys are being created, and can never be retrieved again. The security benefit of this is that no one else has access to your seed, so you can be sure that as long as no one has seen yours, you are the only one that knows it. The downside, however, is that if you lose it, no one can help you restore it. This video may help provide some further context: ua-cam.com/video/B0so9yDRP5g/v-deo.html
newbie question - how do we know that some employee at Trezor has not scanned the new devices going out and some time in the future, they rob everyone who owns a Trezor?
good question! Keep in mind that the Trezor device itself is what presents you with your recovery phrase, and no one (including future you) can ever see the phrase presented again. It's presented one time, only when the device is set up, and never again. This video might also help clarify what's going on: ua-cam.com/video/B0so9yDRP5g/v-deo.html
I found the screen very small with using your fingers to touch the numbers, don't no way they don't make a larger screen size. I tried using a pencil as a stylist but it didn't work.
Hi, great video, I ordered a Trezor through your link :). One question though (anyone feel free to answer): Once you've connected your trezor and secured your wallet/account with it. Is it impossible for a bad actor to steal your coins even if they have your seed phrase?
thank you, glad to hear it helped! No, if someone gets access to your seed phrase, you need to think of it as them having direct access to your funds. Since your keys are generated directly from the seed phrase, it is by far the most important thing to keep secured. This video might help clarify further: ua-cam.com/video/B0so9yDRP5g/v-deo.html

Hey man
Great video.
Thank you!
How do you add more alt coins on your Trezor Suite? It only has 13 but on their site it says it supports like 1000 coins.
Great question. It looks like this is a common confusion. Here's a reddit article with some good information from people in your same situation:
www.reddit.com/r/TREZOR/comments/jkvtqa/adding_minor_altcoins/
but the main takeaways seem to be. First check to see what Wallet UI Trezor says is needed to manage the coins. Keep in mind the difference between the firmware of Trezor creating keys for you, and the UI of the actual "type and click" to manage those keys and coins. See our recent video on the differences between wallet UIs and public/private key generation for more info:
ua-cam.com/video/B0so9yDRP5g/v-deo.html
Check this list for your coins and see if it lists a 3rd party wallet UI. If so, you'll need to download that UI, and while your Trezor will still be doing all of the security and private key work, the 3rd party UI will be your interface:
trezor.io/coins/
and for coins listed above that are ERC20 coins, according to that reddit article, it looks like you use the same ETH address, and the coins will populate separately after they go through. But as always, do a test transaction first!
@@WoodlandPools Thanks for all the help.. I'll try this out. Hope it works.
@@bradebronson8835 Happy to help! For further reference, here's the answer in that same discussion thread from Satoshi Labs support themselves
"Hi, most of the coins are ERC20 tokens indeed, these are built on the ETH blockchain and are using the same addresses as ETH so you can send the ERC20 token to your Trezor generated ETH address. In Trezor Suite, once there is some balance on the address, it should display the token balance automatically. With our previous app (that is still running) - beta-wallet.trezor.io/next - you need to add the token manually in your ETH account by typing token'đ name or contact address to the token field.
We are now working on improving this UI as it's not clear to some users, sorry for the hassle."
Please let us know once you've tried and how your experience goes.

Three questions please:
1. The PIN can be from 4-9 digits long, according to their website
wiki.trezor.io/PIN
2. This video on keys, wallets, and addresses should help clarify what's handling what and where the crypto "lives"
ua-cam.com/video/B0so9yDRP5g/v-deo.html
3. Cardano is a special case, since the wallets need to handle delegating, voting and other things. For other currencies like BTC or DOGE that don't have these additional functionalities and only need to track their value balances, you can manage them directly on the Trezor itself. This, btw, is another good example where the keys/wallets/addresses video should help clarify
keep the good questions coming!

It looks like while it's possible, it may require some extra steps:
wiki.trezor.io/Recovery_seed
If you don't already have the backup device, it might be easiest to just get another Trezor T
@@WoodlandPools Definitely. I would be lost without you guys helping us newcomers. It is also really assuring, going through the whole process - from unboxing to transferring - and not only a few steps.
I have looked into it, but can't really figure out, what "extra steps" would be required. Please clarify.
@@camille-i2o happy to help :)
Yea so looking at that link (wiki.trezor.io/Recovery_seed)
I was referring to this section:
"By default, while using Trezor Suite, Trezor Model T creates a wallet with 12 seed words and Trezor One generates a 24-word seed. Both models are compatible with public standards and it is possible to create a recovery seed for your wallet using 12, 18 or 24-word seed on both devices. In terms of security 12-word recovery seed is safe enough
For advanced users: It is possible to generate 12, 18 or 24-word seeds on both Trezor devices. If you want to generate recovery seed with different length than default (e.g., 24 words on Trezor Model T), please see initialize device with trezorctl command."
so you might want to just get another T, or if not, it'll be some more digging into the links provided in that article.

