When Jane came in with the cookies, I felt a small wave of sadness, just because I realized once again for the umpteenth time how hard Jane tries to keep everything together as her family slides apart.
Yes. She’s the one who has had to bear most of the parentified child roles. She’s a nurturer, so she wants to be fair to everyone, send them care packages, bake them cookies, and recognize their good qualities. But she’s only recently learned how to do that for herself by leaving for LA, which (i know this sounds silly? but) I’m so proud of her for!
Why am I crying right now?! Because I want it to be Christmas? Because I desperately miss these characters? Because I'm PMSing and am crazy hormonal?? Aargh...
After this video was published in 2012, I went into labour and gave birth to a beautiful baby boy on Christmas morning, 2012! So ever since then, Christmas has been totally different! We celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve and in the morning, but by lunch time it switches to a birthday celebration!
I should be getting ready for class right now, but it's been 75 episodes and I can't be bothered to do anything else but watching the heck out of this (whoops)
Marry Christmas everyone. Our favorite tradition is to save all our cards that we get from past Christmas's and but them all out each year. Every year we put them up with the new ones. We have cards from loved ones that we have lost, and old friends that we have not seen in a long time. We love the ones with the pic's so we can see how everyone's looks over the years. We love it when people come over and they think that we know a lot of people that sends us out cards each year.
Christmas light drives are always one of the best parts. Getting out late and seeing what people have done with lights has always been the best. It just isn't christmas without it.
Every year all my close family who live in England get together (there's usually about 35 of us) and it's not really christmas until we play a big family game :) Last year was Trivial Pursuit, the year before was Charades, I think the plan for this year is Taboo :D Also each year someone always ends up putting a brussel sprout into an unsuspecting persons glass of coke :P Its not really christmas unless those two things happen :) Merry christmas everyone :)
Since I'm lazy and don't feel like going and making a video, my Christmas isn't truly Christmas until I get to my stocking and pull out the chocolate orange and WHACK! it and start teh noms... P.S. I freaking love you girls. I just about cried at the end... Merry Christmas to all of you guys and everyone else in the comments! I love each and every one of you... Even you troll, though a little less than everyone else.
I know this will eventually become a growing point for Lizzie but listening to her is so frustrating right now relative to the way she's been talking down to Lydia the whole time.
Those are all her clothes they didn't have a wardrobe personXD All the cast had to use their own clothing for the show and be the judge as to if their character would wear it or not. Jane's clothes are fantastic indeedXD
Well. That was fun. My Christmas this year consisted of my entire family on my mom's side coming to stay with us. The introvert in me was not happy about this. But hey, they're my slightly dysfunctional family, and they make the Bennets seem downright normal. And I love them all. (Plus, more presents!) MERRY CHRISTMAS, guys, and here's to another 75 videos! hiddlesbatcher.tumblr.com
I celebrate Hanukkah, so I get a few presents to open up and my family and I light the Menorah every night. On Christmas, we go to the movies/rent one and eat Chinese food. Good times.
I'm still at my family's without a camera, so I'll just tell you in the comments if that's ok! We spend Christmas Eve with my mom's family, usually my mom's mom cooks, but she fell this year and broke her hip, and doesn't get around too well. So mom and my sister and I cooked this year, which was nice. Then Christmas day we go to my dad's mom's house. My dad has lots of family, so its a bit crazy when they are all around. But its nice to catch up with everyone. :D Merry Christmas!!!
Celebrated my Christmas alone, but it was fine because I got the rest I needed. I'm house-sitting for a couple who's visiting their family in Maryland. I did my nails, slept in (cause God knows how much sleep I'll get during next semester in a week), and watched movies and shows on Netflix. And cooked. Was really nice. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas ladies, have a wonderful new year, and I hope you and Lydia will stop fighting soon, Lizzie :) .
My siblings and I go wait by the tree until everybody is awake, then my dad gets out a bible and reads The Nativity to us and we go around and get our presents and open them. If we have relatives over, then for our Christmas feast we all bring something to the table. Have a Merry Christmas everybody!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jane is ridiculously gorgeous all the time, and especially in this episode!!! They did a good job finding a stunning actress to play the character who is most known for her beauty
I'm from Iran, we celebrate Norouz here, in the spring. It's a fun holiday, we eat a lot, we have a table on which we put things that seem totally unrelated to each other, but you know, tradition, we visit relatives a lot, it's fun!
I love this season! Some would say it's all about shopping stuff, but I'd like to believe it's all about being with your loved ones, It doesn't matter how long it takes, but if you'd at least have a little time with your family and friends, I think that's all it takes for it to be worth. I hope all of you have a merry Christmas!!
off topic of the video but there was an add for some chair company called "Wilkhahn" and upon looking at it i read it wrong and started looking for hypothetical peaches that i could throw at my screen
It's not Christmas for me until there are Christmas carols and songs. December 1, my mum puts on one of her many Christmas CDs :) And I'm in a choir. Carols by candlelights all around! Love the Christmas carols and the sense of community and togetherness that come from them. Having people say how awesome we were on stage is a giant plus, too ;)
Merry Christmas all! Here in Australia it was disgustingly hot and the air con was broken, but we still enjoyed our roast lunch and finished up the evening by stocking up on the horses' favourite treats and spoiling the heck out of them.
I'm currently on Eid Al-adha (the sacrifice) holiday, it's also a whole week and since I'm a med student I made a study-plan for my exams after the holiday... Let's just say it's been two days from the holiday now, and the plan is very much going down since I decided to finish LBD! xD Our traditions include buying new clothes, sacrificing a sheep and then distribute it on people who are less fortune to buy one, and, of course, visiting relatives.. Thanks, LBD family, for reminding me =)
I would love to tell you about winter solistice traditions on Betelgeuse... But first, Betelgeuse Alpha is a ring superstructure, not a planet (so no solistices), and secondly, traditions and rituals are a typical earthling thing - no matter whether it's about worshipping the pagan god Santa, or eating special food, or making ritual sounds with your breathing orifice.
I wish I looked like Jane. -_-' Anyway, we get new PJs on Christmas Eve! It's a tradition my parents started, so we're the first generation! Boo-yah! And why are they fighting during Christmas? Christmas is supposed to be about resolving differences and coming together in the spirit of love and brother/sisterhood! T_T But it's all part of the story, like I said...I just wish they hadn't done it like that.
Like many other viewers, I will be tuning in from across the pond to watch the Doctor Who Christmas Special! Also, LES MISERABLES! As far as family traditions go, we bake a lot of Turkish food and eat that with other Turkish people. I like just being with my family even if we don't do anything special :) If we want to be different, usually we'll go sledding or skiing, as long as the climate agrees...Minnesota weather can be very harsh. Hope you all have a great holiday season!
My tiny family has literally no traditions. Unless you count completely ignoring the holiday season as a tradition. Now that I no longer believe in Santa, there's not even a tree or wrapped presents anymore. Last Christmas we had a miserable argument and the year before that, we ordered crappy pizza last minute after realizing that it was indeed Christmas Eve. Be thankful guys for happy holiday traditions and extended family, if you get to have all that.
You are right, we should all be very thankful. I am sorry to hear your holidays are no longer a great experience for you. I went through the same thing when my sister and I left the house, Mom didn't get into the holidays much any longer and it was depressing to come home to no decorations or Christmas spirit. Maybe our parents loose interest because they had to work so hard for so many years to make our Christmases magical, maybe they are burnt out. I wanted to reply to you because, as I said, I went through the same thing. Eventually, I came to the conclusion that that holidays are what we make them. so, If i wanted a better holiday, then I had to make it myself. I came home early and set up all the decorations myself, made the usual food, played Christmas music and all of the other things I loved about Christmas time. i just decided one day that I was going to have the Christmas I wanted whether or not anyone was as excited or into as I was. By doing all this, my family eventually got in the spirit, I just had to remind them how it felt.
Thank you very much for your kind comment! I really appreciate you taking the time out to write it. I agree. I think all the time spent with no holiday spirit has kind of numbed me from holidays. Maybe this year I'll try to do something on my own. It's always good to look on the bright side. Thank you :)
flayuhat I really think that if you make your own traditions and make it special in your own way, it could grow to mean more than anything else could have. Start a new holiday tradition for yourself. I hope that I have helped in some way, that is what Christmas means to me. I hope you have a wonderful holiday season and if you ever need a little cheer or support...look me up. Maybe your new tradition could be passing the Christmas cheer on to someone that has none, as I hope I have done for you. I wish you all the best. and even though it is only October, Merry Christmas. :)
Your comment is 5 years old but if you happen to see this I hope christmases have gotten better since then. If not I hope this year is your year! 🎉 Merry Christmas!!
@@flayuhat Well, I see it's been about 6 and 1/2 yrs since you posted your original comment. I really hope that the holidays have gotten better for you. Maybe you have children of your own and like your family when you were little you do a lot to keep the magic alive for your little ones. I know when I was young Christmas was magical and when my daughter was young I tried very hard to make it magical for her. Red is definitely Jane's color.
Melissa Nunes Yep! She looks gorgeous
Even with all the drama, Jane is SO BEAUTIFUL oh my goodness
+elwynbrooks I know. Her makeup game is too strong for me to take!
"And for those of you who've stuck with me from the beginning"
*cough* darcy *cough*

