13:30 Yes doubtfully this is one of my favourite quotes from Eddy Koopman. Yes as he said with FEPASA or elsewhere in Brazil at the time the Railway was in a turmoil in the 90s but these days Railway is trying to rebuild and they are trying to get industry up and running again. Plus in saying that the 90s was a rough time for the Brazilian Railways where as these days RFFSA has been brought out by MRS Logistica S.A as well as other companies. The MRS is still used today and as other companies still work out fine today. In saying this that is similar to how we have trouble on the so called KiwiRail in New Zealand on the Main North Line as only one day time Train is operational and it used to be many where as when the new Ferries terminal and ships are built they won't have this issue no longer and all trains can be 6 times a day once more instead of the one that bugs me when I film crossings countless times. Yes in saying that ABPF a preservation movement in Brazil is trying to save what they can into preservation as well.
Sadly only 1 long distance train left in Brazil. Curitiba to Paranagua is a beautiful trip that I completed in a train of RDC'S. Sao Paulo state had an extensive network of electric routes. Alas I believe Estacion Luz in Sao Paulo only hosts commuter rail now. Goods lines booming and being upgraded but Brazil seems to have forgotten about her wonderful railways
Alan Greenman I've been blessed to have been able to visit 3 times before my health failed. The railways there and Argentina are a curious mixture of British, American, Italian and Japanese. Modern freight is all American, with Japanese electric locos for Santos line. There is talk of new passenger routes and high speed rail but talk is cheap. Try and visit if you can....it's a great country!
hy Alan ... I loved this publication and this is one of the rare ones that is on youtube with images and clarifications of the Brazilian railroads mainly in the region of São Paulo where we have the largest railway network. Would you like permission to post this video on my train channel, ok?
hi glad you like the video. I must emphasize that I do not own the rights to this video but if you would like to post it on your page it is ok with me.
I love the really cool Little Joes built by GE. Supposed to go to Russia but Uncle Sam got pissed with Stalin so the electrics ended up in South America
Beautiful scenery, patronising commentary, appalling music; why oh way spoil this superb visual production with banal commentary and totally unnecessary 'musak'?
Very beatiful production . Thanks .
Railway line provides affordable mode of transport
Good video and narration!
Fantastic

O vídeo é antigo, provavelmente final dos anos 90... mais provável entre 1996 e 2000.
