I'm rewatching this and I just noticed Charlotte's face at the end. SHE KNEW. AND SHE SHIPS IT. I CANNOT DEAL.
People are way too hard on Lizzie in the comments. This video shows that she is genuinely frightened at Lydia's chances in the real world, and the as later videos will show, she is absolutely RIGHT. Lydia may be a good person who is, at heart, desperate for attention, but her behaviors are extremely immature for someone her age and will and do get her into deep trouble.
THANK YOU!
She just should've phrased it better. But someone should've told Lydia that not everything is going to be easy in the world and that being the life of the party isn't going to make it any better.
In my opinion, what Lizzie told Lydia is like telling an overweight person they're unhealthy. Is it true? Maybe. Is it worth hurting their feelings when they're old enough to make their own decisions? Probably not. Lizzie may have been right, but Lydia still deserves to be loved. She went to George because she felt like she wasn't good enough for anyone in her family. Immature or not, she didn't deserve what happened to her.
She's 21 and she's in college wtf. This is what a typical college aged kid does. They work hard and play harder. She's doing well in school and she's having a good time in life. Nothing wrong with this.
Brian Weng Don’t know if you’ve seen the rest of the episodes, but if you haven’t then just you wait.
Darcy...watching the videos and realizing Lizzie is coming to his company.
He probably knew before the videos since it is his company
@@halem6580 probably, yeah. Dr. Gardiner would have to tell him, the CEO, before anyone else, even Lizzie.
There’s a possibility he knew but that depends on how the company is organized if anything at least Gigi knew
I wonder how Mrs. Bennet would react if one of daughters showed up with a wife instead of a husband
I don't think she would mind if the wife was rich
pretty accurate
I really like krispy noodle 's avatar
They address this in one of Lizzie's Q&As. Lizzie said she wouldn't care as long as the wife was monied and they still wanted to have kids lol.
Why do I get the feeling that even if she was ok with it she'd inadvertently make some comments that she thinks show she's being open minded but actually are making everyone uncomfortable?
Dr. Gardener....*Aunt and Uncle Gardener*
JUST PUT A LIGHTBULB ON THE CHANDELIER
Oh my god! I have rewatched this several times and never made that connection. Thank you❤️👍☺️
10 years. TEN YEARS later and I just caught that
I just realized that "Dr Gardiner has some contacts" = her aunt and uncle insisting on going to see Pemberley rofl. I did not catch that connection the first time around!
Lizzie's impression of Lydia when she says, "This is my haul!" is spot on.
"Why does that sound familiar?"
-face palm-
Hahahaha I did not get it until she said that!!! Very funny, scriptwriters, very funny. xD
Dude.. Pemberley
+Shipidy Ship your profile pic and name say it all
"Be smart, be safe..." That was really touching.
"Say Happy New Year Charlotte!"
"Happy New Year Charlotte!"
She is a gem.
That's how her parents met and got married. Instead of an arranged marriage it was a vegas one!
"'Pemberely Digital'. Why does that sound familiar?" *screeches yes at the top of her lungs and laughs maniacally*
I know where she belongs... In Darcy's arms!
Yup I went there.
lol Charlotte's face at the end.
"Why does that sound familiar?" Charlotte knows xD This is gonna be good.
I hate that everyone has double standards. Like they hate what Lizzie does, but they love Lydia even though she can be a bitch at times. I know what it's like having a younger sister like Lydia (except that she's almost 17, she's not obsessed with boys and doesn't drink, but everything else is similar, like her insulting me all the time, etc) and it's not fun. People who get mad at Lizzie, but not Lydia obviously don't know what it's like to have an annoying little sister who's 90% of the time mean to you and acts like she's better than you and that you're the lamest person in the world. Lizzie behaviour when it comes to Lydia is pretty realistic and justifiable, and she's just worried about her, but unlike Lydia, she's not afraid to say that she's worried about her and stuff.
Lizzie: "Pemberly Digital. Why does that sound familiar?"
Me: "Oh you'll see."
I just love the Lizzie Bennet Diaries!
loving the contrast between the 1800's stamps and the charlotte's modern gift
. I love how they throw in stuff like that
Ok, it took me this long to realize that Lizzie's professor is dr Gardiner.
GARDINER.
MissMokate You just rocked my world. I hadn't realized.
Haha, yeah it took me quite a while too ;)
MissMokate Oh Aunt Gardiner... I had to wiki it
MissMokate Oh my gosh...... I never thought about that!!!
