The Last Routemaster

Friday 9th December 2005, the last Routemaster bus journey was made through London. It was a 159 to Streatham. I was there man.

Interestingly there're still loads of old Routemasters preserved to this day and every once in a while they're sometimes used for extra buses during tube strikes!

TopGearDog we have one on the vintage tea tour here in Dublin and bus hire companies have some in their heritage hire fleet. Brilliant buses.

RM2217 is Now with London Bus Company in Northfleet Kent as Part of their heritage fleet

I was there but I went to Stretham Garage to Photograph it coming in to the garage. I was in London from Dublin to see Marillion play and had to stay on a few more days to catch the last Routemaster. So many of my bus nut friends came over from Dublin to them finish too

When I drove RM's we were still using the A14 Gibson ticket machines.

I was on RM2217. after 4 hours at Marble Arch off at the Garage after aren't them into the Tram Depot. a pint in Witherspoons. then slumed it on a VLA back into town. can it really be nearly 15 years.
RMs proper buses. can I HAVE A DRIVE?
