2:50 Oh my god. That's the freaking Virtual Insanity room. "Dancing, walking, rearranging furniture! Babs is, shopping, I let the bird out of the cage!"
36:43,that’s the “Happy Home” from Roblox,it’s a staple of Classic Roblox and widely used associated with Roblox nolstagia ,in fact that entire baseplate is a reference to old Roblox, those strange shapes are a reference to an age old Roblox system that allowed players to build in games, players would use tools to clone and move those shapes to build stuff without having to actually go into the Studio and edit the game directly 1:08:42,that’s a reference to The Stanley Parable Ultra Deluxe Edition,a parody-remaster of the original Stanley Parable, which in turn is a kinda satire, meta commentary on games
i think he was talking about a roblox arg that builds off a friend group using that same base world, esp with what he said about a weird tree in the distance. i don't remember the name but i've seen a few videos covering it
54:56 That's a reference to Minecraft Floating Island Survival Challenges. I laughed a bit when I saw that and instantly recognised it. It's a shame the Librarian didn't, though. It's a very clever little reference, and it's my favourite part of the map.
I watched the map creator stream themselves as they made this, I was hoping you'd get around to covering it! Viewers could submit room ideas via donation, so a lot of the tonal whiplash is because requests ranged from rooms recreated from dreams to total shitposts, it's great. (40:43 and 1:16:13 were my ideas lol) Huge props to the creator, this has become easily one of my favorite Gmod maps.
1:13:48 okay that was.. uh. REALLY spooky. I was literally just thinking about how this looks like a memory I have of someone's house that I visited when I was little. I brought it up to my mom once and from the description I gave her (basically the exact layout of the house in this map), she said it was apparently my great aunt's house that I only went to once when I was around 2 years old. so the fact that you SPECIFICALLY pinpointed that Exact Thing definitely freaked me out hahaha haven't finished the video yet, but I'm really enjoying this so far
I live how this takes the whole liminal trend in modern Garry’s mod and just turns it into one of the old maps that just made fun things and the mood would constantly shift, between running for your life to playing with various buttons that do random effects. I love this map!
My cat always sits next to me whilst I watch your videos, he really likes watching them too, but he ran faster than I could perceive at the WAKE UP jump-scare
Hello Librarian, I have a Minecraft mod recommendation for you. It’s called Bewitchment and you can probably guess what it’s about by the name. I think you’d really enjoy it 😊.
Pleeeeease bring back mystery house!!!! It's been my favorite series for so long and I've been wanting part 11!!!!!! You can download a Christmas texture pack for a one-time Christmas special and it would be so cool!!!!
We've all become desensitized to the spooky noises and growling and but the actual normal human voice shouting is way worse because it feels so much more real and grounded
Seeing you looking through that hole in the wall revealing a guy walking around doing nothing other than to make noise reminded of me of a stunt back when I used to make Doom 2 levels. After making the player get nervous after not encountering anything monster They would encounter a room with a obvious switch. The switch would not only open the door nearby but also open a slot in a wall where several cacodemons lay in wait. They couldn't get you but you head their Hisssss from behind you at that moment. Think of it as a early jumpscare.
This map is probably the closest thing I've seen to a 3D Yume Nikki fangame in Garry's Mod. In fact it reminds me a lot of Yume 2kki specifically just in terms of tonal whiplash.
Actually I'm also reminded a bit of the weird mazes people used to post on the SketchUp 3D Warehouse in like 2009-2010, which I'd almost completely forgotten about until now. Does anyone else remember those?
God this map has so much packed into it. There has to be almost 100 references in the first 20 minutes, I wonder if all the references are intentional.
1:17:07 Most of what I know about facade is Joel corrupting it. I liked this map and a lot of the things in it but it almost kinda went on and required a lot of repetitive getting back to where you were. It probably would've been more fun if I made more liberal use of noclip but I also wanted to avoid spoiling it. I ended up missing a lot until I finally decided to just go full noclip. I explored the door behind your spawn location first. The blinking was pretty disruptive at first but I definitely got used to it.
The some of map felt very familiar to me. There are a lot of former mills around where I live which have been converted into what I like to call "mill malls" with various stores, restaurants and offices. The hallways tend to look an awful lot like the first section, with the ceiling much higher than the walls.
This map was super fun to watch you go through! It reminds me of Yume Nikki which I think you would also enjoy playing! It’s very similar to the random exploration just like in this map, albeit without the random comedy and references to other media lol
You really should play a game called Backspace, its another map on Vrchat like the smile room and it has 2 parts and its generally creepy I really would recommend it if you ever wanted to get back into Vrchat horror maps
50:40 we had a similar idea lol I just made a joke about it being for the intern and a minute or so later librarian made a better one lol Also hey it's Skyblock 54:56
I think the liminal feeling in games is best invoked unintentionally. For me personally Super Mario Odyssey was the Mario game which created the strongest liminal feeling for me when I played it for the first time. Look at those abstract stages or the polar kingdom where you are in a dome overlooking the race track.
5:44 what is this this looney tunes style door sequence? 49:47 WAIT IS THAT THE HOME OF CHALLENGE PISSING 1:08:00 uhhh stanley parable, in my gmod?????
dude i love the references like the floting island from the minecraft gamemode sky block and who can forget my house.wad good job to the maker of this map and good job to you!
Oh my god not only is it Groverhaus, it's *IN A GREAT, DISMAL SWAMP!* It's perfect! And right across from it is the child-annihilating zipline!! Librarian had no idea he was in the SA goon project zone!
Hello Librarian, i saw a video of someone playing votv with the chaos mod on stream and it was fun! This mod has a offline feature as well! I hope you read my message asap because I'm hyped for the new votv season. Love from Russia ❤
36:40 i can't believe no one's mentioned that this is one of the original Roblox custom worlds. I'm pretty sure this was a world template in classic Roblox where the idea was you could copypaste those blocks to make whatever you wanted.
can you play more ultrakill, or try out a minecraft mod called Scape and Run: Parasites? i'd enjoy watching either of those, not that i don't enjoy your other content lol
Glad my WAKE UP jumpscare was effective. Good morning!
I can only imagine someone trying to use this particular video to fall asleep to...
(poor me LOL)
You scared the living shit out of me
Same here made me jump in my bed
@@pachithemew151 XDD for me I was falling asleep unintentionally so the jumpscare sorta saved me
the visceral, lightly bloodied dinosaur picture really brought it all together for me
2:50 Oh my god.
That's the freaking Virtual Insanity room.
"Dancing, walking, rearranging furniture! Babs is, shopping, I let the bird out of the cage!"
I'm glad someone else noticed :D
Those lyrics are the best part of the song, really
I saw that and I thought I was going crazy.

