Her precision of hitting and executing all those intricate "jazzy" notes gives me goosebumps! I can easily see why she was called the greatest singer in the world
I've only ever loved Ella Fitzgerald's masterful rendition. But, I'll have to give Celine second place for her outstanding interpretation of this classic jazz standard. God bless you, sweet Celine. May you receive your healing soon.
yes, alot of her early stuff, had that french canadian style jazz inflectio a bit, and she sometimes has that jazzy expression in her vocals anyways......a jazz infusion album would be great yes...if she decided to make an album infused with more jazzy elements, maybe not a full jazz standard style, but interesting where she might take it, either way.

Celine sang this in her second Las Vegas residency. while they were preparing that 11th album, they were going to include recording of some of the songs from the show but had so many good new songs that the songs from the show were simply not included on the Album
@@olivegog78olive65 Céline is very talented. No attempt at sophism was made. Truth. You're just jaded which is fine but there is no need to bash Céline. She loves the greats before her and Ella is just one of those great women in music. I don't think Mr. Hancock was held against his will either. Do you?
@@annettemartin766 maybe you do not know what is a sophism. read again my first comment, and then again yours and you will see that this is a strawman. I did not say that she was a bad singer or not worth playing with Herbie Handock, who is free to play with anyone he wishes. how can you imagine that from what I wrote ? You are free to prefer that version. this is a matter of taste. and maybe Celin Dion is your idol ...
@@annettemartin766I’m not saying it’s bad however, if she were a writer she’d be done for plagiarism. It’s not really Celine’s interpretation (which is misleading) but more of an imitation/tribute to Ella (1917 - 1996).The phrasing, scat pattern/verses/ arrangement is exactly hers. You have to give credit where it’s due - especially since it is Ella’s.
Celine can't make it. She hasn't got the rhythm. Only Ella who improvised it that and make it her own and unique version. Maybe Natalie Cole is the only one who can be close. Celine Go back to pop songs. And let this repertoir to the jazz singers.

Oh dear. This song doesn’t suit Celine’s nasal voice. Not good.
great rendition with technical skill, but not at the level of Ella or Dee Dee 's versions

Not really a version but an imitation of The Queen of Jazz/First Lady of Song - Ms Ella Fitzgerald (1917 - 1996) . It’s okay but not her forte .
Herbie Hancock wouldn't waste his time with Céline if he thought she didn't have what it took to sing Mr. Paganini.

Céline did what the late Great Ella Fitzgerald did. That takes talent and vocals.
She honoured her. She did not disappoint.
She has a great voice but nobody sings mr. Paganini like Ella Fitzgerald, she was the greatest
Celine sang it better because she had an “Ella” to look up to. You know what I mean?

She heard Natalie Cole sing this at the Grammys with Herbie Hancock. I dont lime celine singing this. She is too nasal and her scatting is so amateur