MissMokate She did set them up...
when she says "maybe ill find where im supposed to be" I DIE
Lizzie: "That's my New Year's Resolution. Find where I'm supposed to be"
Me: WITH DARCY!
imagine lydia watching this video tho and hearing how lizzie would rather have maria as a little sister.... yikes. that's obviously not how lizzie meant it but if i was hurt that's exactly what i would interpret it as
That's yours and Lydia's issue then. Lizzie didn't mean it at all like that
I'm the youngest of five girls and yet I probably can see better from Lizzie's perspective in the argument. But they're both in the wrong and there's honestly no "right" side.
Legit, "fun" "fandom" and "geeky" are the perfect words to describe me😂
Mabel Pines
CHARLOTTE KNOWS!!!!!!! HER FACE AT THE END!!!! 😍😂😂😂
The fact that lizzie still hasn't seen the entire video that lydia made ( the one that started off with her saying "this is my haul" and then talked about something completely different) and still references only the first 30 seconds of it really speaks loudly about Lizzie's character and what she thinks of Lydia.
Not to be rude, I wouldn't validate such behaviour either. If Lydia showed some maturity or actually listened for once in her life Lizzy would listen to her. I'm the youngest in my family and I understand the simple facts, be respectful, listen and people would do the same, don't react rashly and immaturely, it only paints you in a bad light. You look like a spoil brat to sum up.
Lizzie isn't her mom. Lydia doesn't have to listen to her. Lizzie needs to learn to mind her own business.
Breanna May no but that's exactly the problem lizzie is trying to address.
everyone in the family either coddles her because she's the youngest or let's her loose to do what she wants.
in almost every adaption lizzie has always been shown to be the most mature. trying to reign in her mother's madness. her sisters immaturity. Even Jane isn't left out because she's such a soft hearted person that Lizzie is genuinely worried that she'll get taken advantage of or her heart broken.
lizzie isn't a meddler because she's nosy. it's because there's a gaping lack of mature authority that she feels like she needs to feel
now, I know you're gonna say "shouldn't that be her fathers job?" and yeah it should. but even in the books it's been noted that Mr Bennett is way too layed back for his family's own good. he does what is required of him as the breadwinner of the family but doesn't do much else to Reign in his wife or his other daughters.
lizzie in some ways tried to fill that gap. you notice in the videos it's mentioned that she's the one who seems to have to do the housework and help her mother with the household responsibilities. something that Lydia is allowed to slack on as the baby of the family.
and no this isn't me trying to get down on Lydia. I love her. but her lack of maturity needs to be addressed and while lizzie way of addressing it wasn't the right to do it, it's clearly done because she genuinely cares and is frightened for her sisters well being and because if she doesn't do it, clearly no one will.
not to mention she does try to trust her sister and not worry to much but Lydia doesn't give her any strong reasons to do so.
and if you say her worries are baseless, she's shown time and time again that they're not.
the whole reason book darcy was disinclined at the thought of marrying her was because of her family and he's not wrong.
@@piz3938 u are rude
@@atiqahdiyana5665 its love she needs and she doesnt get that
Pemberley Digital is familiar because you attended their seminar at VidCon, Lizzie. :-)
Charlotte KNOWS!
"Maybe I'll find where I'm supposed to be"
Pretty much...
*charlotte's face at the end
"Find out where I'm supposed to be."
Darcy, I hope you are listening!!!
If you read the description it says the actual show was produced by pemberly digital, it's a real company
That's the joke.
OH MY GOD, this was a masterplan from Fitz! Can't wait for Gigi to show up!
... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh \o/ she's going to Pemberley!!!!!!!!!! extreme fangirl feelings right now!!!!!!!!!!!!! eeeeeeppp :3 :3 :3 :3 !!!!!!!!
I love how in the book Lizzie's aunt Mrs Gardiner was more like a friend and help than an aunt and that's how Dr Gardiner is a friend and help
Lord, that is hilarious. I'm just smirking and ah, it is glorious. "Pemberley Digit.... why does that sound familiar?" Since I've read the real book by the amazing Jane Austen, I am so excited to see what the writers do next!
I have been obsessed with Lizzie's perfect hair since episode one. IT'S SO PERFECT AND PRETTYYYY
There. Just needed to get that out of my system.
"Find where I'm supposed to be."
In Darcy's arms!
I always love the expressions Charlotte makes when she is acting as Mr. Bennet.
Thanks for mentioning the calendar. Some of us (Celts) celebrate the new year at the end of October.
"...where I'm supposed to be..."
IN DARCY'S ARMS!
Happy New Year, Charlotte!
Her Lydia impression “This is my haul!” Was perfect.
