Love this stuff. I used to write for logistics trade magazines and went on a press trip to Louisville for UPS. They even took us out on the ramp at midnight and let us sit in the cockpit of a cargo 747. It probably seems boring to many people, but in reality it's a very exciting market.

That said, those two employees who are shown doing things that go against FedEx/UPS "corporate values" and then being fired had probably been driven to the point of cerebral haemorrhage by the minute micromanagement of every second, every motion they make in their trucks, not to mention the intense deadline pressure every day.

come work at either UPS or FedEx. we're expected to go through thousands of packages within 2 or 3 hour sorts. it's impossible to treat every package like a baby while trying to get the sort down on time. if you're worried about your package being damaged, insure it, and make sure it's packed correctly. not our fault if there is nothing inside the box protecting the item. if the package you received is damaged, you can return to sender.

+Mr. Hiram It's because of your greed. The west demand too much, meaning there will BE mistakes, it's impossible to do ALL this and not have mistakes once in a while. People a 1000 miles away want their parcel is less than 12 hours and want to pay affordable prices at the same time.

    • @MrHiram30

iamhim Personally, I have waited even two months to receive a parcel (USPS).

    • @lorenioooooas
      @lorenioooooas 8 років тому

Mr. Hiram And like i said, because of the greed of the west. We are the ones who asked for this. Do you know how easy it is to lose a parcel? Look at all those sorting machines and planes they use, all it takes is for one parcel to just drop, or have a label fall off. And boom ,you'll never see that parcel again.
The fact is because of they way consumers demanding from companies, these companies are doing crazy things to satisfy those demands.
That means, there WILL be mistakes.
You CANNOT be loading millions of parcels from trucks to planes, to several warehouses everyday and not have one or two parcels lost in a while.

After 4 very disturbing experiences, I cancel every purchase that is going to be delivered by Fedex. The problem with them is not only the staff are liars... i.e. they say we did not find you home when you have been waiting for delivery all day,but also that the delivery office staff are rude and aggressive. In one incident I had to go back home twice to bring in evidence that I am who I am. I would not recommend Fedex to my enemy. It is repulsive.

Sreeja Ghosh everyone needs to have an account set up with their shippers. The communication barrier gets eliminated. You can literally have your package 📦 tossed on your roof at your request. As for signature required packages, again you can modify all your deliveries through tracking with an account. Also get familiar with your drivers. I give my number out to my customers to create a better business relationship with them personally. But then again that’s up to you the customer. Don’t be a dick and have your dog on a leash or fenced in please and thank you. #goups

Of course UPS is gonna show the good side to them. I used to work for them seasonally in Oak Creek, WI. this is the most dysfunctional business I've EVER worked for. Not to mention the sexual assault rumors

Fedex is the fastest for overseas shipments, and overnight. UPS is good for hazmat shipments inland, non time essential packages. USPS is good for APO military shipments, envelope mail, and non time essential packages.

even though knocking or ringing the door bell is technically "required" by drivers, drivers dont like knocking on doors to let customers know they dropped something off because customers tend to hold them up and conversate with them a lot of the time. customers do not understand how busy the driver's schedule is and they must keep moving to get done. i work for fedex express, just telling you how the business is run.

Just remember UPS treats packages alot better then FedEx so yes fedex might get it there faster but UPS will get it there more likely undamaged

Algorithms are the way of how the computer software designed to work, as it's a step by step procedure for calculations that used to calculate data processing, and automated reasoning or instructions. Ex: why first truck has 300 package while the second one has 100? because there is a different in package size for example, and the computer( or the software algorithm decided that depending on many calculation for the packages size and trucks size etc...).

Now if both companies could explain how a package can go across the states from the east coast to the west coast in about a day, yet it takes 5 days to travel 50 miles. However that's only if you go with 3 day ground service with both of them.

Only through automation and smart processes can business grow fast. I've put together a few videos in my channel (this applies for UPS shippers using WorldShip). Also to ship smarter, companies need to learn how to automate their processes.

i work for ups brokerage we are charged by customs when we send our custonms entries down the line, therefore we charge .
if you got an ordinary broker to complete a sad document they will charge you 60 euro plus depending on how many headings you have in your customs entry.

I tried to get something via Fedex Ground and just like UPS, I don't get a knock on my door, I get a sticky note. With Fedex, if you want to redirected or shipped at a certain time, they want money for it. Luckily nowadays you can fill out a form at your post office and get a street address for your PO box so you can get shipments there. Since there's always someone available to sign for stuff, you can get it there no problem.

I don't think you can really complain about ur package being placed on your door step (depending on what kind of neighborhood you love in) b/c some people prefer having their package placed on their door step since most people don't want to go through the hassle oF going to FedEx to pick up the package.
