what about the ST emil? it gets a much better gun than has still really good DPM and better accuracy and damage per shot...

was in a Hellcat tier VI USA TD one sec before i killed an IS-3 with one shot to the ammo rack Felt like a BOSS then went to kill arty THEN a SU-122-44 in front of me had the 90mm gun 170average pen but didnt pen it , the player one shot killed me with HE XD

Favorite TD
First premium tank I bought and to this day the most played. It works for me in every tier and is being a universal non turret td. Just amazing performer and great gameplay with this tank.
I got it 3 days ago from free epic container in the shop, before that i was playing in tire 5 (KV 1) and this is Huuuge step up!

As someone who has played over 3000 rounds in SU-122-44 (thank you, Jingles), I can safely say that Tier for Tier, this is one of the best vehicles in the game.
High mobility allows for quick relocation if support or retreat is needed, it's insane 6.6s reload time allows for instant pain and when in tier 9 rounds it can easily stack damage and credits. In Tier 7 it is God.
The only downsides are bad gun depression, small gun traverse arc and 1000 credits per shell.
The SU-152 and SU-122S get even more DPM

Yes, but they aren't nearly as mobile and armored as SU-122-44. You can run circles around other TDs in SU-122-44, I've won 1v1 against Tier 8 mediums (while both at full HP) because they were trying to circle my SU-122-44.
Absolutely a beast tank. 2000 games in it.
This tank needs flat ground to fire.
It's odd that they did not mention this. it's the biggest drawback for this tank in my opinion.

I have had this tank from like year 2012 or 2013 and its an amazing tank if you know how to use it. Sometimes it just needs lots of luck
My favorite tank, 5 skill crew makes it a beast if you focus on aim time reduction and rate of fire increase
Is it still worth getting it? I liked SU-100 and SU152, ISU152 were ok too (fell short on mobility though)

This TD is Stalin's Hammer. I keep playing it. I have camo, repair and BiA. This TD is like the soviet version of JgTig 8,8cm; a simply dpm machine and this one has mobility and camo.
And armour. The front armour is awesome.
alphadogg64 Its armour can only bounce if you are the top tier. When you encounter tier 8 or 9 tanks, it's unlikely that you will bounce any shots.

The 390 average damage for the SU-122-44 is bullshit, i have played it for ages, and the average roll i get is 330 damage... Before you shout at me and say i cant know, i did a test over 50 games where i counted the average damage of the shots i fired that werent kill shots, and i got 330 damage average, and i often see it do less than 300 damage...

But in the upcoming 9.6 patch the view range of tank destroyers is going to heavily nerfed, and accuracy of all guns significantly reduced. TDs will probably become impotent, unable to see very far so dependent on team mates playing properly (lol), and unable to hit so much at distance. WG want fewer TDs in the game. So will this still be a pay to win tank? And who on earth spends well over 20 euros on a single tank ... surely that's the price of a whole game! Play this match rigged game at your own peril.
Not the easiest? But it's russian.. every russian vehicle is easy to play and effective

i am thinking in THEORY, with no pen RNG, front-to-front, auto-aim and full accuracy. then the SU-44 can't pen AT2.
Firstly (sorry for taking so long to get back to you, G+ notifications not working) no one using a 122-44 would in their right mind auto aims at an at2 it just would not happen. Secondly, even in your theory, depending on range, unless aiming for a weak point or using prem, the at2 could not reliably pen 44, with just slight angling the place to pen is silly, even at range the commanders cupola sticks out.

honestly tier nine is lunch for the 122-44. just use gld it really helps. don't listen to the guide. and yes you can pen a E-75 in the front. it also has the highest dpm overall of all tier 7s.
Bro, with 217 pen I'm not sure about penning the e75, but anyway what is the point of prem tanks, to make credits and get crew training, so how am I mean to get credits when I have to spam gold 8/10 matches, also its handling is so bad your lucky to hit a fully aimed shot, but I guess it was worth it the £16 discount
and the KV-5 has to use 167 pen against T10.
To be fair ninja if your in a 122-44 trading with an E75 something has gone hilariously wrong

The tank is a Premium tank and was never downgraded. To help acceleration, use the Removed Speed Governor.
