Always feel wierd when i drive the contraflow either going away from Lihue or returning. One thing is if all of you notice, there is no Street Lights for the HWY.. once you leave Kapaa or Lihue its Dark -- real Dark.. reminds me of going camping in the Mojave desert, the only light is your headlights and starlight.. real spooky driving between Kapaa and Lihue at night and there is only you..
I neva paid attention to the drive in the dark there. But I've experienced the drive from Kapa'a to Kilauea where you need hi beams because there's no street lights. Being unfamiliar with the drive makes it a little harrowing.
@@c_honda Yes... from Kapaa to Kilauea is the same.. I never drove that route at night.. yet.. I usually get back to my condo earlly afternoon prior to the crazy traffic in Old Town Kapaa.. thats as bad as rush hour here in Los Angeles..
@@c_honda but old town is the worst.. there is a shortcut right in the middle of old town.. that bi passes the traffic and dumps you off like 3 miles closer to kapaa, a couple years back i was wondering why all those ppl want to drive towards the mtns.. but then I looked on my WAZE and it showed me why.. When i was there last Sept.. i took it and man it saved me alot of headaches.. and drops me off right where i want to go.. like to Pono Market and Leong’s Meat House which has the best Lau Lau on the island.. but their Kalua pig is bland.. but I get my stuff and drive back on the shortcut and back to my condo in no time flat..
@@c_honda I see you been to East LA and tried a Mex Place.. next time your near EAST LOS... as we call it.. go to the most famous small place in Boyle Heights called El Tepeyac or as locals call it Manuals.. its been there forever and its really good.. always busy.. last time i was there years ago.. there was a reg dude there on the weekends carrying a bottle of Tequila, offering shots to anyone that want it.. crazy.. but good food..

@@greatfullded traffic is bad in so many places, but I mind it less on beautiful Kauai 😆
