@@robovac3557 I agree it was bad, lots of plotholes and things that don't make sense, but the last couple episodes changed my mind a bit. I think a lot of the poor decisions show things like Dexter losing his touch a bit, explains why Harrison was so out of control, etc.. and Kurt was a fantastically acted character.
He's probably the nicest guy in the world but he TOOK his nitche as being the A**hole character and has worked it to perfection. He's severely underrated as an actor
Rich is one of my favorite interviewers. You can actually feel his genuine excitement we all share when meeting our favorite celebrities and how he asks the same questions we all have. I met Clancy Brown back in the mid-80's in a book store in the Beverly Center in Beverly Hills, CA. He was researching his 'backstory' of the role in the then, upcoming 1988 thriller, 'SHOOT TO KILL' (Roger Spotswoodie - dir., stars - Sidney Poitier, Tom Berenger, Kirstie Alley). We spoke for about 10 minutes and he was truly a gent through & through. It's professionals like Clancy Brown that make working in this, or any business, worth it. D.A.
❤ He played the woodshop teacher in "The Goldbergs" and the had two Highlander clubs at that school. And in one scene he said. "There can be ony one.. highlander club". It literally gave me goosebumps..
I remember the first time i saw him - he was a monster! Not really, but he played what I would consider the benchmark for all over-the-top bad guys playing an immortal in the original, ‘Highlander’. If you haven’t seen that flick, it’s worth a watch just to see his performance. Great actor and fun to watch.
The original Highlander is the only one worth watching. That being said, that movie was epic! I saw it in the theater when it first came out and have been a fan since.
Any Clancy fans who haven’t watched Carnivale, it’s well worth a watch. One of the most unique shows I’ve ever watched in my life. Canceled way too soon
Brilliant actor who IMO never got the credit he thoroughly deserves. The first time I saw him was in Highlander which is still one of my all time favourite films.
@Jon Bennett Matsuka was cool. I do miss him too. But this is a different beast and just one season to finish up a loose end. I was pleasantly surprised to see Batista though. We may even get to see Mathews.
Clancy brown is clearly one of the best actors I've ever seen... I love his performances... his voice performances are amazing. If you don't know. Just an amazing person with his performances... am I wrong?
I think only nerds can truly appreciate how great of an actor Clancy Brown is.. because if you count his voice acting credits.. this guy has been in almost everything you can think of
Clancy (Surtir) Brown...what a gem. This guy is Hollywood Royalty. He has been a huge contribution to so many beloved projects. Man, Clancy!!! We love you!!
The short HBO series Carnivàle was only 2 seasons but was great. Clancy Brown played the evil minister and was great. If you haven`t seen it check it out.
@@billkibby7900 I was too. The production costs is the reason I think. Two other shows come to mind that were very good and were shut down. The Knick and Tabboo. I think they were both from FX. Check those out.

It's very refreshing to see the real Clancy Brown as opposed to the times he plays mean characters. I guess that just shows how great of an actor he truly is.
The first movie I saw Clancy in was “Love, Lies and Murder”. He played such a diabolical character that it made me think he was really evil. His role in “Shawshank Redemption” didn’t help! In reality, he seems like a nice guy.
I'm sorry, but there can be only one Kurgan. No disrespect to anyone else, but no-one could have played that part the way Clancy Brown did. Much love from Scotland. x 😊
I probably shouldn't say this but Harrison kills Dexter in the end, full circle moment, and a spin of series follows with Jack Alcock(Harrison) as the lead.
Been a Fan of Clancy Brown since the 80's when he was the Kurgen.. Pet Cemetery two.. he was hilarious as an undead demon dude. Of course Shawshank he was brilliant.. Starship Troopers he was dope.. Was like YESSSS when I saw him in Dexter: New Blood.. it definitely gave it away that he was going to be the 'big bad'.. it's friggin Clancy.. I wasn't sure how Dexter was going to best him.
Great interview, but there's a Dexter New Blood spoiler at around 20:50 for those that are watching the Show. (it's minor, but important to the plot). Clancy Brown is awesome in it, if you aren't watching , start.

He's absolutely killed it in Dexter, but he does in everything he's in. Class act.
He’s an emotional man, loves his shinebox
Yep, total pro! Love his many villain roles…
I agree. As good a performance as Arthur Mitchell.
Yes he was a massive bright spot in a an otherwise upsetting remake.
If I remember correctly he was also in Pat Cemetery 2 to
He totally deserves more credit .... He's brilliant in New Blood... Perfect addition to the Dexter universe.
That show is bad. Bad show.
I have widely considered the Trinity Killer to be the best villain of the series. Kurt Caldwell is becoming a strong number two.
The way he plays Kurt when things don't go right is amazing, like he's about to explode, simmering lol
Hes coming up, amazing in dexter now i heard hes gonna be in john wick 4. Hes good

It’s technically the highest rated movie of all time
