Here's my take: The game has an internal id system that although is close to the pattern shown doesnt have to follow the pattern's rules. The internal I'd is not the same as the player facing id. It's not shown to the player except as a ordering fallback when ordering an ordering rule isnt provided to the card sort. Budding Expeditioner happened to be in the wrong order because that is how Pokemon Pocket originally was going to sort them until they changed their mind later on and that is why the user facing official ids dont match. This also explains why the other cards show up as they do. The internal ids were added to the list in this particular way which seems to resembles a pattern as that is just how they were happened to be assigned ids.
I agree with this. It is very unlikely that the ID we see is the one used in the database. I could definitely see this as a oversight on the development team where BE was committed to the database out of order such that the internal ID didn't sort correctly.
One ordering system that would make sense here is by the most recent initial appearance having priority for each character: Blue from 1st gen in 1996/1998, Budding Expeditioner (assuming it’s Sam Oak AKA young Prof. Oak) from the 4th PKMN movie in 2001/2002, and Leaf from LeafGreen in 2004. 🤷🏻♀️

I'm so confused, isn't it just the order of the pack originally pulled? Most rare cards cards are in the 5th position but on rare occasions you can get them in other positions. I just pulled a pack with full art Sabrina in slot 4
Just to be clear, I’m not saying you can’t pull 2 stars in 1st-4th slot. You absolutely can. I’m just saying the order you pull the cards is not the same as when it shows up in wonder pick. You can pull a 2 star trainer card in the 1st slot and it will show up as pick #5 in wonder pick.
I thought the order in the wonderpick was just the order they came out in the pack, cause sometimes the rare comes in random places instead of the 4th and 5th position
The order in initial WP position is determined as I showed in the video. You can't "see" your own pack in wonder pick unless you check your friend's account. You'll find the ordering in the pack most often different to WP.
the game thinking(?) prof oak as budding expeditioner(sammy from the movie) could be an intended easter egg, but shouldn't it be used on celebi? well prof oak's sync pair in the 'pokemon masters game' is mew, could be a cross reference? its nice that you pointed it out.
Could it be because Blue is the highlight card for his Pidgeot deck? Whereas Leaf and Expeditioner are not? Or would that not factor in whatsoever for the Wonder Pick prioritization?

Can you tell me why I still don't have Brock yet? I'm at over a hundred Pikachu packs opened. Why is this 2 diamond card so slippery? 2.5% chance right? Also why is the RNG so sticky/slippery. Meaning, the more you have of something, the more dupes you will get of that thing. And if you don't have something, it seems very unlikely to appear. I thought maybe I was wrong in my observations of this in the first 3 packs. Because I know that the more you open a thing, the more dupes you get. But it all happened again for Mythical Island. 6 Immersive art Celebi's in 60 packs opened, while having 0 of multiple EX Pokemon. Good question, and it may take some time to understand the importance of this information for those who are new to my channel. This information tells you you don't need to worry about the "movement" of wonder pick cards when shuffling (if there's even any relevance at all). They aren't even randomly distributed at initial position - they are "rigged" or rather set already.
