Although id change the title to "featuring Shark from Junji Ito's Gyo" however lol might stop some of the people going on about him missing from the video..
A clip of this video was included in Super Eyepatch Wolf's latest video, "The Bizarre World of Fake Video Games", and that's how I found it. Great work.
I think the shark would look more consistent if it was smooth shaded on the top part, so the light would look closer to the PS1's Gouraud shading and more organic. And damn, 6:10 image size in inches instead of pixels! I know Photoshop comes with that by default, but I thought only graphic designers used it to match real paper sizes. I'd never imagine one using that for game textures. 😅
this is really nice I love this kind of Style sadly I haven't found a tutorial for Blender so a total beginner like me can get into doing stuff themselves
@@sahlibrahimi nah i was joking I was hoping to see junji ito the entire video but I didn't saw him so.... But it's cool video I have been lately interested in retro style artworks so it's informative.
What did he do during the beginning when making the shark shape? I apologize, I’m extremely new to blender. It looked like it made creating general shapes manageable.
i might cover this in another video but here's the method create a plane , then import the texture you want on the material of the plane , let's say for example it's a gun , now trace the gun with knife tool , remove the outside parts , then extrude it if you wanna go a step ahead you can edit the UVs of the extruded profile sides , and either have another SIDE View texture for the parts or just use your previous texture and try to place them on the parts of the textures that will make them look seamless hope you understand this since it's hard to explain on text

That was amazing but is it possible to show us how creat ps2 style graphics. Everyone talks about ps2 style but I prefer the early 2000s graphics not too realistic not to pixelated and shity .
ps1 did not have specular reflections, bilinear texture filtering, realtime shadows, surface normals for lighting, perspective correct texture mapping, floating point vertex calculations, or intersecting triangles. The models are great, but the rendering is very inaccurate to the ps1 hardware.
Well obviously I wasn't trying to achieve 100% accuracy I'm just showing how anyone can make ( ps1 style 3D models ) , 3d characters on ps1 didn't even have a RIG like thise , they used to separate characters into parts so they can animate each part alone
the video was previously titled " How To Make PS1 Graphics in Blender ( ft. Junji ito ) " as a joke
that's why some comments talk about this
did u get a cease and desist or something
@@DOFT.mp4 nah people believed it and waited for him to show up
very humble of Junji ito to participate, great video man :)
yeah it was nice of him, next guest is gonna be hideo kojima
i hope he isn't as shy as junji ito and appear on the video
I found it so funny when the guy was just so casually moving, when the shark was chasing him, talk about game classics.
Its an absolute crime you dont have more subs or views! Please do more Junji Ito stuff like this!

try to make the smallest thing you can make, don't try to go big from the start