Charlotte's face as she realizes where she knows the name Pemberly=priceless!
"find where im supposed to be"
IN DAARRCCCYY'SS WARRM LOOVVINGG ARRMMMSS~
AND YOU WILL LIZZIE! :D
“Happy New Year... in the Gregorian calendar” lol. Favourite line.
Same and Agreed. Best last day of winter vacation.
Omygod lizzies face after she says in the gregorian calender
Sooo cute ;)
Notice that Lizzie STILL HASN'T JUST APOLOGIZED
for which? again? I forgot
She did in the book
@@ForeverinmyownWorld1 but didnt admit she was wrong so it means nothing
But also notice that Lydia didn't get her a gift for christmas, yeah she should have, but they both should have apologized for a lot of things, long ago... (They really don't have great parents, what mother cares about boyfriends when her daughters are fighting like this.)
@@rosjer310pet yes
Charlotte's face at the end is PERFECT.
YES PEMBERLY! I love this series so much :D
"fandom geeky" ? I waaaant to meet Charlotte's sister pleeeeaaase !
You can search Maria of the Lu.
"She could get really hurt" I think she just was
Charlotte seems so happy is this video. It somehow makes me really glad to see her doing so well.
LOVE this video! so well put together. and of course, the ending!!!!!!!
"What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, dear." HAHA!!
PEMBERLY MATE
Happy New Year, Lizzie! :)
I just watched every episode up to this today. Dang. Wow.
Are we ever gonna see Charlotte's "fun, fandom-geeky little sister"??? lol ;)
Autumn Phillips We already did... Maria Lu.
Y'all have to keep in mind that this series is following the book, and if you haven't read the book or watched the movie, then you wouldn't know that Lizzie is ABSOLUTELY RIGHT. She should have gone about it in a different way, but literally every word that she says here is spot on about Lydia, and basically the exact same thing that she told her father in the book when she was begging him not to let Lydia run off to Brighton because she knew Lydia would do something stupid- right before Lydia ran off with you-know-who and almost ruined her entire family's reputation and her sister's chances of every marrying well and having good lives.
The cut out of the costumes was GREAT Charlotte was making almost the exact same face. Amazing
That is the BEST image ever. Thank you for that.
Erhmagherdkernnerth Lizzie is being so annoying about Lydia
Does Lizzie's costume theatre seem less enthusiastic than usual? 😔
Yay! Lizzie in the Bay!!! So excited!!
YAY! Lizzie wished me a Happy Solstice! WOO HOO!
Lizzie keeps on not validating Lydia. She keeps being oh so worried about Lydia; she doesn't trust her sister, she doesn't think her sister is capable, she doesn't think her sister is great ("you lucked out with your geeky...etc.. sister"? seriously?)... she keeps condescending.
I don't think that's just it. I have a younger sister like Lydia and she knows I love her deeply. but the way I see it, I think Elizabeth feels like everyone is too protective of Lydia just because she's the youngest. She WANTS to trust Lydia but how can she when everything she does has just caused her more worry? Lydia is the type of person who has that fun energetic personality that's ok as long as someone's there to make sure she doesn't drunk drive or hitchhike a strangers car. but lizzie's worried about what would happen when there's no one who can do that for her.
there are things lizzie has done that I don't agree to and I'm not taking her side completely in this argument but I am more partial to her side than Lydia 's. even if I didn't agree as to how she should how helped her sister be more responsible.
Atiqah Diyana Yes, I agree with what you say; but Lizzie seems to be wanting to completely change Lydia- she never really compliments Lydia on anything (those are probably not her true feelings, but it's how she acts and what Lydia sees). So I can understand Lydia's reaction. Intention does not always translate well, and the fact that Lizzie thinks this was a good way to go about it... yeah. no. She does not understand her sister and really makes little attempt to (as alluded to further on in this series), it feels more like she is just trying to get her sister to be more like her rather than trying to help her sister grow. The book basically told Lydia: ''stop being you'', even though of course Lydia can be herself and still act responsibly. I am not *really* taking Lydia´s side either, but I think her actions are more excusable than Lizzie's because of the place they come from.
So it's ok. I get you completely. But I think I'll agree and disagree with you on some points. Maybe it's the big sister in me that understands why lizzie did what she did. Though personally if I was jane I'd probably scold her for being so confrontational and straightforward about the matter.
To say that lizzie doesn't understand Lydia might a bit of an overstatement. I think lizzie understands Lydia but she feels like Lydia has already acquired the validation she needs from the other people around her. So much so that she feels like she has the need to be the 'responsible' or the 'serious one' or the 'adult' and NOT give Lydia the room that everyone else gives her and instead be the one that sets her foot down.
