Well, well, well. I'm not surprised they did this free move for everyone. Suckerpunch is really one hell of a developper for this year. This game is their highlight, like was Infamous 2 in 2011.
inFamous 2 is still one of my favourite games, made so many levels for the hell of it lol Second Son was a bit of a letdown mainly with length and some parts being unfinished, not to mention the graphical downgrade from the trailer. But with Ghost of Tsushima being great im hoping the next inFamous entry is just as good.
The solo campaign was already 100% amazing, wich way more than most companies are showing to be able to do rn. And then they do a FREE online multiplayer mode, all of it with a lot of attention taken into it. Thank you Sucker Punch, thank you for showing us that companies can still be kind to their consumers.
Monster Hunter has been doing this for years, the base games can already be played for hundreds of hours easily but they just keep adding free new content for years on.
Exactly, From software as well,as all of their games have online PvP, co-op but none have micro transactions even after 30 million sales but CD project red gets all the praise for being the only consumer friendly company. I guess deserve sincce Capcom or From isn't an western company so they won't get the title they deserve
@The last View Ever! Yea that's why the producer of Street Fighter was forced to step down and replaced by the producer of MH, and next gen SF is pushed to beyond 2022. Every single Capcom franchise except its fighting game division is doing great work.
Sadly they've gone over board with all these cosmetics. Just check the dlc tab. I know you need none of that, but the MH team designed the best, unique and cool looking weapon pendants and sell them for 99 cent instead of implementing it ingame. With the latest update these cosmetics even show ingame with a lock next to it. Not cool if you ask me, since Fatalis was the last content patch.
@@khaychi I'm perfectly fine with paying artists for putting out new work, cosmetics etc., it's not like there's not already 200+ sets that you can freely customise from head to toe.
I think this is why we value nostalgic games so much. When you got the game, you got the whole game, and it was great. Now everything is sold in pieces, you don't get that feeling of just having an amazing title that you paid for outright. I honestly hope this becomes the new trend.
Dragon's Red Yeah it is getting kinda political/psychoanalytical. People don’t like spending 60$ on a game only to see there’s a shop on launch with stuff that’s been taken out. But that’s now the way it is industry-wide. Now it is novel to find a games company that passionately makes a solid product to achieve their sales quota and then goes “hey people like this what could we add to say thanks?” THAT, is what appreciating your customer looks like and I think it’s an important way to A; Satisfy the consumer and B, make people remain interested in your products long-term. E.g. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt + 15 Free DLC + 2 30-40 hrs Expansions of arguably standalone quality. Now, Cyberpunk 2077 is essentially marketing it’s self and is set to become one of the biggest (sales-wise, jury is still out after all) games of the coming decade due to the good faith they garnered with their previous title. Meanwhile EA are in hot water with governments around the world...granted they did make BANK.💰💰💰 Delayed gratification is legit. I’d bet my bottom dollar that Sucker Punch’s next title will get free press dude to the consumer friendly practices. Bet. 💵 Edit: Grammar mistakes.
GaultSilber nah it’s always going to be about money weather we like it or not. One good deed proves absolutely nothing. The game’s good, time will only tell how long that lasts. Especially with a company like Sony.
@@kooljoetriple0g911 one good deed proves absolutely one good deed. you should praise an good thing just like you should criticize a bad thing. I don't see the reason why we shouldn't praise them for this one thing. we could always, you know, criticize them if they turn out different in the future.
@Hans Yolo we should all collectively not buy any ea products for next five years no matter how good the reviews are no matter the price cause like in a bad relationship we need to cut ties with them so maybe as a company they can focus on themselves and changing permanently not temporarily just to pull people in and we should do the same for Activision too.

A studio puts out a game that is finished so they can concentrate on making it better after release instead of finishing it after release. What a novel concept!
I always wondered what happened to Infamous. I was often upset that it was a great series that was dropped. Turned out SP was working on this glorious masterpiece of a game. Worth.
I feel like Ghost Of Tsushima sets itself up for a sequel better than Infamous Second Son did. And given the success of the former, I feel Infamous might be sidelined for a while.
Imagine putting time and effort into making a new, well-thought and amazing game AND making choices for the people, bringing a better name to your brand and IP