old roblox mentioned 🙏 🙏

Yep this is true
58:35 Librarian Spanked a Fish, caught in 4k!! 😂
26:56 I genuine thought that Chris was the one who screamed “WAKE UP” until I heard him yelp in terror.
Same tho 💀
54:56 That's a reference to Minecraft Floating Island Survival Challenges. I laughed a bit when I saw that and instantly recognised it. It's a shame the Librarian didn't, though. It's a very clever little reference, and it's my favourite part of the map.
Skyblock!
And they messed the cobble gen! We've all been there.
I watched the map creator stream themselves as they made this, I was hoping you'd get around to covering it!

lmao at the mickey's dick smasher
26:56 ngl i thought for a second it was Chris himself yelling to add more comic relief to the video
WAKE UP! THE VIDEO'S BORING
49:27 killed me. bro did NOT have anything to say about that lol
“….nah I’m good”
51:20 That's not just any mini city...
THAT'S THE ALBUM COVER OF MF DOOM'S MM FOOD ALBUM!
"Rapp Snitches, tellin' all their business-"
2:51 I had to check but this is an exact replica of the Virtual Insanity room.
I was thinking the exact same thing
1:13:48 okay that was.. uh. REALLY spooky. I was literally just thinking about how this looks like a memory I have of someone's house that I visited when I was little. If there has been news or something, I am out of the loop and was not informed
We've all become desensitized to the spooky noises and growling and but the actual normal human voice shouting is way worse because it feels so much more real and grounded
43:24 is a reference to the movie Skinamarink i believe.
Seeing you looking through that hole in the wall revealing a guy walking around doing nothing other than to make noise reminded of me of a stunt back when I used to make Doom 2 levels. I think you should try "HIM" addon in a horror map
58:37 the fish slap nearly made me choke on my drink
HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH
"It's a novel execution device so I'll give it that."

55:00 LOL its Minecraft skyblock!

There’s a really cool yume nikki remake on the workshop actually you should try it. It even has functioning TV and sleep mechanics
1:08:50 I see you never played The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe edition. You should.
You should play knock knock. It's a horror game straight out of my childhood, but it still holds up really well
At 36 minutes that is the iconic Roblox "My Place" from early era.
5:00 The danger sings section felt like a level in Superliminal.
11:13 carborg?!? What are you doing in my horror experience! Not to mention the fact you're not the focal point which is highly unrealistic!
God this map has so much packed into it. There has to be almost 100 references in the first 20 minutes, I wonder if all the references are intentional.
Its crazy the amount of videos you put out man, love it
26:56 my brain in the middle of the night for no reason at all
1:17:07 Most of what I know about facade is Joel corrupting it.