How much did Lizzie have to pay Charlotte for the credits?
Only 25 more to go...!
"It would be so good to see you." I just love the continuity in this series!
That was so adorable
Like Charlotte's lipstick
Her whole makeup look here is stunning

Does anybody else realize that the woman who plays Jane is on "Bones"??
+Elisabeth Andreassen And The Big Bang Theory :) (Emily, a love interest of Rajesh)
And "The Big Bang Theory"!!
Shut uuup! I didn't recognize her!!
Takemysenf My head a splode!
Now I have a headcanon where Jane secretly has morbid graveyard/taxidermy fantasies...
I love that Mary is still a musician

How does Jane get her hair like that? IT'S GORGEOUS.
Lizzie is the only one not wearing Christmas colors.
Lol, remember when video replies were a thing?
10th Anniversary Lizzie!

Only as last resort, for problems that can't be solved with less cruel methods like diplomacy or war.

Jane looks like a young Mrs. Claus... :) I love her dress!
I LOVE Janes Dress :)
Jane looks sooo gorgeous
I'm Muslim so every year my family and I spend a month fasting for Ramadan and this is the time when we usually see other family the most. Almost every night when we break our fast at sunset we have guests come over and we all eat together.

Now, as for my Christmas, I usually spend it at my mom's place, with my snotty, rich relatives and it's basically an even balance between miserable conversation and cool gifts, so it all evens out.
don't you mean toats adorbs ;)
JANE You look amazingly beautiful in this episode. I love the look. XD
So cousin Mary comes over often enough for her bass guitar to be Jane's idea of Christmas and yet Lizzie still forgot about her existence???
JenaPugliese no that's a Christmas tradition when Mary comes and plays her bass guitar
Jane is so pretty in this episode!
Jane can I have your dress?
I LOVE JANE'S DRESS!! I really wanna know where she got it D:
