      Abdul Aziz Muhammad You are right. However, we cannot act like the US government has not done everything in their power to lead us astray from the greatness that we strive for. Look at Black Wall Street, the government made an excuse to bomb a Black town to detour all of the Black Millionaires that were being produced from it. No excuses, but it is not a straight blame.

    I thought the lesson about the "acres of diamonds" was going to be that the farmer, in his futile, continent-spanning quest for diamonds, overlooked the fact that his fields were fertile and could have yielded him enough crops to not only sustain himself, but sufficient surplus to sell at the market. I've heard a story like Conwell's before - it's about a gold miner who spends all of his savings staking a claim and getting there from the east coast. He exhausts himself and his funds on the dig, without seeing so much as a single shiny flake. Broke and despondent, he sells his claim for a pittance to another miner, and heads back home. The fellow who takes his place sets up camp and begins to excavate. After only three days of digging, he finds a rich seam of easily extracted gold.

    SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE
    *Expect success and get success*
    "Success is the progressive realisation of a worthy ideal". What makes it worthy, is that it reflects your infinite potential. You can be, do and have anything you want. The question is not if you can have whatever you want, the question is *are you willing to do whatever it takes?*
    The person who succeeds is the one who progressively realises their worthy dream and does whatever it takes to be that version of them that attracts the life they desire.🔥

    • @TonyRush
      @TonyRush  4 роки тому

      You cannot "be, do, or have" everything you want.
      Can a quadriplegic be an NBA basketball player? Can a person who hates numbers win a Nobel Prize in mathematics? Can you fly without the aid of technology?
      Those may seem like absurd questions but they all point to the same assertion: "wanting" is not the primary factor in whether someone achieves or acquires a goal.

    • @DanielSquires
      @DanielSquires 4 роки тому +1

      @@TonyRush If you told a person 100 years ago ideas of creating technologies and accomplishments we have today, they would have locked you up and called you crazy lol. First we have to ask is that really the goal. Then we can ask how will it manifest. Would you fly by plane or by biomechanic wings? Would you run with prosthetic limbs? There are paralymic athetes but non yet in the NBA. What was thought impossible has become possible many times. It takes a person with the courage to dream beyond societal limits and the commitment to a definite purpose to achieve what you want in the way it is revealed to you.

    • @TonyRush
      @TonyRush  4 роки тому

      Daniel, I agree with everything you've stated. But none of those contradict the simple assertion: you cannot "be, do or have" anything you want for the simple reason that "wanting" something isn't the primary factor in "being, doing or having".
      Look, I get it. The idea that all the doors are unlocked for you is intoxicating. Who wouldn't want to believe that? Who doesn't want to believe that every possibility is available to them?
      The problem is that it's a completely wrong belief. And wrong beliefs always come with costs, even when those costs may not be obvious to the person who's making decisions on that belief.
      Right now there's a teenage girl in Nigeria who wants to be a world-famous pop star who performs at the Super Bowl. Are you really going to tell her that she can be a famous pop star performing at the Super Bowl? Would you really do that? Because that would be worse than disingenuous. It would be grossly unethical and hurtful.
      Here's the fact: you can't be, do and have anything you want.
      For people who have spent too much time in success seminars, that might be a bitter pill to swallow. It's not.
      Because, once you realize that an infinity of choices is NOT available to you....then you can get on with the business of actually living your life with responsibility instead of believing that positive thinking is going to make your dreams come true.

    Easier said than done. Not impossible obviously, but a lot of these types of videos make it sound a lot easier than it really is. If you already had the type of self discipline and self motivation needed to execute these methods, then you probably wouldn't need these methods in the first place.

    • @TonyRush
      @TonyRush  7 років тому +7

      You have a valid point. I think it’s worth considering, though, that sometimes the value of a message is not that it’s teaching you something you don’t already know but, instead, reminds you of something that you’ve forgotten.
      My observation is that most people don’t consider how unstoppably ambitious they were as a child. Learning to stand, walk, hold a spoon, drink through a straw, converting sounds into words into meaning, converting blobs of ink on paper into ideas...
      ...that’s all pretty hard stuff. And yet, somewhere along the way, we forget how unstoppable we used to be. And I think that’s where videos like Nightingale’s can be helpful. Not as a “rah-rah” session to get people fired up…but as a reminder of who we used to be and what we already know.
      I’d recommend this stuff be used in low-doses, though. There’s hardly anything more unbearable than being around someone who seems to have an endless appetite for self-help books, motivational speakers and shallow platitudes.

    • @x1plus1x
      @x1plus1x 7 років тому +1

      Thanks for the reply. I have not forgotten how unstoppable I was as a child and I often recall that feeling (attempting to foster it), but people change, life happens, and scars build up. I know that the "real" me (not the scared, defeated me) is in there somewhere, but pulling it out and letting it guide me is the difficult part.

