Smashing video Matty, fab advice. Think my 12 year old daily bless her needs new now as ive sanded the life out of them , looks like she has had a heavy night on the lash 🤣🤣👍👍
Best explanation ever 😂
Great, seen a few videos of this being done. I first did the polishing kit but didn't last and then did the sand and lacquer without polishing but not good as I like it to be, seems a bit hazy still. Recently bought a polishing machine so gonna eventually detail the whole car when I get some time off and do the lights aswell. May end up putting a coat of lacquer afterwards.
Lacquer is the way, but I can’t be bothered to take the head lights out so I’ve slapped a ceramic coating on. When I’m back of holidays I’ll slap another coating on to make sure it lasts
Nice video mate! I used the Maguires headlight restoration kit with the four wet sand pads and the polish, then used Big White Hi-Temp paste wax to coat them they came up pretty well but was a rush job so do need to do them again, the ceramic coating sounds like a good idea! And as a Milano owner i know all too well what you mean with the tape 😫 haha.
Just tinted mine a few hours ago mate, medium smog so that the are legal (insta pics)... film makes all the difference if you want to do it yourself. Ive put brighter LED lights in so after the tint lowers the light output its about the same as it was to begin with.
Issue we see with LED and HID with tints is heat.
Because it block (some) light output it turns this into heat which crackles the lens on the inside which is game over for clarity if you ever wanted to take it off. If it’s never coming off it’s no problem at all! 👍👍
Great job.
👍
Thanks man
Great stuff matty helps me decide what I need to do with my haggard lights 😂
Yeah half hour job buddy with the correct kit
Great video mate gonna tackle my milano red one this weekend 👍 what polish did you use mate?
Rupes DA green that was mate heavy/medium cutter
What a great video mate, we suffered the same problem on our car. We did not need to go as far as wet sanding luckily.
You can get them relacuered after to keep them amazing
I have the Autoglym kit, anyone used it on here??
Looks great, where did you get the bonnet strut from?
Ali express hahah they are only about £25
Hi bud can I ask what compound did you use please? I'm gonna attempt doing mine so need to get the right polish for it thanks
I used rupes green DA course, but any medium to heavy cutting compound should do nicely. Rupes is quite overpriced
Thankyou
So would it be ok to do all the methods grit paper then polish and then tint I have a black fn1 do I not need to spray them with protective coating first before tinting?
No, you can apply the tint onto the bare plastic once it’s all been polished up as that will be the oxygen barrier
@@Matty_Champwhite my only question is would there be any point in doing the restoration they’re no too bad just don’t look sparkling new if there’s going to be a tint on them anyways
@@MissionKid if you’re tinting them and not using a clear film, little point cosmetically.
But..
remember any degree of oxidisation on them will reduce light output, multiplied by the light output you loose through tinting film
@@Matty_Champwhite thanks a lot for your answers i tinted shit view at night like you said removed them and sprayed them with protective headlight spray
Hi mat,i have a question if you don't mind.
Is the jdm flag a wrap or painted on the hood?
Painted dude, far too many crevices and levels to wrap. Not as easy job haha
Where did you get the headlight restoration kit?
I used Rupes DA polish and standard wet and dry paper. Kits are overpriced
🤣🤣🤣. Respray is needed now mate
Sorry mate ahaha honorary mention haha
@@Matty_Champwhite haha no problem mate. Bloody weak paint on the Milano red 🤣