Not rapping on Sucker Punch for this spectacular move. But this was common practice for many games so it's funny how used we got to being abused as overpaying customers.
I feel as if EA isnt being bullied enough for their outrageous statement back when they said “single player games are dead” which they did so they could scam people into buying Anthem, which ended being an awful game with wasted potential
Sucker Punch: We present you, the gaming audience, stuff you'll be looking forward to when it comes! Everyone: YAY! Forget Ghost of Tsuhima, trade it in at GameStop and buy our EA-brand games! Everyone: ...Who is EA again?
It's the rule of capitalism. Instead of continuing to produce quality products, the manufacturer uses the prestige their name engenders to create cheaper products but still receive the same level of revenue.
Sucker Punch has officially become my second favorite company, closing in on CDPR's First Place. The only reason they didn't usurp CDPR is because they admitted beforehand that they have to go back on the prompt se of crunch knowing it would likely hurt sales since they broke a promise. . .and even if Polish Laws didn't demand Overtime being paid overtime all the time, I'm certain CDPR would still give paid Crunch. So as it stands, out of a perfect score of 100: CDPR 97 - Sucker Punch 94.
Glad to see someone else not suddenly thinking CDPR is a steaming pile of shit all of sudden because CRUCH. NEWS FLASH INTERNET they delayed the game ONCE to avoid the crunch, then COVID 19 HAPPENED so they delayed it again. Pretty sure they dont want to delay it again, cus if they did it would only be on new consoles.
@@jaywerner8415 Exactly. Pretty sure if people knew that if they did have to delay again, likely they'd have to dump more money into a new console they'd shut their mouths. It's why I removed only two points from my scale. They were upfront and transparent, and highly apologetic. Plus, I'm certain even the employees want Cyberpunk 2077 to be released in 2020, if only for the irony that Mike created Cyberpunk 2020. They're pretty much passionate employees, and the crunch is basically for the Day One patch so I'm certain they'll be fine.
@@ThiccNoodlez Not to mention the NEXT GEN VERSION UPGRADE IS FUCKING FREE. If you buy now that is, and all the shit they are shoving into the game box (for those countries getting physical releases admittedly)
If a company does its best to mitigate crunch and take care of its employees, that's what matters. The reality is it's a business, and a lot of the time, crunch is unavoidable. It's a balancing act. If they took steps to alleviate it as much as they could, that's good.

Can we talk about how SuckerPunch isn't actually living up to their name? A sucker punch is a cheap shot that tends to be extremely unfair. Meanwhile SuckerPunch has been the biggest bros showing how you take care of your community.
They are sucker punching the status quo of the gaming industry. Big wigs like EA and Bethesda will swear this type of thing will never work. And admittedly, it won't make as much money as quickly as a pure monetization would. But in the long run, folks will jump on a sucker punch game out of trust and loyalty but scoff and have to be convinced of an ea title. Which means fewer buyers so EA has to monetize harder to get their profit margins in the right location. Which just creates a vicious cycle.
thank you for calling this out in a positive video yong. your voice travels far and loud and it's nice to see you sometimes using your powers for "good".
One thing that I haven’t seen people mention enough about Ghost of Tsushima is the visual storytelling in the main campaign. The pillars of honor are almost all dioramas of a battle scene with a clear story. I found a wooden boat on a beach with supplies inside and a body next to it, stabbed to death A blood trail led to another body, shot by arrows. A trail of footsteps led be around a cliff corner and made me run straight into a group of ronin next to a tortured body, presumably the ones who killed the other two as well.
With a new generation of consoles just around the corner, good will towards consumers now can be the difference between failure and success for developers and publishers going forward.
Hamid Mehrdad failure and success doesn’t have to mean riches or bankruptcy exclusively. EA and Activision are proof that greedy companies can squeeze their customers like they’re making lemonade to stay on top of the market, but they’ve got no good will. People simply buy their games because they’re invested in a franchise. How long do you think they can keep dumping polished turds on the market before they get flushed for good? People who believe they’re not going anywhere no matter what they do are the reason they’re still here. Stop accepting their behaviour. People talk about hating greedy corporations, all while they feed the ones doing the worst shit. And then defend them. Makes no sense to me. Spend your money on developers and publishers who deserve it, not on those who feel entitled to it because they’ve been selling you slight variations of the same thing since 94, especially when they’ve been phoning it in for the last 10 years or so. You’re not their personal piggy bank, you’re not their bitch, and you owe them nothing, period.
@@bleezair I know and I won’t be buying any of their games. They suck. But their games won’t be failures because there are plenty of people who don’t understand what they’re doing. All being nice to consumers mean is they won’t make as much money as EA because they won’t have micro transactions. I know they’d rather be nice and we appreciate it, but EA’s games will make a lot more money.
Hamid Mehrdad In essence, you’re exactly right. But anthem was proof that there are limits. EA puts out garbage and anthem turns into an overnight ghost town. Bethesda with FO76, Bungie with Destiny 2 etc. How long can they truly get away with their reprehensible practices? It’s crazy to think how fragile they truly are. If we all stopped buying and playing their games for even one year, they’d all liquidate. It happened before, in the gaming industry’s infancy. They put out too much garbage with large price tags, and boom, just like that, everybody stopped gaming. Took the industry a while just to get peoples attention again, and if it wasn’t for Nintendo, it would’ve taken much longer. That’s why Nintendo has kept the same standard for so long, they saw the first extinction first hand, and I’m sure they know how easily it can happen again.
@@bleezair and that’s why I hope that they die. I’m glad that some of their games are failing because it shows that they can only go so far. Honestly, those companies should go bankrupt and the higher ups should go to jail for all that they’ve done. Then the gaming industry can return to what it was.