    I hope this helps whoever reads it. I followed this for 30 days. My goal was to change my self image and it worked. This is what I did.
    1. Write out a statement of your Short Term Goal AND your Chief Aim/Main Goal... on a "goal card" or paper.
    2. Write it out 50 times a day for 30 days preferably around the same time each day. After the 30 days, you go back and write it out ONCE a day. This is your compass in life.
    3. Set your phone alarm to go off every 3 hours (to disrupt your daily routine) and when it goes off write down your statement and then close your eyes and see yourself with your goal for 2 mins.
    4. Record your statement in your voice on a voice recorder on your phone, and play it back to yourself on loop while you sleep and as often as you can daily, example... in the shower or when you are using the rest room.
    5. Find an accountability partner. If you cannot find someone, then you MUST write out your statement DAILY. By doing this you make yourself accountable to YOURSELF.
    6. Find a community or FB group/group chat, etc and from that community form a Mastermind with one or two people who have studied from REAL Mentors and are giving VALUE. There is a "Law of Giving" and many people are using it. Andrew Carnegie told Napoleon Hill this back in the early 1900s. Its a LAW and it works. Its what I am doing with this post.
    7. Auto-Suggest (Think and Grow Rich Chapter 4) to yourself in front of the mirror in the bathroom at least twice a day. Look directly INTO your eyes OR one eye and recite your WRITTEN statement. Then splash cold water on your face. This sudden shock seals the thought into the subconscious due to emotional and physical shock from the cold water.
    8. Write out ten "I AM" statements a day. example. I AM happy, I AM more confident. Use the word MORE; implying you already have it, but want more. You trick the brain.
    9. Write out 5 things you HAVE that you are grateful for and 5 things that you are grateful for that are coming to you. Mix up the list one after the other.
    10. When in public tell people you see that you love them in your mind. Simply say "I LOVE YOU" to them as you pass them, especially when driving, because their subconscious hears and FEELS the intention. Say it to about 10 to 15 people daily. This increases your Good Karma.
    I hope this helps at least two people.
    It might seem like a lot. But it took me less than two weeks to incorporate the list into my life and 32 days later I started getting massive results.
    Thank you for reading. I hope this is of value to you.

    What if the farmer found diamonds on his journey or it there were no diamonds on his property. All this is hind sight for a convenient story or perhaps he was just not meant to be rich. A one sided story is just a convenient story but that is how most of us view life. One sided and like this story we don't even see it.

      Thanks for chiming in. I would argue there is no such thing as "meant to be" and "not meant to be". Such a perspective implies a belief that a future narrative has already been written and that people are either "on" or "off" track. That's not how life works.

      @@TonyRush You have not seen the paradox in your own logic. You said "There is no such thing as meant to be or not meant to be" Or " On track of off track" you say that is not how life works.. yet you draw a final conclusion saying how life works.
      I simply pointed out that his fortune could have gone either way besides when his fortune did not happen how do you know it was not meant to be. You don't. I don"t. Its not so easy to understand the big picture,.. Chiming Out.

      @@Sycova Pointing out that determinism is a flawed perspective is not a paradox.
      I agree with your basic point that the man's fortune could have gone one way or another. But, if you want to believe in "meant to be", then you're basically saying you have no agency in your life. If that perspective is working for you and allowing you to have the life you want, more power to you. I think most people prefer to believe they have some agency in their life and that their decisions matter....and that's not compatible with a "meant to be" perspective. Best to you.

      @@TonyRush Read more CAREFULLY what i have written! I used the words maybe and what if. I have drawn no conclusions and you assume my perspective and opinion i simply pointed out more possibilities regarding the story's outcome and i told you you cant see the paradox you created in yourself reasoning. If you want another reply you have to do better.

    I think the only thing the advice in these videos leave out is the sociopathic person who sees you succeeding and becomes threatened by it and then works to destroy your success and reputation. And they are very good at doing it. I've seen too much of it in my life and not enough good advice on how to deal such people as you go through life.

    • @TonyRush

      Victoria, I can relate. It’s disturbing when you encounter some of these people. They seem to have endless energy for destruction. Your use of the term “sociopath” is spot-on.
      I don’t have any advice for that. I’ve only encountered it a few times and have been fortunate that they got distracted with something else before they could do too much damage. Plus, I expect every situation is different and calls for a different response.
      Overall, “taking the high road” seems to be the best route. But it often feels inadequate, doesn’t it?

      Victoria to help me deal with socialpaths I read a few books by Richard Greene. I have dated them and have worked along side them as well. From what Ive seen the law of economics you reap what you sow has taken care of my most challenging foes. I had to just stay the course and also ensure I didn't give them any space to maneuver do any real damage to my goal.
      hope this helps.