I got a liitle confused at 11:19 where you mention about buying via card or receiving from an exchange. I have no idea what "buying via card" means. I need to transfer "coins" from exchange to Trezor. I see at the top it says "receive" and you didn't click on word "receive" but buy via card.
I looked for your follow up video on the "recover wallet" option, couldn't find it. I'd like to know whether you could recover your "lost" trezor device ( ie. you find it afterwards ) after you activated another trezor with the "recover wallet" option because you thought it'd been lost or stolen.

In the case you're describing, if you thought you'd lost your Trezor, and you get another one and restore it as a backup, you'd then have two identical Trezor devices. If you later find the original one, you can use it as if nothing happened, since they are identical in every way from the network's perspective. That video above should help clarify.

yes it is. You can check for all supported coins here: trezor.io/coins/
Are these items? made just for storing your cryto currency?Or can you buy/sell on them?
good questions! The primary purpose of the hardware wallets (Trezor and Ledger) is to securely store your crypto. But both have partnership integrations in their wallet UI's where you can buy and sell certain coins through partner portals.
Wasnt Exodus also added as a Trezor T linked wallet with ADA present?
🤔 hmm not sure. Only heard of Ledger and Trezor for ADA (in terms of which are supported with Daedalus, Yoroi, and Adalite). If you find some good resources saying otherwise, please share!
It looks like this thing relies on the trezor web service. What happens if trezor goes out of business or has outages?
They also now have a desktop app you can download. They use a common keygen algorithm to generate the keys from the recovery phrase, so if they go out of business, I’m certain competitors will quickly come out with ways to port your keys over using the Trezor recovery phrase. No worries there
Hey, I bought it and it won't pair with my exodus unfortunately, I was wondering if this is a big deal, I only use bitcoin btw, thanks.
If you're only using Bitcoin, you should be good to go. Especially now that they released the Trezor Suite app, it's quite easy to manage your funds all from there. This updated video shows how:

How do l connect the USB to the phone
I don't think Trezor has a mobile app yet. You have to manage your coins via the Trezor Suite on your computer
WP final question - is it wise to use brave with wallet or is using safari still as safe or safer
In terms of safety, both browsers are safe. We personally use Brave since it doesn't do any background tracking, but that's unrelated from the wallet's performance. Up to you!
which is better ledger nano x or trezor model t. my criteria is safety and variety of coins
good question! Here's a video where we compare them side by side:

@@WoodlandPools WP still should I do Yoroi on windows pc as well or is this not allowed 2 setups for Ada web link
Check out our video on "where do your keys live?" that helps clarify this common confusion of addresses/keys/wallets and how they work together in different scenarios:

would this still work in say 20 years time if your a long term hodler
it should, and if for any reason there was a problem, I'm certain that in 20 years whatever competitors were out there would have a way for you to migrate your keys (and funds) to their hardware wallet platform
@@WoodlandPools makes sense cheers
To help clarify, check out our video on keys, wallets and addresses, where we explain this further:
ua-cam.com/video/B0so9yDRP5g/v-deo.html
For the second question, you can't move money (fiat) directly from your bank to your Trezor. You need to move it to a cryptocurrency exchange first so you can buy your crypto of choice, and then when you've purchased it, you can send the crypto to your wallet. Check out our playlist on exchanges for some more info on how to do some of the most common things on exchanges:

When I tried to transfer a small amount to trezor I got charged about 20% is this right if I did a large amount this would be crazy

I am so confused. If I need set up through Yoroi wallet, how do I do?
once you've set up your Trezor, you just pair with Yoroi like shown in this video, and you're good to go! ua-cam.com/video/Q1ZJS7KvwGc/v-deo.html
We go into this exact topic in detail:

is it natural to connect to the internet while generating recovery seed?
the Trezor itself should not necessarily be connecting to the internet.
Using a Trezor or Ledger, the keys and generation are done on the device, not on the computer, so you should be safe as long as no one physically has your device in hand :)

can we add USD to the trezor wallet ?
no it can only hold cryptocurrencies, but you can send USDT or other stablecoins. Here is the list of all supported coins: trezor.io/coins
is ADA actually on the Trezor T? i plug mine in and dont see it in the wallet. But if i got to adalite i see it. its perfectly safe this way?
Yep! With your Trezor you can actually use Daedalus, Yoroi, or Adalite interchangeably. Here's a comparison of all 3:

What happens if we forget or lose our recovery seed?
it is critical that you keep your recovery seed somewhere safe, and that you make multiple copies in case something happens to one of them.

@@WoodlandPools Thank you for your help. Detailed explanation. Appreciated.
newbie question - how do we know that some employee at Trezor has not scanned the new devices going out and some time in the future, they rob everyone who owns a Trezor?
good question! Keep in mind that the Trezor device itself is what presents you with your recovery phrase, and no one (including future you) can ever see the phrase presented again. It's presented one time, only when the device is set up, and never again. This video might also help clarify what's going on:
ua-cam.com/video/B0so9yDRP5g/v-deo.html

This video might help clarify further:
ua-cam.com/video/B0so9yDRP5g/v-deo.html
Can i do all this on my mobile?

yea, for us it only asked for 3 or 4 words in a random sampling. Ledger asks for them all, Trezor looks like it does it differently
