At 120v you can run a 30A circuit. Per the manual it says it will draw up to 29.6 amps at 240. Per national electric code Take full load amps and multiply by 1.25 and get 37 amps you then round up to a 40 amp breaker. The cord is a Nema 6-50R which is a 50 amp 240v cord. Which plugs into a 50 amp outlet. Yeah the book says minimum 30A circuit, but we chose to run a 50 to get the max out of it as well as run someone else’s equipment later. Run #8 wire as well. We both may say we don’t know what we’re doing on a lot of stuff but we’re both qualified electrically. We appreciate the question. BTW this is the old man responding.

Ive got the 180 with the spool gun. Absolutely love it. Its not rated for it but ive used it on half inch steel.

It works great! I’m by no means an expert welder and it’s pretty easy to use. I would definitely buy it again
