Hey sis! Im a 3rd year medical student (and former RN). Sounds like baby Priest experienced a febrile seizure, which can happen with young kids and goes away when the fever does. It’s still very scary to experience and definitely needs to be talked about more. I’m glad Priest is doing better and will definitely say a prayer for him. You are doing a great job as a mom.

Janae those are febrile seizures that he had. Very common in children unfortunately. You’re rightfully concerned and I’m glad you shared your experience to bring awareness to them for other moms/caregivers. It does put them at risk for future febrile seizures if they have had one. Praying for you guys! Everything will be ok. ❤

My daughter is 19 months old and drinks soy milk. She's never had whole milk due to her having a dairy allergy. If you don't want to give your son whole milk, don't. He will get the protien that he needs from the food that he eats and from any alternative milk that you choose.

Yes my daughter just started drinking whole milk at 4! I did vitamin D drops to supplement that as well.

Its called a febrile seizure...I promise the seizures don't cause pain and it's just the body's way of dealing with the high temperature... it is natural to feel how you feel it's your baby. You did all the right things and just now there isn't anything you can do to stop it. I pray you never experience that again and thank god he's ok. It's crazy what we go through as mothers. I’m glad you said what you said about the vaccines. That’s exactly what I was going to comment about but I didn’t want to be insensitive to you. I definitely disagree too all of those shots. All. Based on my experience in my family owning a daycare, the vaccinated kids were sick a lot more and dealing with febrile seizures whereas the non vaccinated kids didn’t have to deal with that.

My son had a fever and a seizure and he had E-Coli. because of Gods mercy he’s still here ❤. This was years ago now he’s 13

We do oatmilk. My son has a milk allergy. We've done it since he was little. He loves it. We also tried Ripple which is pea protein he liked that one a lot as well.
I had a febrile seizure when I was around 6 and never had one again. As a mom I’ve always been so scared because they come out of no where!! I’m so glad he is okay. Also, those fever forehead patches work so good I use them for my son as well🫶🏻
In my prayers! My oldest daughter experienced the same as Priest when she was a baby and it scared me as well. She had it happen to her 3 times and each time I could not help but panic. She was the only one of my three daughters to ever experience it. It never affected her health or wellbeing in any negative way.

I grew up on whole milk and I’m fine. Febrile seizures are common and the kids usually grow out of it.

Try Kiki milk, it’s a plant based option for kids and has a lot of the main sources of nutrients kids need. Whole Foods has it, Amazon or thrive market.

Apple cider vinegar warm baths if he ever runs a fever again. Also, be careful giving him Tylenol
When my babies have fever I rotate cold towels on their body while they sleep. I have also tried the sliced potato in sock trick overnight! Gives them a break from the medicine.

Glad you talked about the milk it is definitely not what we should be drinking. Look up Ki Ki milk for Priest its a clean plant based milk that's a good alternative. Glad he is feeling better.

Switch to organic almond or oat milk. I did that since my son turned 1. He’s 3 now and he’s absolutely fine. I never did whole milk.

Omg my daughter had a febrile seizure when she was 1 and I was all the way in Puerto Rico for my birthday , it’s when they have a fever and their brain can’t regulate it so their body tries to, also my daughter has never had dairy milk she was breast fed for 18 months and almond milk , she’s 7 now and we drink Oatmilk whole milk causes a lot of diseases and create mucus .

@@janaedaugherty527 literally it was the worse , I’m glad you made the switch and Oatmilk won’t be hard for him to adjust it’s thick like whole milk and doesn’t taste weird I’m not sure what brand you use but we use chobani and I get the creamy one they also have coffee creamers as well but u really like Starbucks Oatmilk creamer they just have limited flavors

I used to keep a themometer and a children's fever reducer on hand when my son was younger. He is 18 now, so I have no idea who has a good one now. He used to use Advil's children's

I say switch him to almond milk to see if he likes it! If he likes it great, if he doesn't he can always go back to whole milk. Its worth a shot at least because whole milk really doesn't have any major benefits. Sending my love

Hey girl,
Do not give kids almond or any nut milks due to possible allergies. Plus the doctor is right there is no protein in the almond milks at all for kids. Also, unless you’re making the almond milks at home they have way too much sugar and other additives in them.
Milk does not cause asthma at all either. Asthma is a genetic condition where the lungs are shaped smaller than the average and also, it’s a condition that has been developed from the womb/birth.

So scary to see your baby like that. My daughter took a seizure fever at eight months old. The most terrifying thing I went through. I thought I was losing my baby. She is now a teenager and hasn’t had one ever since. 🙏🏻

no they didnt swab the doctor didnt do too much but check his ears and say he must have had a virus.
