Instead of using chalk, you can use a Frixion pen. Write the word out with the pen, sew or glue down the sequins, and then hit the shirt with a warm hair dryer - et voila - the ink disappears!! Really, you could use any marking tool as you cover the ink with prettiness anyway. Loved this idea!!
Hi, I was wondering if you think the sequins could or should be sewn down after gluing just to make it more secure? I recently did a project where I sewed sequins by hand and after washing the piece a lot of the sequins shifted or overlapped other sequins the wrong way. Do you think a needle could go through the glue after its dry or is it too hard to sew through? Thanks! 😊
WHAT?? You glued EACH sequin on... one by one??? Lol, you know they sell sequin strands, right :) Hope my tips helps someone out there that does not have a lot of time (and patience) for this!
Hi Ana ... We're not sure what glues you have available in your area, but you can always order from Amazon by following this link: www.amazon.com/Aleenes-fabric-Permanent-Adhesive-4-Ounce/dp/B00KD6ZHD6/ref=sr_1_6?s=arts-crafts&ie=UTF8&qid=1417736883&sr=1-6&keywords=fabric+fusion or you can contact our Hobby Shop and we can probably ship some to you! Contacts are Vickie Recchia vrecchia@ilovetocreate.com or Uriel Munoz umunoz@ilovetocreate.com. We hope this helps!
Wash in cold water and put in mesh bag orpillow case . Drying on air or lay or hang to air dry no hot heat . Permanent glue like Aleene's Super Fabric Glue will hold.
Hi Jessica ... Yes you can! We recommend washing inside out on gentle cycle (or hand washing) and air drying flat for best results. Make sure to wait at least 72 hours after the glue dries before washing.
Hi there ... yes it can also work on crocheted items as well. Since crochet is different, we recommend using the Fabric Fusion pen, which has a very fine applicator tip, for precise application of the sequins to the crocheted fabric. You can check out the pen version here: aleenes.com/aleenes-fabric-fusion-pen ... please let us know if you have any other questions!
Hi there ... Brandi used Aleene's Quick Dry Fabric Fusion. You can check it out here: www.ilovetocreate.com/aleenes-quick-dry-fabric-fusion-aleenes-quick-dry-fabric-fusion-1
+Guadalupe Garcia Hi ... We do not recommend using a glue gun for this type of project because the hot glue could melt the sequins and might burn the shirt. You can always test on a scrap fabric first to see if it works.
Hi Sonya! Fabric Fusion does permanently bond fabrics and embellishments (like sequins) to fabric. You can definitely wash it as well ... just make sure to wash on gentle cycle or hand wash to best care for your garment and design. =)
