    Great vid. The only other thing which is indispensible when cleaning carbs is compressed air. If you don't have a compessor - you can get by with a keyboard cleaner aerosol. Blast that slow circuit ! Blast the entire thing in fact..... But you knew that ;-)

      I do normally use my compressor when doing carbs but atm it's not at my garage it's down my storage unit

      Exactly, dabbing at the interior walls of a carburetor with a paint brush wet with gasoline or "petrol" really does NOTHING to resolve the problems associated with a dirty carb, because the clogging action happens in the jets and small passageways not the wide open spaces. you need carb cleaner, under pressure sprayed out of the little tube to desolve the sludge. Remember, the sludge formed and grew IN THE "petrol". Wiping it with petrol is not going to suddenly have the opposite effect and make it desolve. Then, after you have blasted it with carb cleaner you need compressed air to blow out and clear those tiny orifices and the crap that the cleaner loosened up and desolved. A paint brush with gas is a waste of time and gas. Instructing unknowing bikers who actually have dirty carbs and bikes that run like shit, that taking apart the carbs and "painting" them with gas will fix it, is harmful and you should stop attempting to impart that which you do not have, useful knowledge, and remove your uninformed stupidity. What a waste, to actually have the carbs off and apart and still not get the problem fixed because you thought you knew what you were doing and instructed others in something you clearly shouldn't be instructing anyone. What gave you the notion to think that you were so proficient and experienced at this that others might benefit from you sharing that vast treasure in your head? Maybe because you turned a few screws and took it apart and got it back together and it still ran? Next time you count something as a victory try it with something that's not running and actually has problems and you fixed those problems. Oh, and an easier way to document where everything went and how to reassemble it other than labeling every single thing (mislabeling can happen then your screwed) is simply taking pics or vid of it all before taking it apart. Maybe that's why Brits and their whole "we're so important" misconception led them to being increasingly irrelevant and crumbling in their ancient dwellings and crappy little cars. Back when you THOUGHT you were really running this planet you weren't firmly in control of anything, not like we are today. And you thought you could hold us back? AND tax us? How'd that work out for ya Tough Guy?

      That was a true dickhead type of comment.
      You started off by using a bit of constructive criticism which was perfectly ok although it could have been delivered less like a telling off, then it escalated to more and more insults and even brought world politics into it...WTF?
      I bet you have a business that re-aligns and sets up Carburettors....you must think these videos will take precious pennies away from your pocket....what a prick!
      By the way, world powers change all the time, we 'Brits' were the dominant force 3 hundred years ago right up to the mid 20th century....can't say that about America can you? I'm assuming you're American, with an attitude like that, you really couldn't be any other nationality.

      Did you ever get the carbs off your 650 mate? Want to do mine but its so cramped!!

    • @jaymahoney69
      @jaymahoney69 8 років тому +2

      Yes I did. My top tips would be to get a roll of masking tape and label every cable and hose clearly for when re inserting the carb rack and also when re connecting the throttle cables, push the rack half way through the bike from the left side and and connect then. You'll have much better accessibility than you would when they're fully into they're associated inlet ports. This is a great link if you have a bandit 650

    Are you cleaning just one of the carbs for video purposes or is that carb having issues? I'm about to pull out the carbs on my 1200 tomorrow, but i think only 2 of them are having trouble

      3 turns out is too much. Factory spec is 1 and 7/8th and we know that's lean so call it 2.

    • @MotoMotion183
      @MotoMotion183  5 років тому

      Only real way to do it is to remove the tank been a while since I did a bandit now but from memory theres pipes an clamps that need to be accessed from the top side 👍
