the 797 project was shelved. so what is this video saying??? it is talking about a non-existent program. wow!!! you can really spin out something from nothing...
This is a competitor to the A320Neo and A321XLR? What makes you think Airbus isn't gonna deliver a new plane to compete with this speculated 797 in 10 -15 years time? But hey. maybe Boeing is finally going to stop adding new engines to the 737 and build a new plane, something the engineers in Seattle have been waiting for since the dreamliner.
10 years from now ARBUS will own all aircraft market...this is a desperate decision to make this aircraft to late in this race... airbus 321 XLR already does all the work intended for the B789
The "797" was a concept Boeing phantasized about a few years before the COVID crisis. I have NOT seen any announcement or only a statement close to such by any Boeing executive lately. Because of its peculiarities in quality management, Boeing has tumbled to the brink of collapse. As a consequence they had to massively ramp up activities of quality control, a purpose for which seasoned engineers are needed. So they had to drain other departments and projects to bring additional experienced experts to the shop floor. I have my doubts that right now they could assemble a development staff for any major new airliner development program.
Of course it's a very good concept but not before seven or eight years providing they launch the program now which is quite unlike. Meanwhile, Airbus will have time to think and study new technologies !!
797 will not fly before 2034. I expect better spec from a brand new aircraft that is under developing than todays aircraft. Nothin here is surprising. EDIT! Boeing's new aircraft remains a mystery, with speculation on a twin-aisle 797 or single-aisle design. Boeing is hesitant to finalize the design due to technological challenges and competition with Airbus. Company aims for revolutionary aircraft design in the middle of the next decade to rejuvenate its market dominance.
Yes it's going to be awhile no doubt about it big Decisions a head but they are till moving fwd with the truss wing but have slowed the project to add more Engineers to help get the max and 7x moving
Nothing new here, they have been saying that they're going to build it and then they're not, build, not build, build, not build, over and over again, I'll believe that they're going to build the 797 when I see the real prototype.
Money money money plus shift in the types of jets the airlines need that's why they stopped building the 757 nobody wanted it the orders dried up and boeing tossed out the tooling .now the 757 size is popular again. Remember airjunk gets free money form the taxpayers to start new products. Boeing don't have the luxury.this new jet is going to be 15 20 billion dollar investment.but between now and the next 25 years there is a need for about 49,000 NEW JETS.
"Carbon fibre.... will allow lower cabin pressure..." . Yupppp. AI scripting just does not understand what cabin height really is. And, 797 is nothing new, but marketing departments are now troubled, and these zero content "oooo, 797!"-tales are.... wellll......
This is just a Boeing Comercial. Before they start to make a new aircraft, they should probably fix the problems with all the other planes. I don't see a new Boeing aircraft for the next 5-10 years. Airbus is the leader of making planes, and i think and hope it will stay that way. Also China have produced a new aircraft, so some of the Asian orders might go to China. I think i will stay with Airbus.
COMAC might come with a competitor which would take away the Chinese market for 797 and likely also a large part of the BRICS+ market. In that case 797 will fail.
This ‘report’ is of course nonsense. The ‘797’ does not exist in any shape or form…nor are there any plans for it to do so. And no, COMAC won’t materially take sales away from any existing or future Airbus / Boeing products. For sure, state owned Chinese airlines might be ordered to buy a few, and Russia might be interested too, given their market is closed to western products, and they are wholly incapable of designing successful home grown aircraft
If Boeing does not first resolve its internal management problems, it will continue to be entangled in any type of development it initiates... even in defense & space... it seems to me that it is not the time to announce any major project these days. Meanwhile, China grows...
I would prefer a HIGHER cabin pressure. This means a LOWER cabin pressure-altitude. But the author of this crap channel does not seem to understand this.
Trump will save Boeing. Am I right? And look at all those amazing fast trains in the US! In reality USA is a second world country with a powerful army. That’s all. Counties who should be building future airplanes should be: Europe, Japan, Canada and South Korea.
The USA has some major issues....you go to far though. Hopefully Trumpndoes nothing directly. Government should stay out of buisness, just provide a safe place to build things. The USofA doesn't need trains, some places should. But the country doesn't. Unless you can get a train to do 550 miles an hour planes are for the country. Certain states and regions could deffinatly benifit from trains/other mass transit. But Japan and South Korea are what they are in part because the USofA. So to with Europe to a smaller degree. And Canada even smaller. There's no reason we shouldn't be building planes, we just have to do what worked in the past. Actually care about something other than money, and let the most talented people do what they are good at. Money people do money. Engineers do the engineering. Don't mix things up.
lol, big army and still the leading country in tech by far. America has “ BIG” problems for sure, but it’s because of politics and it’s infiltrating businesses, not innovation or engineering. Which country out of those is doing what SpaceX is doing for example. America is sadly just vulnerable in the inside.
What’s this, a comedy show? Boeing have 2 versions of the Max uncertified and the 777X not even given it’s flight certificate yet, in spite of being 5 years late! So you come along with the unannounced 797. Not a ’dreamliner’ more a ’dreamplane’... Pull the other leg it’s got bells on it 😂...
sure ... all i hear is should , maybe ,, and a lot of bla bla bla,,,, meanwhile you can buy the A321XLR today and its great and it works...
The 797’s focus on passenger comfort with lower cabin pressure and higher humidity is fantastic.
many thanks for your comment

There was a sayIng if it not Boeing I ain't going. The new saying is
If it Boeing I definitely not going.

How many times have I seen headlines to the effect that THIS airplane is THE plan to beat all planes?

They will. don't mean they isn't room for both their is + china + russia
797 will change aviation and Airbus will probably sit with legs crossed and wait for aviation to change. Yeah right!
✈️
He'll airjunk won't with all the free taxpayers money they get to start.any new airframe model they want to make bet boeing would to be like airjunk
The advanced design of the 797 shows Boeing's commitment to innovation.
true
The 797 looks like a strong competitor to the Airbus A321neo and A321XLR.

Carl, there is no such project at Boeing!
IT DOES NOT EXIST!
It was a phantasy once, that now joins the "Sonic Cruiser" and the "Blended Wingbody"
The increase in seat capacity with the Dash 7 variant is a big plus.
yep, more seats

Yes keep the new video coming, you need to develop your channel. Good topic here you got. Shame Boeing wasn't that good anymore lately.

Maybe Boeing should first solve their huge problems and get promised planes done, as the 777x
yep thanks for your feedback
More Boeing BS!!!!!!!!!! They need to concentrate on getting their current act together; don't hold your breath

China will grow some but there new jets are already out dated and they get must of the avionics from the US and Europe.
