Hi !! You have a new subscriber.
Tyler, I use a Logitech M325 wireless mouse. Bought it eighteen months ago and it is still running on it's original batteries. It works like charm. Never skips and can do fine movements.
Yes, I think the newer, advanced wireless mouse are much better than the one I had before.
But can still die in the middle of a trade.
Just wondering, how you manage power outages during the day when you are trading. Do you have a backup generator? Thanks for the video.
This is a very timely question because I had a power outage on Friday of last week. It is the first time that has happened in a very long time and it was problematic. I had to use my laptop, which has batter power, and my cell phone for my Internet connection. I do have battery back ups for my desktop computers but not for my Internet connection. Friday made me think that I need to do something better so I will be looking in to longer life battery back ups for the Internet connection and desktops.
Congrats for your new computer Tyler! It will definitively make a difference for the entire experience on Windows 10 and not just for trading. I built my own desktop and assembled it a few years back as I also like computer technology. Your machine is very fast but let me give you a few tips on two of your pc components. First, your processor is unlocked which means you can overclock its frequency speed in the BIOS and you could of also went with the newest 8th generation for an extra performance gain (yours is the 7th generation). The most important second tip has to do with your video card which is ok but not great for 4k monitors. I think it will bottleneck the overall performance of your pc simply because it is slower to generate pixels/s on a 4k screen. I would of went with at least a GTX 1060 which has two variants (3GB GDDR5 or 6GB - mainly important for gaming). PC's are bottlenecked by the slowest of their component and usually it's either the video card or the hard drive (in your case you have a very fast SSD which isn't a problem). Hope this helps!
Thanks, that is helpful, I am having some trouble getting this video card to run 2 4K monitors at 60hz, I can only do one or the other but not both and not sure why (I was told it would work). I am waiting to hear back on a solution but it may be that I need to change to the 1060 video card.
You should be able to run multiple monitors up to 7680x4320@60Hz which is 8K (but it doesn't mean it wouldn't slow down your pc). You have to make sure that you are using the proper cables plugged to every output on the video card (DP, HDMI, dual-Link and their versions that will support 60Hz). Also, make sure that in Windows settings ---> system, you have selected "extend these displays" in the multiple displays option in order to enable all of your plugged monitors and there you can also have the option to play around with the layout of your monitors (where each one will be positioned physically so that whenever you move your mouse from one screen to the other they are in sync). Here is a web link to the full specs of your video card: www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/products/10series/geforce-gtx-1050/
DVD Rom in 2018 ? interesting decision :)
A buddy of mine is a hardcore gamer, so his PC is totally tricked out for gaming. He wanted to see my trading account so I readed one day on his computer and I swear it ran smoother than mine.
Yes, they usually have fast processors but also really good video cards which makes everything work better. My set up is pretty similar to a hard core gaming computer.
Hi tyler
Received computer today. Lights inside are on, but computer itself fails to turn on. Tried to get customer support without response--surprising due to marketing. I suggest you avoid EZ Trading and choose a more reliable source.
Can you let me know if they solve the problem? I have found their tech support to be good but I want to make sure it is good for everyone.
Have you figured out yet how out of date Tradestation's code is?
Why do you say that?
Personal experience, and the opinions of several top traders who have been mentors in the past.
It is old in the sense that it is 32 bit but what I am wondering from you is what is the better alternative, what is the downside? I find it does what I need it to do despite its age.
I abandoned Tradestation for thinkorswim 4 years ago and have not regretted it. Just the fact that the dinosaur can only utilize baby size 1990s memory was reason enough. Then add in all the version after version bugs and instability during the cash session. Well, I don't understand why you bother unless you have a portfolio of indicators you sell through TS.
The main problem I have with Tradestation is the inability to monitor more than 1000 symbols at a time. I can get around that problem by having multiple machines and multiple Tradestation subscriptions. I don't have issues with instability. I have looked at other platforms but have yet to find one that allows me to program the indicators that I have created for Tradestation. Not that others don't allow for the programming of indicators but they don't have the functions to do some of the things that I need. Perhaps some of the cloud based quant systems would work but I am don't like the idea of putting my proprietary indicators on a cloud based platforms as I don't trust the security of those systems. It has been a couple of years since I looked at Thinkorswim and at the time it could not do what I needed but I will check in to it again to see if they have added functions.
What did that beast cost?
I think it was $2499USD, had some extra shipping costs in there since I am in Canada.
using that computer, what is your annual rate of return?
My track record can be found at Tradescores.com.
@@Stockscorestyler is this audited by an independent CPA firm?
No, I post them to my subscribers before they go up.
