@@crx4xharder lol b20 dont launch at 2.500 rpm.. He just start at that rpm because he spin at 7k too.. All honda vtec got launch above vtec or when it kick in
@@crx4xharder he launch at 6.5 because anything below that and he will bog. Since the b16b is torque less . B20v has plenty of Tq down low so launching at 2.5 I the torque it has will help it get through the rpm
B20 are torqy motor since they only came in First Gen CRVs, and with longuer gears and VTEC heads the torque can handle everything. While a Type-R is more top end motor and circuit engine type. They were never meant to be fast in the straight line. (also from both might differ with suspension, what aero mod each car have, wind direction, altitude, hill/downhill.)
JobeMinacum it actually does technically. It's the same cast as a b16 head instead of it's own cast. It's a reworked pr3 head. The k20a has an entirely different casting head from the k20z or k20a2
vtecnegro85 Please explain how a production engine is modified. It's a B18C5 no matter what as long as it came from Honda that way. A B20 needs a VTEC head swapped on it to come close to the same power levels.
JobeMinacum do you not know the difference between a regular b16 head and an Itr head? It's from Honda but it's modified. A b18c needs cams to reach 200 whp. B20 vtec does that with stock cams. The swap argument is invalid as both are production engines that happen to be interchangeable. They are still Honda parts.
it's a fast b20 but there is no way the b20 has stock bottom...if you rev b20 ls vtec head with stock sleeves more than 8200rpm propably the sleeves gonna goodbye to you....
Ya lol ive heard about the sleeves being not the best under high rpms i plan on building a b20b with a gsr head maybe gsr trans as well if i can find one...but im definitely gunna put arp rod bolts, the vtec water pump and such in when i already have the head off so that will make it a little more reliable stock especially since it will be my first time doing this build so i wanna make sure i do it right, id keep it max 8000rpms at first when its stock cuz i wouldn't wanna mess up the engine before i build it at least not until the bottom end is a little more built like i might sleeve the block at a machine shop when i can make it a beast even tho its decent stock with the torque from the b20
Nick Leach Sleeving is costly, you might as well sleeve it while its out or don't really bother. when you're in the market for a GSR head and or pistons hmu!
True haha the more i thought about it after making the comment the more i realized that i might as well do everything while i have it taken apart, but well do its sometimes hard to track down specific parts and good parts in general so thanks man haha
Yeah the rule of thumb when building a honda is do it right the first time. I got lots of good spare parts from other builds. Like a GSR head,13:1 B20vtec nippon pistons etc etc
Why b20 bottom end over b18b? I'll be going the b18b vtec or GSR route. Not sure, but definetly not b20 due to having a turbo kit here But is there a specific reason why you choose that one over the other? In my eyes they're pretty much similar engines powerband wise etc
maybe but if you watch the tachometer you see that the b18c needs more rpm to do the same job as the b20 vtec yes the civic is lighter but the engine specs change everything
hugonubario of course it need more rpms that's where it makes the most power. Both of them having the same weight it would be pretty much a drivers race.
+f2b.....f20bEG I guess you're right I wonder if the transmission is the same with the same final gear since the bottom end aren't the same I know that a longer stroke doesn't need that much rpm to do the same
Holy fuck. Redlining in 5th gear. Scary shit lol
Right!!! Lol
That's how I blew my b20b 😭
I enjoy redlining my fifth gear. Is exhilarating.
have a stock b20vtec stock bolts stock everything. reving it to 8500. going strong 3 years plus
I'm conflicted about going B20 or B18c for JDM points, i just want it to look period correct, and B20v is more torque
Whut fr? No rod bolts or oil pump? Maybe arp?
How's it hold up still looking at a civic that has a b20v and guy says it has dual type r springs n other stuff
Honda knew the secrets of the b20vtec
well if the type r didnt spin for 5 seconds in 1st itd be very close
sctflasher379 I know right! b20 launched at 2500 vs. 7k in the R. this is purely driver error
@@crx4xharder lol b20 dont launch at 2.500 rpm.. He just start at that rpm because he spin at 7k too.. All honda vtec got launch above vtec or when it kick in

The type r was clearly revving slower
100-200 kph full grip accelerate
is 3 second difference

B20v will always be surperior in terms of power. Just more torque that's why.

Yeah but the b20 is far weaker so it’s block is limited to much lower power in the end. I don’t understand why people build b20 bottom ends anymore.
Who is the winner tuned type ‐ r vs b20 vtec
V-TEC Kicked in yoo
Type r- 9500-250km b20-8800-250km
if they started at the same rpm i think the integra would have won
Ur right
Waaaay too much wheel spin.Just a chirp off the line please next video :) do it! $$$
оба хороши! не будь передгепривдные взял бы себе! а так Altezza нравится.
B20 POWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEER
if i'm not wrong...the b20 vtec was on toyo r888 semi slicks...while the b18cr was on street radials
wouldn't matter. b20 still should win mod for mod.
+vtecnegro85 The Type R doesn't have a swapped head "Mod for mod".

Japanese art, that is why everything I own is made in japan
b20v pulls really good.
Also if he (the type R)didn’t start off at such a high rpm maybe it would’ve been closer
B20 vtec will always be quicker thanks to that extra torque. Downside they're not as reliable out of the box
B20 vtec 0-100 in just 3.84scs Wthck
nah 4sec maybe
We already knew b20vtec is the b series to have just proven
if you live in Malaysia you can see people put turbo on their Integra
what model does the B20 come in and what kind of power as standard?
ua-cam.com/video/3tBhsxr1ayo/v-deo.htmlsi=7xxb_v_I0xLdeiQO
B20 Vtec heavyly tuned because it's 0-100 3.X seconds.
The Integra lauched with 3500rpm more then the civic... thats not good for an fwd car and costs tons of time.
Car on the right is from "super supra 87"
DOS BTEK
And all frankenstein
Bulshit integra holds redzone for 3 more sec for no reason.
B20 :o
B20vtec

And b20/18 nothing near stock

The itr forget to change the first Gear have it about 4 seconds It's not faster the b20 the b18 don't know how to drive
Both not reached 250km/h
2.0 had to be built.
no just lighter car... dc2 had the b18c and eg had the b20