Ive been a fan of sucker punch since infamous. When ghost of tsushima was announced i remember people being iffy about it. Now seeing everyone loving this game and giving SP praise for there hard work, definitely Sony's best first party studio.
Sly Cooper was one of the best games on PS3 so I've been a fan since then. I wasn't a huge fan of Infamous but Ghost was simply amazing. I cannot wait to jump back in
I was gonna say, the titles they make where it would make sense have had dlc, the great thing about Sony is they dont force or mandate dlc if it's not needed (GoW and Detroit come to mind, both were 100% complete experiences) and they avoid microtransactions altogether in their 1st party titles (aside from MLB The Show but that's going multi-plat)
Joshua Rogers While true, I feel CDPR has some fucking dark days ahead. They’re publicly traded and TenCent can easily afford to buy majority in them as the founders only own 30 ish percent. Great games, tho.
@@aeonremnant dark days ahead maybe. But look at what they have done with the Witcher franchise! Plus they are modest to their fanbase. They have a no bs approach
Joshua Rogers Again, TenCent can easily buy them out. If CP2077 does well they’ll have put a much larger target on their head, and the problem with being publicly traded is that they have no choice, if someone rich enough chooses to buy majority they can freely do it. I do love CDPR, but being blind to that risk is a fools mistake.
I mean, CDPR have added microtransactions to their multiplayer for Cyberpunk, and forced crunch on their employees, so I wouldn't say they're quite worthy themselves right now.
@@Joe90h I mean Polish crunch is a lot different from US crunch. CDPR actually makes it worth the extra work for employees unlike others present in the US.

I think Sucker Punch deserves to be remembered for this act in this period of time. They made a game on artistic integrity, and made it well. Congratulations Sucker Punch. You've made this year a bit more bearable.
I can't believe we're at this point where free updates are being praised, that's just something that used to be standard, you pay for expansions not updates and every single little new feature and cosmetic as microtransactions... when you buy a game you should get the game, end of story.
uhh they are being praised BECUZ Ghosts was already a complete open world RPG full of 100's of hours of content and now they giving the legends update for free too. the Legends multiplayer update is def expansion level dude they coulda charged for it and no one woulda complained.. ( new 4 player coop mode with missions, 2player coop story, and RAIDS, 4 classes and bunch of gear to unlock.) yah thats why we are praising this cuz it is EXPANSION level.
It's basically a free expansion though - tons of new systems, new stuff, multiplayer and on and on - there's a reason that this being a free update is praised and it's not your bs belief if a game gets new content then the game was incomplete before
Im legit picking Ghost back up after hearing how awesome Sucker Punch is. I thought I'd be satisfied already finishing it to hell and back, but DAMN do they keep delivering

Now it is novel to find a games company that passionately makes a solid product to achieve their sales quota and then goes “hey people like this what could we add to say thanks?”
THAT, is what appreciating your customer looks like and I think it’s an important way to A; Satisfy the consumer and B, make people remain interested in your products long-term.
Meanwhile EA are in hot water with governments around the world...granted they did make BANK.💰💰💰

They were upfront and transparent, and highly apologetic. Plus, I'm certain even the employees want Cyberpunk 2077 to be released in 2020, if only for the irony that Mike created Cyberpunk 2020. They are sucker punching the status quo of the gaming industry. Big wigs like EA and Bethesda will swear this type of thing will never work. "I need this in my life" ~ Yong yea 2020
I don’t think so. EA and Activision aren’t going anywhere and they’ll be making more money than people who are nice to consumers.
That’s why Nintendo has kept the same standard for so long, they saw the first extinction first hand, and I’m sure they know how easily it can happen again.

uhh they are being praised BECUZ Ghosts was already a complete open world RPG full of 100's of hours of content and now they giving the legends update for free too. the Legends multiplayer update is def expansion level dude they coulda charged for it and no one woulda complained..