In a way it's both their faults cause Lydia never made it seem like she needed that validation from her (being perky and happy tends to do that) but lizzie should have paid more attention.
I think my argument is that Lydia did over react with how she received lizzie's gift. On lizzie's side she needed to understand and realize that her critic is just as important as her appreciation.
I'm not sure if I just agreed or disagreed to your statements. But it was nice talking to you
Nice talking to you too =)
In the end I think we agree in that they both made mistakes, but the extent to which we identify with the characters is different.
What you said about Lizzie is true (although I still think Lizzie doesn't really get Lydia). In fact, I wrote an essay earlier this year about how in the book their father didn't think he could help his daughters and thus never provided an education for them nor attempted to educate them himself (Lizzie was enough like him to bypass this) - he also never really disciplined Lydia and he let her do what she wanted. So Lizzie felt this responsibility, as you said, when she really shouldn't, so I guess the fact that she doesn't know how to deal with this situation properly is more understandable too.
+WorldParticles You are very right. The biggest fault here lies on the lack of a parently support and guide which leaves Lizzie and Bennet in the role of parents which they are not fit to fullfill nor should they. Lydia was in a very dark place and, while her actions were not justifiable, she really needed the help and support. Lizzie, on the other hand, truly cared and truly tried to help, but the tproblem is, Lizzie is too close minded and she only tried to help HER way instead of looking for the most effective way to help Lydia.
SPOILERS
As horrible as the wickham situation was, at least it served to help both of them, (and their family) to set aside their rigid world views and try to understand each other before completely estranging.
If "being hard on someone" just consists of you calling them a slut, telling them that all their life choices are bad, and not taking any of their emotional needs seriously, then you're not actually helping them at all. You're just unloading your prejudice and frustration onto them. How is "You should feel bad for doing this thing I don't like" on a constant loop supposed to be you helping prepare her for adulthood?
^THIS
Lydia got wasted at the Gibson wedding, throwing up in the bushes. She gave a handjob to a guy at Carter’s and they were going to call the cops on her for stripping down. She got blackout drunk at her party , she steals Xanax, cuts school and disappears, takes constant advantage of her sisters.
You're bothered by the slut, but you're not bothered by the "nerd, boring, depressing, forever alone".
Do you perhaps think that Lydia is entitled to all the understanding in the world and somehow everyone has to coddle her?
Lizzie has directly said that Lydia could do whatever she wanted, as long as she's safe. Lydia was never safe. She thought she could do whatever she wanted, pass out, drink her a$$ off and everybody has to take care of her
Well that's not how life works, and the world is never kind to entitled, stupid brats
I cannot wait for the next episode!
Oh man! I'm so excited for next week now!
I like how Lizzie is working really hard to build something for herself, but just happens to be friends with people who are really powerful and influential in her field.
Ahhh! The foreshadowing in this video!! I simply cannot wait a full week
Eagerly anticipating the next episodes!
OH MAN I'M SO EXCITED! PEMBERLY. YEAH!!! Also Lizzie's imitation of lydia "this is my haul" sounded soooooooooooooooo much like her it was freaky!!!!!!!!! well done! everyone & a Happy New Year to everyone!!!
I can't help but think that when Darcy first got the e-mail saying Lizzie would be shadowing his company (or maybe even when he saw this episode) he fangirled for a second and then remembered that he is a high-powered, successful business man who does not fangirl.
I never noticed the subtle redness of Lizzie's hair until now.. Makes the sibling resemblance clearer
I swear, I am fangirling SO hard right now!
This is getting exciting!
OH DAYUM OH DAYUM I AM SO READY FOR THIS ! ! ! ! !
OH EM GEE! Even knowing what's coming next you crazy awesome writers keep managing to surprise!! Love it.
Happy New Year to you too! (:
my APUSH and Bio exams are tomorrow but I’ve already gotten through nearly eighty episodes in the past two days with no signs of stopping please wish me luck as I drop out of school and pursue my dreams of earning a living wage off of knowing oddly specific P&P and LBD trivia
This is incredible.
The intro to this video is the reason why now, ten years later, I still always remember the title of the calendar we use.

Happy New Year to the production team and actors! =)
Simply awesome, especially mother impersonations
I AM SO EXCITE. god, this series is just SO GOOD.
I found it 2 days after and am currently on my second watch. I didn't notice the related vlogs the first time so I had to rewatch with them included!