55:00 being a recreation of minecraft skyblock is very interesting
Chris: Didn't recognised MineCraft reference. 55:14
Me: 😭😭😭
51:16 it's reference from "MM FOOD" album cover by MF DOOM
29:20 pretty sure thats a reference to the "Black Mesa Hazard Course" video from a Jolly Wangcore
This map was super fun to watch you go through! It reminds me of Yume Nikki which I think you would also enjoy playing! It’s very similar to the random exploration just like in this map, albeit without the random comedy and references to other media lol
36:43 - Man. It's been nearly a decade since I last played Roblox, but that 'Happy Home' is unforgettable. It was quite a surprise seeing it here.
You really should play a game called Backspace, its another map on Vrchat like the smile room and it has 2 parts and its generally creepy I really would recommend it if you ever wanted to get back into Vrchat horror maps
This feels like another one of those growing maps.
I don't know why, but this map reminds me of that one map called "Nester"
My favorite part has to be the rock headcrab.
That was funny.
I made an observation about door opening not working!
I think it opens whatever door your flashlight is pointing at.
50:40 we had a similar idea lol I just made a joke about it being for the intern and a minute or so later librarian made a better one lol
Also hey it's Skyblock 54:56
7:30 I've often felt that, glad someone else mentioned it.
1:31:08 you could start making a garden.
2:51 that's straight up the set for the music video for Virtual Insanity.
I think the liminal feeling in games is best invoked unintentionally. For me personally Super Mario Odyssey was the Mario game which created the strongest liminal feeling for me when I played it for the first time. Look at those abstract stages or the polar kingdom where you are in a dome overlooking the race track.
17:50 Animals like birds also go dead quiet when a bad storm is on the incoming.
53:31 the reference is to the My House mod for DOOM. Librarian has a video on it
37:00 this is khols admin house, an old Roblox map.
Correction. It's the default roblox starter house
57:07 seeing librarian in the role of a bride was surprisingly enterntaining for some reason, also does that count as a forced marriage?
19:15 That's what I think about a lot. All the more curious, are we all just in search of that Everdawn? kidding ourselves we want something new?
Loved seeing librarian intuit the mechanics of Mickey's Dick Smasher from first principles
15:20 sounds like there's a wild horse caught in the airvents
54:07- Aw, man. The soda went flat.
eheheheheeheheheehhgheheheheheheeheheheheheheheheheheheheheheeheheheheheehheheheheheheeehhehehehehehehheheehhehehehehehehehe
1:37:00 The houses there is the Simpson house and Family Guy houses ( As The Librarian states ) and the house opposite FG's is the PvZ house.
11:29 from what ive seen so far, youre absolutely right
New video
New scary stuffs
And new fun
51:15 this is actually the cover of the MF DOOM album MM..FOOD
I'm so glad someone else noticed that...
May MF DOOM rest in peace...
I am willing to bet money the part at 38:30 was inspired by a game called Kairo.
Fantastic game btw, especially if you do the secret puzzles.
Creator here, it's actually inspired by CONTROL! One of my favorites. Gonna put that one on my radar though
@@Startacker Guess I lose money then!
1:37:18 - yep, one episode where Stewie was playing in ads and louis and peter were pushing him too much
Yessir, lets see what you cooked up today!
That astral plain-like room IS a reference to control. It says so in the file names of the models if you search for it!
58:34 _What did Librarian mean by this?_
5:44 what is this this looney tunes style door sequence?
49:47 WAIT IS THAT THE HOME OF CHALLENGE PISSING
1:08:00 uhhh stanley parable, in my gmod?????

1:02:03 Fun fact: that is indeed 2fort, but the original one from Team Fortress 1
YES my recommendation for this map finally happend :O
11:25 I mean IIRC her Discord profile says "i wanna kiss a turtle on its lil head" so yeah probably
It does lol
The building at 18:20 is Groverhouse!
Oh my god not only is it Groverhaus, it's *IN A GREAT, DISMAL SWAMP!* It's perfect! And right across from it is the child-annihilating zipline!! Librarian had no idea he was in the SA goon project zone!
I knew it! I’d know those windows anywhere!
oh my god it is
the the LOAD BEARING DRYWALL
The room you entered at 2:50 is from the music video virtual insanity, it even has the blue couches.
8:37 hey ive seen one of those
thats a room designed to show off forced perspective
1:11:07 too many cursed artifacts you're starting to channel the abyss
Hello Librarian, i saw a video of someone playing votv with the chaos mod on stream and it was fun! This mod has a offline feature as well! I hope you read my message asap because I'm hyped for the new votv season.

Season 12 episode 19 (I think) of family guy Brian stays inside the side part of the house
55:00 Minecraft skyblock reference
To be fair those slides are made for kids not a fully grown adult wearing an HEV suit
36:40 i can't believe no one's mentioned that this is one of the original Roblox custom worlds. I'm pretty sure this was a world template in classic Roblox where the idea was you could copypaste those blocks to make whatever you wanted.
The sounds in this map remind of people playgrounds background noises a little bit
1:06:00 I swear with my life that that's a reference to Undertale.
Can you play the game liminalcore? It reminds me of other games youve played
_Dream of the Red Chamber_
51:20 MM FOOD ALBUM COVER???
That one comment om the blast door about "Stop overriding or you will face *something wierd*" actually comes from half-life 2 episode 2
2:53 WE JUST, NEED UP, VIRTUAL INSANITY
37:20 roblox will forever be a familiar place
2:51 don't sit on those couches they obviously eat people
The land where it is the Lego house and random blocks everywhere is from Roblox
