That's crazy what the traffickers are doing now! If you have a selfy stick could you put it over the top of the trailer to look for damage or alternatively use a long pole with a mirror on the end, maybe a telescopic one. If you turned the lights off inside the trailer that should show if there is any light getting in, unless they block the hole they made. I imagine it's a lot harder to check in the dark. Loving the vlogs and they are giving me good insight into continental work, maybe one day I'll do it myself it seems like a bit of an adventure.

Hi Sherralin,, enjoying your videos, and the gorgeous scenery. Just watching as you travel down the small town, turning left to the next pack-house, and thinking of care is needed because of the overhangs on houses, ie, balconies. Don't want to clobber one of them🤣. I remember when large industries in towns in our country would provide housing to their employees. My dad got a house from when he worked for Petrochemicals (now Shell Chemicals). He lived in Warrington and got the job shortly after leaving the Royal Navy after the war. He was offered a house, as he was married, and at the time (around 1950), had a child. The small housing estate was just across the road from where he worked
That's a smashing video, ms Sher. Apart from the perspective of "future waggoners" who've never been there, but also for any one interested in these areas in general, for holidays/residence etc. Good luck.
Great video, as always. Santomera is where I have had to avoid, and once hit on the head, by a lemon, off a bulker delivering to the plants there. Thankful I wear a cycle helmet. But we never buy lemons when staying in Murcia.
Your camera work is superb and such clarity. Interesting information and backing that trailer, I wish. I know illegal immigration is a problem for the UK, but I am not sure why you or any truck driver should be held responsible when they go to such lengths of cutting holes in top of trailers. I thought that is what X-ray machines are for, to detect such people. Stay safe.
Terrible damage too that man's trailer with the hole in the roof. The fines are huge now. That could close down a company with one bad fine. You are lucky you had a 2nd seal too do that. Some places load you and put on the seal and you can't take it off until you arrive at your delivery point unless the customs officer wants it opened in the mean time. Lovely scenery on you run.
Unfortunately it is becoming more and more prevalent. Can you imagine the mess if he had yogurt etc on!? The whole load also gets condemned. The seals I have are issued by my company, not many fruit or veg packers give you seals. We do our best to protect ourselves, seals, inspection record form, photos, 3rd party checks, anything we can to show we have tried our best.
@@GBtrucklady we have reversing cameras on our cement tankers for certain sites we go on to. If you set up a reversing camera on your trailer for normal use and then added a second camera onto the system which is easy done and tried mounting it inside your fridge trailer without it being effected by the cold air from the fridge, at least thst way you can flick on the camera from time too time and check inside trailer. Could be something that might work. Say you mounted the camera at roof height up the very front corner of trailer it might work. Mount it in a little box with a bit of evtra insulation around if.
that bloke reminds me of a spainish driver, who had 25 attempts to back on the warehouse bay where i used to unload spainish drivers, he gave up and seeing the had pump truck indicated he wanted to wheels them off, 24 pallets of potatoes that is,so he parked outside the normal warehouse door, i proceeded to lift him and the pump truck onto the trailer & when i went to adjust his air suspension i got a curt"no touchy camero senor", fine i thought he didnt realise he was backed up a slight downhill, so as i was unloading him the rear of the trailer was rising up, and his was pulling uphill all the time, when i eventually lifted him down, he was sweating & puffing & panting galore, and i explained in my "lorry driver spainish" that he had let me adjust his air suspension for him he would have had a easier thing of it, the sudden dawn of realisation was priceless, i signed & stamped his CMR and bade him "adios senor" & away he went, 2 things it taught him, back on a bay & dont question the forklift driver when he is trying to help you :)
Did Spain every week in years gone by. Always Food produce & shoes back to UK but lucky get trailer to Dover for me job done. I had to laugh at Immigration £10,000 per person may as well be 100,000 🤣
The rationale behind the fining of lorry drivers is I suppose to deter lorry drivers being tempted to accept payment for carrying immigrants or worse, have rogue lorry drivers drive lorries that are intended to carry immigrants over the border. Nevertheless, I can't help but feel that the Government are basing their rationale on circumstances of decades ago and that they really need to look at the situation as it is now and find a different method. Fining innocent lorry drivers an exorbitant amount of money seems very, very wrong to me. I don't know what the best solution is, but I can't help but feel that they need a sort of 'green' and 'red channel' at the customs which is solely for checking lorries for immigrants. Lorries that voluntarily go through the green channel would have their lorries scanned and checked and face no penalties. Those that go through the red channel and are later found to be carrying immigrants should face penalties. Of course, this adds time to the customs procedure and requires extra resources, but Governments should be finding ways of protecting innocent lorry drivers. Perhaps someone could think of a better system, but something needs to be done. Fining a lorry driver £10,000 per immigrant would not only potentially ruin them financially, but completely destroy their careers. The Government isn't thinking hard enough.
Hi... I have just found your YT. Great content. Would you consider doing a vlog on how you got into European work and what it takes to make a good Euro driver. Stay safe n well.
Thank you. I’ve thought about it but I don’t think there is enough to do a full video. I got into distance work by just applying for a job. I love the adventure of going to different places, I hate routine. If I won the lottery I’d travel to all the places in the world I’ve never been, then when I’d done them all I’d start again 😁 Doing long distance you have to be happy to be on your own for long periods, happy with your own company, ok with being away from home for weeks at a time. Have common sense and be able to work on your own. Being alone doesn’t mean lonely 😁😁😁😁

These are the best locking bar ever. They never move. Spring ones can pop out with weight and rough roads with the flex of the trailers. A lot of places that load fluids, milk (Wiseman) and fruit juice for example will not load a trailer with spring bars, you have to have cups and bars. Remember, if you load 24/26 pallets of fruit or onions in a fridge, you are only putting 2 bars at the back, that’s the full weight of the load on those 4 bar springs. Each cup has 2 securing points into the side walls, the bars can slide 2 or 3cm side to side in the cups but will never slip out as they are solid.
