I had periroial dermatitis on and off for years and one huge trigger is fluoride toothpaste. I would recommend using a non-fluoride toothpaste if you don't already.Floride is a huge trigger. My derm recommended this! Hope it helps!
I’ve had perioral dermatitis every winter for the last 5 years… I’ve been to dermatologists and tried so many products & prescriptions. But I accidentally found the cure at target. The naturium naicinamide 12% zinc 2% serum literallyyyyy cleared mine up completely in 3 days & I saw major results in 24 hours. I thought it was a coincidence the first time but this winter I had the worst PD ive ever had. It was so red bumpy and became dry and flaky and tight all around my mouth and nose and this serum worked again. I’ve never seen this serum or any similar serum recommended for PD but I promiseeeee it works. I just hope someone sees this and tries bc it is soooo worth the $17.
Make up and cleansing makes the PD worse! I had it twice and my dermatologist recommended to stop using skincare and make up for 4 weeks straight. You should only "wash" your face with water once a day. In winter you can use the La Roche-Posay Toleriane Dermallergo Cream if your skin feels dry. Using nothing on your face is key. I saw results within two days.
ive found cutting out spicy food completely (for a couple months, till my system calms down) helped tremendously, as well as only very gentle products and keeping it simple

Good to know, thank you! Trying to now wash it less and stop obsessing over it.
