  • We experience the incredible hospitality in Croatia as we continue our journey bikepacking across Europe from London to Istanbul. The Balkans have possibly the nicest people we've met in all our travels. However, because this is a bikepacking adventure there is plenty of challenges as well.

12th country!!!!! Wow! I don't want it to end, either. Too bad the bike path didn't last long there - those highways with no shoulder don't look that fun to ride on. Really enjoying your videos! Thank-you for sharing.

Hey guys, awesome trip! Really enjoying this series.
With the campgrounds do you usually just call up in the morning and book then? Or do you literally just turn up and book on site? I'm always worried what happens if I turn up too late and it's closed etc. Would be great to know how you find is the best and easiest way to go about it :)
Also would be great to know how you booked that room, didnt quite catch the name of it.
Looking forward to the next episode already!!

We just show up to campgrounds. We’ve never had a problem getting a spot as long ad they accept tent campers. We always check reviews to make sure they are not an rv only campground.
The website we use to book lodging is booking.com.

Noticed how your best days were when you did less than 50km? Well, that's how me and my wife do our tours, as little as possible without getting bored. No specific mileage goal each day, not even a final destination goal. Just enjoy the moment. When the time is up we catch a bus or train back to the car. We see cyclists all the time like they were on a mission, not even time to say hi and I know they missed the beautiful church, river or beach where we stopped.

We did a lot more sightseeing in Western Europe because there was so much to see. I couldn’t imagine doing a trip like this and not stop to take in the sights.

Hi guys! Thanks for this videos series, really fun to watch! In which months did you do this trip? I’m from Canada and going mid-April to do Zurich-Istanbul, so this helps! :-) Any way to see what route / gps route you took? Cheers!🎉

Hi! So glad you enjoy the video series! We did the trip mid August through end of October. We still need to compile the gps route but will be doing that soon and posting it to our website! We will announce on here when that’s up :)

TG for endorphins, eh? Love your videos but wish you'd share more of your restaurant (or other hospitality) meals so we can appreciate the local cuisine. Yes that would be my main motivation on such a trip. Im a backpacker & never get to go to restaurants out bushwscking.

Stop dairy and sugar; and your migraines will begin disappearing.
But it will take a while. The toxins from the 2 foods are lodged in your teeny tiny brain arteries.
They are so small; that blood cells are travelling in and out in single file.
You can place 4000 blood cells on a pin head.
The more salt you will consume; the sooner those arteries will be clean, and migraines be gone.
If you will ask your doc, he will say the salt is causing your migraines.
Eat as much salt as you want.
When your body has sufficient sodium; your desire for it will be gone.

Interesting. I wish it were that simple, but unfortunately it isn’t. We both stuck to an incredibly strict diet earlier in that year and in this diet we had no sugar or dairy, we also have no problem eating salt and eat quite a bit, our family is always surprised. During that time Liz still got migraines periodically, she’s had them since she was young and we haven’t been able to identify any consistent triggers.

I have been enjoying your ride immensely, but seeing the word Vukovar gave me pause, and then the brief (uncommented) glimpse of the monument to the Vukovar Massacre of 1991 . It is hard to see your visits to Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegivnia without remembering the terrible war of the nineties. But it is wonderful to see the ordinary people being so welcoming to you.
