    It's a mystery to me why some channels have over 1m subs and rattle through moves with virtually no explanation, while your channel offers far more in-depth analysis in videos that are still perfectly reasonable length. I'm sure 100k will come very soon and then many more...

    • @Effivera
      @Effivera 11 місяців тому +1

      I have wondered the same. I suspect it has to do with blind luck (aka UA-cam algorithms promoting some channels over others).

      @@Effivera Gothamchess is a hybrid between entertainment, chess and chess news. Im not a fan of the entertainment part, but it's really useful when covering large tournament like the Olympiad, or general updates in the chess world. Meanwhile Agadmator clearly had the most standardized format of analysis with lots of details for lower rated and casual chess fans, AND he covers the most number of games. Nothing to do with blind luck, just that the demand for pure, advanced chess analysis of selected games is simply nowhere near the demand for, say, a daily update of Magnus vs Hikaru blitz battle. Not too mention the catch phrases and signatures these 2 channel has created. Its not like many ppl can binge watch Daniel vids like us

    It seems clear to me that Carlsen is finding it hard to motivate himself to play classical chess right now. I hope he will find enough interest to make a comeback!

    Absolutely brilliant middle game by Carlsen…Dominating

  • @alpay3300

    One of the biggest throws I've seen by Carlsen actually ever. The position looked so commanding, but it felt like he got a little bit too overconfident. It didn't feel necessary to allow the piece sacrifice on f4. It also didn't feel necessary to go into an endgame when White enjoys the more active pieces. And giving the rook on e4 really shocked me. It either wins immediately (which should be well calculated) or it gets extremely messy... Either way, great struggle!
    P.S.: Nice Brentford cup you have there Mr. King 🙂

    Thank you for this one! I played a similar game recently where my opponent crushed me positionally early but I ended up creating counterplay and mating. After the game I was very sad and thought this was a "patzer" game - now I see that I actually fought like Firouzja!

    Wow, he made Alireza look like a beginner and then fumbled it like one at the end. :)
    Such a strange game. I really liked Alireza's g5 move. However, I cannot believe he didn't follow it up with g4 sooner as you pointed out. It's like he was on his way to almost refuting Carlsen's opening choice but then decided to let him have the time to turn the tables on him.
    Odd to think this and stranger to say it, but it always seems to me that Carlsen has such a better understanding of the game than Firouzja does. More than he should. As evident by his choice of openings where he just wants to take him out of book and play chess. Despite Alireza being 2800ish, I don't think he would have ever tested Magnus in a WC match. Not yet, at least. He's still young. Maybe in 3 to 5 years, well after Magnus has left his prime.

    • @roqsteady5290
      @roqsteady5290 11 місяців тому

      He seems to major on risk and confidence so maybe wouldn't choke after a loss. In the recent WC the result swung one way and the other not so much due to playing ability, but to self belief.

  • @roqsteady5290
    @roqsteady5290 11 місяців тому +2

    Typical Firouza game! He created such total chaos that Carlsen went wrong even a piece up. Shouldn’t they really be making 80 move draws in the Berlin Defence? That was the way things seemed to be going a few years ago.

  • @gerritkloss4596

    Actually Carlsen's 23.Qc3 was a mistake, allowing 23.-c5!, as Gukesh showed during the game. Now 24.Nxc5 is not possible because of 24.-Qxd6 winning a piece, and after 24.Bxc5 dxc4 the game is completely balanced according to Stockfish. But Firouzja missed the opportunity.

    • @derekpugh9385
      @derekpugh9385 11 місяців тому +1

      Gukesh spotted this quickly although I think this may have shown how helpful it is to know that there’s a tactical opportunity to be found (as the commentators had told him). The commentators expected both Firouzja and Carlsen to spot it after Qc3 had been played but it’s not so easy I think without knowing the computer evaluations.

    Chess is a hard and frustrating game. Carlsen got a winning position, then one careless move and all the advantage lost....see my games for ample demonstration of that! If Fabi does hold on to win the tournament it will be a huge boost to his confidence and do not be surprised if he goes on a run and back over 2800
