    This is pretty accurate to how villages and towns tend to be built. Here’s a resource. People come to gather the resource. They build homes. People come to feed the workers, build homes. People come to utilize the resource, build homes. The towns surrounding many historic castles grew this way. Builders, stonemasons, lumberers, carpenters, painters, blacksmiths, architects, leather workers, rope makers… and all the people needed to feed them and maintain their tools and clothes and animals. And they all need housing!

    • @sonwig5186
      @sonwig5186 Рік тому +3

      That's not entirely true. Most settlements were not built to be close to resources for most of history. They were built on fertile ground, near rivers, and in defencible positions.

      @@FlowersOfIcetor True, but not in the same way iron is. Before the modern period, most settlements were not made around specific resources. They were often built in strategic places for trade or for the military. I think its much more accurate to say most settlements were built where the soil was rich, around a fort or in a place where merchants could get to easily. There mining towns, but more often there were normal towns that became hubs for selling ore, like stannaries, after mines were founded nearby, rather than being at the mine itself.

      @RadXader 9 місяців тому +1

      Yea, not to be that guy but until he got a tavern he was working on it by himself. And only after building already a pretty big settlement people moved in, which is not accurate. Only after that it became community

      really love the idea of this mod, it sounds like a playthough i tried to create half a dozen times, unfortunately the mods i had at the time could only do some of what i wanted.
      i wanted to turn my other larger houses into places for the homeless NPC's including more locations for the orphan children, but i couldn't find the mods to make that a reality.
      the mod i used to make all of these houses and my money was a really cool economy mod called re-real-estate, that mod allows you to purchase almost every house, mine, business, farm, inn in the game and allowed you to make passive income per location which could be set to your leisure, anyway each city had their own income based on the location and population so it mattered, anyway i just wanted to help people in skyrim in more ways than one.
      it was fun to play this idea in my head, but it was limited in scope because the mods i used were limited in scope and really needed some kind of addons that i had all kinds of ideas for but as i said i was limited to what i could make possible, i had this whole other side of my idea that i would kill bandits and take their locations and turn these locations into cities, but again limitations of mods that existed and i could never do what i wanted fully.
      i essentially wanted to rebuild Rome, lol, like in assassins creed brotherhood but in skyrim. i loved the idea of this basic gameplay loop, it just needed to be so much more than it was in my head to fully make me feel like it was all worth it.

    • @5226-p1e
      @5226-p1e Рік тому

      don't get me wrong, because i like the idea of mods like this, but sometimes these kinds of mods can be a bit monotonous and feel very big in scope but annoying because like everything else in skyrim, you have to put in all the work, i think if there was a system that allowed the player to play another way as an option like for example, say you have lots of money and you want to hire some workers to build the town for you, they take some of your money while you adventure for some time and continue to pay them until the job is done, this could be a process of time and it could build several locations while you adventure the world and play the game, but you could go to these towns and see what they got done, maybe make a few adjustments of your own, but i would like some kind of automated process as an option and not have the player doing everything themselves like in FO4.

      there are actually quite a bit of women modders on the nexus for skyrim, but yeah your right, most men are the ones who make these mods most of the time.
      the only few i personally know are binx, then MXR's girlfriend or wife? it's been a while but i think she goes by the name something panda, she did that mod "recorder" which is an NPC follower mod, it's been a while, then there is elinora i might have some of the spelling wrong.
      actually i think there is another but i'm not sure she's a modder or just a voice actor herself, she does actually a few roles but she's most known for her Sofia funny voiced follower mod, then another is the Vilgia mod, i think she's from Sweden, i know there are others, some do NPC mods of good looking female NPC's, it's not always men making these mods.

    • @Verchiel_
      @Verchiel_ Рік тому

      Probably the most well known is Elianora, a modder that mostly did follower and house mods.
      She was also commissioned to make some new homes for Skyrim's anniversary creation club content.
      And to boot, she was also hired by bethesda to make some interiors for Starfield.
      Also happens to be a streamer. @@5226-p1e

    Funny enough I've actually been playing nearly this exact modlist for about a month, and it's pretty fun. I do struggle with the fact that there's no progression in terms of the materials you need to build though, unfortunately everything just requires the same logs and iron and so the only real investment is time. Kind of wish we had to use like, steel and dwarven materials for more advanced builds.

Then there are fine people like you who just want to build things and take it easy. I play Skyrim in a similar way, i get a lot of immersive mods, i travel with a follower, i use tents to sleep in, i hunt and eat food, i trade goods to vendors and after a long day of adventuring i pitch up a tent or lay down some sleeping bags and turn in. After i get tired of the many quests of Skyrim i will probably get into these creative mods in which you just have a peaceful life and build things.
