The jazz music was difficult to get used to at first, but the other BGM was much more familiar territory for me- much of it sounded a lot like it carried over some sensibilities from Asian pop music from the 80's, especially the first season of "Sailor Moon". The earlier "Sailor Moon" music even reminded me of some of Teresa Teng's music and, from what I understand, her career really took off when she started performing in Japan.
so cool learning about the history of magical girl OSTs! the thing I love most about sailor moon music is its jazz influences, what with chromatic movement and gorgeous ii-V licks
I wonder if you guys have heard of Ojamajo Doremi!!? Because the soundtrack of its first season (♫Carnival♪) and the second season (Sharp#) was a mix of 80s and 90s And early 2000s!!
A strong sense of rhythm is one of the characteristics arisawa takanori, but the classical taste is also one of his characteristics. The combination of classical and modern is his specialty. The melody always feels flowing in the hearts of the audience. I hope SERASYMPHONY analyze these aspects.Arisawa takanori's music is always too short, but SERASYMPHONY have combined these pieces into a longer and more coherent long music with more connotation, and the composer is very talented. I like this video very much. I hope to have more communication. Thank you!
So interesting! As a lay person, we would never have learned this. Thank you! 🤗 For future episodes, perhaps you can interview some of the other players about the music, or discuss the logistics of putting everything together. :)
I have always wondered why such an anachronic choice of sound in sailor-moon. Sure it sounded groovy and glamorous but the magical or mystical nature of the story and characters did not feel right at times with the disco.
@@sailormoonsymphony Muchas gracias por el trabajo que hacen, se agradece mucho y es enormemente un placer escucharlos! sigan haciendo más música! tenemos que compartirla con el mundo entero! 😍🌙✨
Simple. Because Disco is awesome and so is Sailor Moon.
Yes!😄

Would you say there is a song or album that highlights the similarities? I looked up her music and it's amazing
@Kevin Lee thanks so much for this! appreciate it and feels like enjoying another side that I haven't discovered til now 😍
Disco music in a grunge era, that is Sera Moon!
Oh - that's why every Japanese citypop video I watched features a character from Sailormoon.

Awesome! I was looking for this video!
These videos are great! Hope there's one of the different leitmotifs of each character at some point!
Sailor V was absolutely spawned from Cutie Honey XD
Always wondered about the Charlie’s Angel music vibe
I cackled @ "the TITular theme" at 1:26.
I did too. I had a brief moment to wonder if it was intentional word play, but Bobbie did use the term correctly.
Still funny as all get out tho 🤣🤣

Why not though? It actually works even though the concept clash together.
